After trying all sorts of missions and patrols this one still tops the XP. Battleship Royal Rumble will give up to 5K XP with some good loot but takes a bit longer and once you hit the cap you no longer get drops or XP.
Trying Argala on normal, advanced and elite, advanced tops the score at 8 min repeatedly making 5000 XP+, that's one tenth of a level, so you can make a full level in under an hour.
This was done in a double A2B Gal-X at 23% crtH, 4 phasers, gravimetric torp, heavy phaser turret (and console) and the experimental proton weapon (and console). It was so easy I could have increased the crtH whilst reducing resists making this run faster but I wanted to see what a reasonably good Gal-X can do it in. My Scim would clear this faster as would a good Narcine.
I should note that I was using a lot of warp plasma to stop the Kazon from running away, it lasts longer than a grav well and tends to group them nicely if you time the dump well.
I've not tested it on Eng or Sci, for them normal may still be better.
Hope that helps.

I've been doing Argala for the last few hours too, and recouped 3 of my 6 stolen Spec points. Did the first half in my Aquatic Carrier; then I realized I might as well train up Mastery for my Mobius while I'm at it.
my thought to lmfao

I can't possibly fathom an exploit. Argala is one of the systems they fixed: it should be safe now.
dAngelo said, if ist too good to be true, ist an exploit. so this is one.
You know, because Elite difficulty is supposed to take longer, and only give you the satisfaction of knowing that you did it, not that you used your time efficiently doing normals because Elite nets a marginal gain for so much more time.
inb4exploit
So, continuous grinding, reaping the XP they intended, is now exploitative too?! You gotta be kidding me!
Playing a fun game is definitely too good to be true... wait
No. You are making progress using ingame mechanics. Going by what's been happening lately, I think that's an exploit
Is logging in an exploit also now?
look at what happen before :P
system Lord Baal is dead
Ikr?!
Okay, then, for crying out-load, I'd like dev confirmation that patrolling Argala, solo, is not an exploit.
lol um? yes!? your read dAngelos posting. this is a perfect example for what he declares as exploit.
Then the man is insane, cuz he built an entire game around nothing but grinding! :P
The issue isn't the exploit, nor lack of xp/skill points. It's the lack of content/missions to fill the gap between each level. And should their be one gap, it shouldn't be so huge as it is with the Delta Rising.
People need *lots* of XP, regardless of mission gaps. I still have 9 or so lockbox ships that need their Mastery leveled out; not to mention needing to fill out my Specialization. That was all D'Angelo's own idea: I just do the grinding.
Under normal circumstances I wouldn't even consider it. But since what the devs pulled earlier...
- less EC
- less dilithium
- less Exp
- disastrous R&D
- less players
- more bugs
For 2015:
- dead STO game
Not that it was already gone to begin with. Still nice to have the illusion of being helpful for others, especially to escorts.
My main ship can soak loads of damage, but it can take a bit of time to pop ships out of existance.
Won't happen Exp gain is right where CRYPTIC wants it...non-existant. In 2 days ive gained half a level i used to get 2-3 a day with casual playing and doing STFs/PVEs.
Though I understand the feeling it doesn't make it right. I will say though judging from the evidence I've seen Cryptic is going to have to do something to appease players or this 'expansion' (hate calling it that, doesn't qualify as one in my book) is going to ruin the game.
It's a failure already but I'd like to think it is at least salvageable (wishful thinking I know)....
I honestly think the Tau Dewa Nerf had more to do with players not using DR Content to level than DAngelo is willing to admit.
They had more people lingering and leveling in Japori then all of DQ. That just didnt look good for their PWE Overlords when they go to give a progress report. The fact that it took them until DR released to realize there was some broken mechanic in Tau Dewa. I call bull****. Someone a long the way would have discovered that vague exploit DAngelo mentioned long before DR and theyd have been able to see it was there.
Im really unsure if theyll bother to nerf the Argala Advance Queues unless they believe itll hurt their bottomline.
