And this is even better! We would play Elites of this stuff if it actually existed yet - clue - it doesn't.

    Rest as per pugging.

Ah don't worry my supercool friend. They will certainly be added soon. There are a number of elite missions currently. And I'm sure ISE and CCE will return, as I'm sure that is the main cause of concern and desire to make advanced inaccessible to 90%.

As an aside I do feel that ISA and CCA are fine now.

I love how people are claiming that they can Solo an advanced STF when the game doesn't actually let you play them on your own.

You all win 1 brain point.

You can't start them on your own, but you can have friends afk the whole time or leave after queuing.

I've been pugging and running pre-mades since the last patch.

Pre-mades - 100% completion, with optionals. Pre-patch, sometimes failed the optionals, never failed outright.
Pugs - A few optional failures (I think 1), and 1 real failure.

    Cause of failure?

Team's cleaning up the spheres on the left after taking the the left side out - plenty of time left on the clock. Dude in a Jem Hadar carrier goes over to solo the other side. Someone (not I) asks why we're working the right side before cleaning up the spheres. Pops one solo and manages to get the whole thing down to about 98% before the nanites get there. It was too late for anyone to even get in position to help. Then in zone says "You all need more DPS." and warps out. Either we got trolled, or that guy should really look in the mirror to find the cause of the mission failure.

As someone who has relatively little experience flying the queues, I'll humbly (maybe not gladly) admit when I make a mistake that costs an optional or mission. It appears some in-game simply cannot. DPS-aside, if you cannot solo a side - DO NOT solo a side. Blaming others for lack of DPS because you want to move "faster" when the optional isn't even at risk has questionable logic at best. The pug I was in was doing fine - if s/he had requested that one or two others head over to run the right side while 2 or 3 cleaned up spheres, we would have been fine.

FWIW, I think the difficulty of Advanced is OK now. A "little" harder than the old Elite. It could maybe come up to a bit harder, if BNPs and VR mats start having a chance to drop on Normal (not even guaranteed, I'd say). I also can't wait for all the new Elite queues. In fact, I hope Cryptic makes them even harder.

i just wanted to add this:

If i say "many" or "they" from now on i am talking about myself too. Many Players think Advanced is too hard. Many Players (probably most of us) are Average players, players who Play STO because they are Star TRek fans, because they like the game or whatever.

Manyhave a ship built as they like it. They don´t have the Time or money to create ta uber-ship or participate in this grindfest. Many don´t hafe their R6D al Lvl 15 so it would cost too much dilithium to upgrade. But we do spend money on this game, probably more than those "elitists" who get all their Dilithium by endless girinding because they somehow can afford to play STO 24/7

But i already heard from many players that they deleted several of their Characters ( i deleted 4 and i a going to delete 3 more) because levelling up is far more work than fun now and just not worth the time.

And you don´t spend money on a deleted Character, you dont buy ships . And i also heard from many players that they think about leaving the Game.

I know that the "Elite" here will probably say "Let them go, everyone who can´t survive in STfs, everyone who does not have the same super ship as we have does not belong in STo". But a few "Elitists" can´t keep STO alive. Heard that from some People in other forums

I heard from many People that it is easy to get Voth Implants and Undine Injections in the Battlezones. Thats not entirely correct because if no one else is there its really hard to get your Implants/Injections

STO is becoming a game for "Elitists" (love that word) who like to brag about how good they are and how bad everyone else is.

Why not change the System again?

Normal:, easy as now, for fun, training, testing, grinding. Marks but no Processors.
Advanced: Same as old Elite. Processors Injections and marks

Elite: Harder but more than one processor/Injeciotn/Cell ... as reward (2 or 3), more marks and very rare Mk XII gear as reward.

    And Optionals become Optional again

So Elite would be for the Elite, for the real good players.

Is this one of those 'I have a sandwich, thus you can't be starving' threads that keep getting thrown around?

Though I see what the OP is saying, and I do indeed agree that Advanced should be achievable without extreme DPS, provided the players involved are paying attention... This however is where the problem lies...

It's all too common for people jumping into random STF's to not be paying attention and bring the 'optionals' undone...
The entitlement is strong in these forums...

I agree that advanced queues are not that hard but without a parser those 3 other geared players must have been putting out around 20k dps each. The cube and spheres died way too fast for just being 10k dps players later on the gateway dies in 22 seconds and then the tac cube in about 1 minute.

I have had groups where 2 people where putting out 30k+ dps another doing high 20's and the other 2 slightly in the mid 10's and we did't kill the gateway that fast.

Show us the parse because the way things were dying so fast and the claim they were 10k dps players does not add up.
