I think you underestimate how long it takes - if you just want to fly one ship, it doesn't matter probably, but if you want to unlock traits to finalyl switch to the ship you really wanted, it takes pretty long. There are 4 Trait slots to fill!
leveling your specializations may take long, but you can do it on your favourite ship with all your favorite play style.
The Trait system has my Escort Captain sitting in a Cruiser rather than his Phantom... The Eclipse is okay for that purpose, but the Guardian and the Tier 6 Science Vessels will work a let worse for her.
Given how long the specialization grind is, I'm happy I have something else to think about while grinding xp: like getting mastery on ships.
As it is, you can get all Tier 6 (FED - KDF and ROMs have only two ships) fully mastered along with a couple more ships you wanna use before even getting to level 70.
Heck I'm not even sure upgrading and 'mastering' all the dozens of ships I have could get me to 110.
In light of all that, I find the 50% reduction unnecessary. Poor players that only use one ship. They'll have it mastered in minutes and have no other distraction on the long path to lvl 110.
Btw. some nice fixes in this build. More are still needed, sadly.
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class. Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider. Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.
Wow such a long specialization grind to level 110 points. I am at level 62. Really just doing the MIE, some Borg Disconnects and KP Thin Line and Time on Target missions. That's right I am only flying one ship it's all Mastered up to level 4 for FED, ROM-FED and KDF. Those of you have many of your favorites have to grind for each of them too. 3 is enough for me. I hope that one day they can all meet each other. KDF is oldest, yet not the first player. FED and ROM-Fed are like twins. I hope things will change in the current game one day. Fix what you must, but bring new full missions to bear! Thanks for what you have made for us to play daily!
When is the Kobali Personal Shield going to be made a replay reward? As it is now you can't reclaim it if it gets vendored.
Also, why isn't the issue about the missing Borg ground and space Elites being looked at?
Speaking of Kobali Shield.
The bug was present on very rare mk XIV version as well. Basicly, the value of Maximum shield Capacity the Shield should give to player, does not reflect the real value we get.
Ie, my ultra rare Kobali Shield should give me 548.1 Shield Capacity, but my shield value I have on character, says I have 456/456. Of course, these values are those I get on ground, as I'm aware in space various modifiers for ground don't count in.
[10:20] Your Lunge deals 4798 (2580) Physical Damage(Critical) to Tosk of Borg.

Not sure if you do or not, but if you have the juggernaut shield trait from the spec tree, it has a bug with it just now where you have to unqeuip your shield and re-equip it after every map move. Otherwise it doesn't kick in so your expected shield level and actual shield level will be different.

Ah, yeah, I've got the Juggernaut traits max'd... so what are you saying, is that I gotta unequip/equip the shield after each map move?

Yeah, for some reason it doesn't register properly after a map change. So if you look at what your shields should be, they will actually be less because it's not applying the bonus. Crypticfrost confirmed this a week ago, but doesn't look like there's a fix released yet.
Still no fix for Plasma DBBs ?! Your brand new Corrosive Plasma DBBs are missing their procs as well as Romulan Plasma DBBs and pretty much every other plasma DBB is broken.
Your own QA has mentioned that it's just a database entry mix-up (they are characterized as phasers, because you know, why would anyone use anything else other than canon Federation weapons) so why has there been 3 patches already that this problem has been recognized and there's not a fix yet for them ?
This has been mentioned several times by different players. But I will repeat it once again, in case the developers haven't noticed. The bug affects ships with no loadouts, as well as the ground tray. It is not a loadout-only issue. See the following bug report:
And how long will it take for the Borg alerts to be fixed? They're still having the bug at the end where the Unimatrix ship fails to appear.
Along similar lines, Bort verified the bug I reported in Undine Infiltration where no mobs spawn to try and attack the Orb. Is there no ETA to fix yet, or did that just not make the patch notes?
I would personally support a fail condition for UIA whereby failure to properly quarantine or clear a suspect would result in a wipe. Better yet, stick the person who makes the wrong choice with the cooldown, and let everyone else queue immediately for the next UIA. It's not combat, it's not even a *timed* optional yet people are unwilling to slow down and read the clues and it is rather annoying since it's not like there's a giant rush to get it right. Hopefully wiping a couple of times would get the point across to those who try to rush it and treat it the same as a combat objective.

until trolls realize the extent of trolling they can do with the wiping, and deliberately wipe every few minutes to make the entire stf unplayable until everyone else ragequits.
the forced cooldown to only the one responsible for failure is a much better idea.
Now clowns, that's another story. They scare the crap out of me.
We fight them too. Entire armies spilling out of Volkswagens.
We do our best to fight them off, but they keep sending them in.
If they can just nail down the loadout issues, I'd be much happier
This... this is so totally annoying and I'm tired of trying to figure out work arounds that seem to work only for something to happen and my loadout to totally TRIBBLE up again... and again... and again.

You have a point. I think UIA may be a unique case in that unlike objectives that a team or part of a team must work together to complete, you *can* pin the interrogation failure to the one person who did it.

Yes, I support that idea. It's so annoying when everybody suffers a penalty on that mission just because one idiot can't be bothered to take two seconds extra to read.
I still don't understand how people haven't figured them all out yet though to be honest. I mean they always say the same things, and the things they say when they are Undine are glaringly obvious. Some people are just so adversed to anything that involves the slightest bit more effort than spamming F.

I can say from experience I am used to working certain parts of the map by habit, and not others. But when I have recently ended up in unfamiliar areas, I slowed down and read.
What pushed me over the edge on this recently was a pug where they made FOUR errors. Seriously?!?! I get that--marginally--in a Normal, but not in Advanced.
Now, I can understand that there could be a foreign language issue for a few people, but if I were in that position I might ask in the chat either for the answer or for someone else to come handle that interrogation in my place.

I bought the Delta pack and have the Tier6 Lockbox and Lobi ships. Leveling increased by 50% is Great news for me. Considering I need to Level 5 ships on each of my 3 Fed characters, 2 on my Klingon and 2 on my Reman. I also dodged the ground missions recently because the XP gained from those levels didn't do squat to help level the ship(s) mastery levels. This couldn't have happened at a better time (for me personally) becasue I was ready to quit due to frustration.
So. Ironic considering what we were discussing, but I had a fat-finger moment and hit the wrong button in a UIA today on one of the interrogation questions even though I knew the answer.
Even in light of the fact that I was the one that screwed up today, I still have to say it would be fairest if I were the one that had taken the full brunt of the penalty instead of the team being impacted, since the system surely knew who did it.
Oh and by the way, unlike ANY other case I have ever seen when this has happened in a UIA, I came forward and apologized to my team in chat for my carelessness.
They didn't seem hugely bothered as we still got 9/10, and didn't reply, but it seemed like the only decent thing to do since I screwed up and I knew better.

Actually, it IS a loadout issue. You gotta understand, basically the loadout system predates the actual loadout system. Which is to say, prior to the advent of loadouts, the system was already remembering trays for each ships: just a single loadout, as it were. The Devs basically merely extended on that a bit, adding doffs, and save/load buttons, to have multiple loadouts. But it's all just an extension of the same old system.
And that is, IMHO, actually why loadouts are broken: they took the easy route, instead of just building a *working* loadout system from scratch.
I mean they always say the same things, and the things they say when they are Undine are glaringly obvious.
You can say that again. Most of the time, I don't even have to read the clues - the non-clue question gives them away. Flying pigs, turtles on their backs, Cooper commanding the Enterprise...
Infinite possibilities have implications that could not be completely understood if you turned this entire universe into a giant supercomputer.

Yes if people are unsure of what they are reading, for a language issue or whatever reason, then they should just stand back and let others do it. One of my friends has never learned them (not sure how as he's played it almost as often as I have) but when we run the elite version where you fail if you get any wrong he just says at the start in chat that he doesn't trust himself so he'll deal with fires or orb protection whilst the rest of the team do the questions. Though Orb protection doesn't need anybody right now as no Undine spawn anyway haha.

There are several issues there with not only genders but listed abilities as well.
I've run into this several times on different characters now: The intel BOff descriptions don't match what you end up with.
So if you are looking for a female Andorian with the tripwire drone ability you end up with a male Andorian and no tripwire drone ability.
It might seem like a little bug, but if players are spending in-game currency for these BOffs then this bug makes the whole BOff purchase feel like a bait-and-switch situation.
In the immortal words of Captain Sisko: "It may not be what you believe, but that doesn't make it wrong."
