The CCP devs 10 years ago where a lot more blunt then the current guys I think. :)

I have to agree though that scanning for peoples deadspaces and then jumping in and salvaging fast and taking off is a bit low... only really safe to do that in hisec though, or if you throw out the salvage split offer and be ready to run in low or nul. lol (I bet in hisec it must annoy people that don't wanna take a shot at you pretty darn good)

There are a few garbage collection corps in the game now I notice... that run dedicated super salvage ships. They offer cuts to the pve mission running people and clean up behind them. lol I have heard the better ones will have all your wrecks salvaged and your cut podded almost as fast as your done killing the rats. lol

Oh, I had no issue with the folks doing it low/null...heh, after all - they could have done much worse than just salvage. It was the folks that did it in hisec while on alt accounts hiding in noob corps so you couldn't wardec them and there was no reason to hire somebody to pod or just to do it with your own alt.

The salvage corp guys had balls...they were out there and if they wanted to play rough, daring somebody to do something - that's what they were doing. The folks hiding in noob corps were just cowardly trolls...and yeah, I got into it with somebody from CCP over it.

Resolved an issue that caused the Fleet Tactical Escort Retrofit and Fleet Tactical Escort Retrofit [T5-U] to have less Shield Hit Points than intended.

dude, check the patch notes. The fleet voquv and standard voquv have had their mastery passive abilities fixed. Cryptic cares about KDF science.

    oh wait...

that's right...the standard voquv didn't get an upgrade option...WTG cryptic...

Hey, who knows...maybe Cryptic's going to start charging 2k Zen for the Vo'Quv with tomorrow's patch. ;)

they wanted to make sure all the long standing stat bugs were worked out before they copy/paste them and uprate them for the tier 6 version that gets released next week

If they didn´t fix it people might not buy the T6 version that is invariably coming soon.

I so want this to be true, but I can't see why you're assuming T6 Defiant is coming out.
"The tier 6 version coming out next week" is the Intrepid.
About fixing shield HP, they say they had lower than intended. That doesn't explain why SM was always listed as 0,9 at fleet requisitions :/

why would they release them next week, so close to each other? Not even Mogh and Avenger came out that close.
Yes they have the Defiant interior already and two C-Store versions, but there's DS9 bundle already, and Phantom.

Its not as scary as people make it seem.

https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/New_player's_guide This might be a good read.

I think they still do a 30 day trial... there really isn't much you can'd do while in trial mode as I remember about the only thing you can't do is create sales on the market. (you can buy stuff and insta sell your loot salvage or ore no issues though)

For Eve PvP my suggestion is to just forget about it for awhile.. but you can do what you like. lol

In the core systems that are 0.6 sec raiting and higher your pretty safe. Attacking other players there will have the police all over you... so in general most people aren't running around hisec trying to kill players. If your in hisec and in one of the first few tiers of ships, really your just not worth the hassle to kill. NPCs will drop better stuff and there hulls will salvage for more. ;)

It takes awhile to get used to the interface... it feels like the game is using a future Linix style OS. Which was the idea. It grows on you though... piloting right now is still standard eve. Double click in space... or best lock a target and set your ship to orbit or keep a distance. (you can set the default values for these to = the best range for the weapons your using ect)

Anyway I won't keep going... just saying its not as scary as some people make out. Yes if you die your ship is gone and if someone kills your POD you will wake up in your clone body. Which sure costs you some ISK. When you get to a point that you want to start exploring the more dangerous areas just don't fly a super expensive ship with a ton of expensive gear. It doesn't take long to make enough ISK to cover the cost on a mid range ship.... loosing one shouldn't be a major setback honestly. Hit LowSec when you can afford to have a couple destroyers in the hanger. (around a week I would say for most people).

Anyway hit there wiki and do some reading... worse case if you hate it after a few days of there trial no real loss... Eve is only 5 or 6 gb to download.

EDIT just a note to ... that guide says flight is all auto (standard eve) mode which is true... if you missed it though manual is coming in DEC... and not 100% but possibly full Joystick support at some point as well.

the mogh wasn't even on the drawing board when the avenger was released. it was going to be an art upgrade negvar at first. still hope they do that actually, and for tier 6. the defiant art is in the can, its got a bunch of recently made ship costume parts too.

ya there's a DS9 bundle, and you can get quite a deal on it when they bundle it together with the tier 6 defiant. that and all its refits and retrofits, exactly like they did with the intrepid. a week from now, a month from now, why knows. its bound to happen sooner then later though.

ya i thought that was pretty funny. with SA, they pretty solidly locked it in that the scryer is the last sci ship you will ever need, no others will have an intel COM and LT hybrid by the looks of it.

a couple other LONG overdue and note worthy changes in this patch too. and argala can be teamed now

    I know your right

But the ship is just too ulgy to use in pve...........doesn't matter what stats they add to it

I got 3 sci Toons and haven't mastered or even put that ship on any of them

but due the the ALT character nerf my Fed sci toons only do ground now I let my romulans do space content...no sense upgrading a Fed for space when the same romulan can do double the dps in the same lockbox ship
    Jellico....Engineer ground.....Da'val Romulan space Sci
Saphire.. Science ground......Ko'el Romulan space Tac
    Leva........Tactical ground.....Koj Romulan space Eng

JJ-Verse will never be Canon or considered Lore...It will always be JJ-Verse

Honestly though I have traded my scryer in for one of these recently.

I bought the Scryer for the Starship Trait.

I didnt find it underpowered, even without the secondary deflector, Sensor Analysis, and only 2 tac console slots.

I actually was pretty impressed with it (though a tad on the squishy side).

I was getting 5k ticks with my GravWells. And 12-25k per beam stirke using the combo of Surgical Strike and Override Safties.

I can see why many considered this ship underpowered, but it isn't really that bad in any significant way.

But with that said, I will definatly not complain about getting a few extras thrown it's way, like sensor analysis and secondary defelector.

I think with those two adjustments this ship is pretty darn good overall (still doesn't fix the Ugly but thats all perception), plus it grants a "really great" ship trait for Sci captains who rely on particle generators/Exotic Damage skills.

I cant get my Armitage to use the old Zephyr skin. Maybe a steamrunner or akira revamp too? It could just be a bug, but the same thing happened to the Bellerophon skin before the Intrepid revamp.

Did you load Intel Team and close mirror rifts just by sheer stealth?

    Now THAT is fun.

    Ive not tried that.

But you make me wonder if that would work on Azure Nebula Advanced. Something to try out later.

im shocked it didn't also get a hanger, i mean, what the hell is that optional... tail section supposed to be for, if not an optional hanger? lol

    Separation module :D
I mean, really, you're right. This is the only SCI ship you'll ever need, and you can fly it in a tac role with nice torpedo/beam options with intel COM.

What was supposed to replace Dyson turn out to be a mix of Wells and Mobius in one ship, but a tier more OP.

WTF Lorrie, Dragon Age? They butchered the spirit of the original so much I was ashamed I bought the new one. Luckily they give refunds within 24 hours. That's EA for you.

Oh about the Scryer, can't wait for fleet version now :D

honestly wasnt impressed with the scryer until the last patch, sensor analysis ontop of the gather intel abilities is pretty brutal on big single targets.

Of all the things you could've compared it to you choose something that doesn't have any impact on pvp improvements?

For the last gorramn time the environmental artists don't have any frelling thing to do with the gorramn pvp CODING. They're 3D modelers. Not programmers you colossal fething dummkopf.

For the same of the community stop making this frelling comparison, you're making everyone else dumber every time you open your yaphole.

I tried I really did... couldn't get into it after the first 10 levels. lol

I will have to sit down one afternoon and give it another few hours. You guys are having fun can't be that bad. :)

Eve has improved a bunch of stuff and are adding some cool stuff in dec though. You guys should check it out.

Oh no, Salieri, don't do this to me. You have no idea how many hours I have sunk into Eve over the last 8 years. Today I'm a recovering Eve-aholic. One day at a time. "Today I will not Eve".

I both love and hate Eve more intensely than words can say. Do you know how it feels to have an account perma-banned with 35M experience? And then start from scratch and level another to 60 million, only to have CCP change a fundamental game mechanic and throw your whole scheme into a cocked hat?

No, no, I'll just sit quietly in the corner here and play STO, that's fine...

That definitely sounds like the EVE experience...heh, lots of folks hate it - lots of folks love it...but it's the folks that loved it only to have CCP do this or that - folks begin to channel their subconscious SWG Rage (even if they never played SWG, it's part of the universal consciousness)...
