- I purchased the Delta Rising Pack before DR launch
- I purchased the lifetime membership yesterday
- I've probably purchased around 20k zen over a period of two months
- I purchased a ZEN ship every 10 levels when I first started playing
TL'DR - I've spent far too much money with you guys, and I don't mind as I enjoy the game. However, I'm one of those players that like to buy things I want, so I naturally sell keys (for example) to make EC to do that.
I login today to find the following error message when I tried to exchange ZEN for Dilithium...
"Due to recent purchase activity, your account is temporarily unable to sell Zen on the exchange"
Unless this is weird feature that comes with lifetime membership, I have no idea why this has happened. The only thing you have done, is angered a valued customer that used to spend money with you.
If it was thursday or before, okay you got good reason, rant away
I recall it being around Thursday yeah, noticed after the new update. Still haven't responded to my tickets, but I can see they've changed the category from billing support, to customer support (points)
Sounds like an error... you'd expect it needs to be dealt with by the billing team.

I've given up years ago trying to figure out why customer and billing support hand people off to each other
I have the EXACT same issue, and have also been lobbing money lately at them, my lock up started 5 days ago and still has not been fixed.
CS response after second exchange of tickets...
"We apologize for the inconvenience. Please be informed that we currently do not have a specific time frame for this probation. Please wait for further announcements in our Forums and Official Website regarding this issue."
So instead of submitting a ticket and getting a response, you decided to comaon about it on the forums first. Valued customer, that's funny. Some people think way too much of themselves. You are aware that you probably spend a very tiny fraction of what other players spend right? And that you don't matter as much as you seem to think you do.

Except he isn't the only one having the issue. And, the "response" as you put it, is as follows:
"Hello ,
Thank you for contacting us!
Greetings fellow Captain, I'm sorry to hear what happened. I have checked and this is due to your recent Zen purchase from Steam, your account has been placed on a temporary probation period, and you will be unable to use the Dilithium exchange or purchase unbound C-Store items until the probation ends. We apologize for the inconvenience, but Customer Service cannot remove or alter the duration of this probation.
Customer support is doing nothing for those hit by this issue, and using a template response without even addressing the issue (Steam isn't even in the picture here). How much he/she spends is irrelevant - simple customer service is. Your attitude, however, is far more relevant. Take that **** somewhere else kiddo.

Everyone who is an infrequent purchaser is hit by the issue. The system is doing precisely what it is supposed to be doing: giving you a probation period so that both you and PW have the option of contesting the transaction if it is fraudulent.
I understand the nerd rage: you bought it and you want it immediately without limitations. But I also understand that Gold Sellers are a real issue and keeping them from using stolen Credit Cards to buy 100 Keys and sell them for 300 million ECs on the Exchange - and then selling others the ECs on a website for $10.00 per million is also an issue.
A 10-day lockout is inconvenient but it will pass and then you will have the same options everyone else has to do whatever you want with the items - assuming it was not a fraudulent transaction. And once the system recognizes you as a non-criminal you should not have the problem again.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

The issue is, they triggered it without telling anyone -- and without notification. In my case, 10 of my keys DID NOT have a warning, and 10 did (and admittedly, I blitzed through not expecting anything different than the 3 seconds of purchase before that point). Yet, all 20 are bound. And, once bound, always bound - as their current stance suggests. That's the problem. 50mil EC is now essentially locked for me, and anything I get from just burning the keys on boxes, will also be locked. It follows the item.
I get gold sellers are the issue, but they implemented this poorly and are doing *nothing* to assist people who have been hit/locked out that are in no way the root cause of GS problems. The proper implementation is to tell people it's coming. Then roll it out. Have several CS personnel on standby to address the - bound to occur in any system - false positives. They've failed to do all of these things. It pisses me off more from an architectural standpoint than anything.
This is the first time ever that i come on this forum to complain about Cryptic and PW.
I am a lifetime member i spend ALOT of money in this game i buy zen, convert dilithium all to make EC on the exchange to level up my gear. AFTER i purchased i get the message that stuff i bought is bound.
And I am on probation?????? They should put Perfect World on probation.
You claim you have the right to alter the items I buy on your store?
My wallet has just put you on indefinite probation!!!!

My views may not represent those of Cryptic Studios or Perfect World Entertainment. You can file a "forums and website" support ticket here Link: How to PM - Twitter @STOMod_Bluegeek
We know what caused it, not why they started hitting people with it before the announcement and/or happening without visual warnings. Also, not addressing people's concerns about it (customer service).

extra info: i have used it for years and used it for EVERY purchase i made for sto
I received this notification after buying an item from the zen store
i was fortunate that at the moment i was buying the guardian cruiser instead of the r&d packages and master keys which i buy all the time the only reason i buy them is to sell them.
And now it looks like i am unable to purchase unbound stuff from zen transferred from the dil exchange.

i haven't bothered with a ticket.
extra info: i too have always used steam to buy zen, and actually, i have used it fairly often. i am extremely annoyed that there was no notice that i was on probation before i went to buy keys. thankfully i didn't, but it was still after i bought the zen, not before. at the very least, i would like a notice telling me when my "probation" is up.

So it's a sick cycle. People cannot then sell the item, cuz it's perm bound. But if they wait 10 days, is that enough to unlock the probation?

It has happened to a few other people. It's a bug I believe. Just submit a ticket and ask what's up.
It's proper to get at least get a half-assed response before getting upset. :P
I submitted a ticket some time ago, no response as of yet...

Everything you bought during that time remains bound which is disgusting!
But hey it appears they have enough money that they don't need further funding.
I've been a frequent purchaser of Zen (and Atari Tokens back in the day) since 2010, and I'm hit by this issue. It's not working as intended at all.
