like most of you in that thread you jump the gun bye
I must confess, that thread went surprisingly well in most part. I note who was most wrongly offensive towards me there is still being wrongly offensive here too.
No but when you make a thread about i'm done, then come back not even a day later, and say , well I'm only doing PVP, is the problem why companies don't take people serious, because they can't even flowing through on their threats
That's why no one takes the forums seriously, and it's just My Entertainment at this point to just watch
If maybe people acted on things, this game would not be in the sorry state it's in.
Robbing me of 6 hard worked for Specialization points is the final straw for me. I was nowhere near Tau Dewa, and will not be lumped in with exploiters, no less get punished for things I didn't do.
As of now I'm boycotting this game. I just logged out, and will not continue to grind, apparently in vain, or spend any dime, whatsoever, until you get your act together, and restore my points, ALL of them, with extreme prejudice.
Another reason I will pause playing, is that I know how you guys operate. You'll send out one of your goons, telling us it's 'under investigation.' Meanwhile I'm building up XP anew, at a pettily reduced rate of 30% of what I used to get, only to see those points lost too when you 'fix' today's momumental TRIBBLE-up. Yeah. Fool me once, and all that.
Sorry but dont think this atttitude will take you anywhere. Cryptic's not fond of threats. Some older vet players waited around for ALL the bugs to be fixed before putting sometime into DR. There were LOTS of threads talking about "bugs" exploits that usually come with a new expansion or season and warning peeps to take a sabbatical till these get fixed. It's the nature of Cryptic....I stopped complaining since Season 5 with the big nerfing on SCI ships and also when when they nerfed the so called "Tour of the galaxy" exploit (S7 or so). This is not real life...you have a choice but venting out does not take one anywhere..take a break or quit but cryptic will stand the test of time with or without angry players...sorry just a reality check. If you dont believe check the forums in the archive section and will realize this from reading from those long gone a while back...there are more proper channels to express one's rage.
They "stole" from you, have any proof to back up your claim that they "stole" from you?
This is true, but the opinions of those who quit the game matter less than dirt, quite frankly, so why continue to post on a forum of a game you quit?
Actually, for a business, gathering valid information about why customers have left or continue to avoid your business is one of the most valuable types of data you can possibly have.
Dismissing it as "worth less than dirt" is nothing but petty spitefulness to protect the ego.
Now the increased XP gained (something that has been emphasized, and was rather obviously a unintended side effect) used by getting access to low-level mobs with high XP rewards.
Deny it all you wan't, you exploited the system... You took advantage of an unintended side effet.
It's not the teaming up that was the problem... It was abusing the easy kills.
And thanks to people who clearly abused this system, other people now have to deal with lost points.
Start pointing fingers at exploiters, rather than Cryptic... They brought this on people... not Cryptic.
Nothing about your argument is persuasive.
Your definition of an exploit needs to be read so peculiarly to include the actions taken by many players in the Tau Dewa sector.
I maintain that while there was an "exploitable" saddleback in the Tau Dewa patrol missions, players had no way of knowing whether or not it was intentional.
The players were not exploiting. They had no way to know there was a bug. Should they have reported it to the devs? Why would they even think to? Nothing about the rewards looked illegitimate. Faced with several levels to go after completing all episodes, players looked for an easy way to get to level 60 and found one by legitimate means.
You people who want to blame players for Cryptic's errors are off your rockers.
And that, man-friend, is precisely why I'm now boycotting the game: because, like you, they just expect me to grind those hard-earned points back. No. You don't steal from me. Period. It's become a matter of principle now. The buck stops here. Or a little more trek-y:
"The line must be drawn here! This far, no farther!"
Except it wasn't hard-earned, the expansion has been out for little over a week. Working on a Master's Degree in a university is hard work, getting your credits being put towards a degree rolled back is something to rage about. But all you've lost is several hours worth of time. And the game is going nowhere, so you have all the time you can want. Unless your terminally ill or something.
Yes it's something to gripe and complain about a bit, but you and many others are overreacting.

It's not a threat. Nor an 'I quit' post. I'm simply informing them that I think they crossed a line, and that I will suspend my gaming activities with them until they fix this, properly.
And don't think ppl never leave. Don't believe me?! Ask the good ppl at CCP how many EvE accounts I still have. I had 4: I canceled them all. I usually hang in there quite long; but I *do* have breaking points.

Grinding for a week or so really *is* hard-earned. Besides, it's the principle of it. I'm simply not going to re-earn what I already had. Period.
This does not make me angry at Cryptic. Instead I'm channeling anger into laughter. Holy TRIBBLE, this is so terrible. I don't believe people had their specializations rolled back as a result of power leveling, but rather, the adjustments to XP gains have resulted in this bug.
At this point, I honestly believe if you throw the textbook definition of "quality assurance" in Cryptic's faces, they'd just look at you with the most dumbfounded look on their face.
You're still not getting it. They were exploiting. They were because Cryptic said they were. Cryptic has final say on what is or is not an exploit. Period. End of discussion.
If they say beaming down to ESD is an exploit then it's an exploit. If they say warping out of the Q'onos system is an exploit then it is an exploit. It does not matter whether you think something is an exploit or not. What matters is what Cryptic determines is an exploit.
You and I and the whole STO playerbase may disagree with their decision, question their thinking and such, but ultimately it is Cryptic/PWE's game and they'll do with it as they see fit.
They called it an exploit to avoid owning up to their oversight in xp gain from the patrols.
Which is unnecessary, because it would still be breaking ToS 15.2I: "using or exploiting any bugs, errors, or design flaws to obtain unauthorized access to the Service or to gain an unfair advantage over other players;"

if your gonna leave then leave, i demand x or else is against the fct and same with rage threads as far as i am aware.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
I wasn't quoting you in that particular post... As I said: The exploiters are the one who created a problem that you, and others like you are being punished for (by mistake I have to assume).
I'm honestly still hoping this was a mistake, and will be rectified. I lost 6 points (or 7, I was too upset, so I may have forgotten one). That's nearly 300,000 (!) XP points. No way I'm gonna put up with that.

Sorry, I have a functioning prefrontal cortex and nothing in the ToS prevents me from using it.
"Cryptic said so" does not remove my ability or right to dissent or arrive at a different conclusion.

Especially not at 1/3 the xp rate as before.
So not only re-doing the same work again, but having to do 3x as much just to get back to where you were.
There's an awful lot of re-gifting going on in this expansion...
You and I and the whole STO playerbase may disagree with their decision, question their thinking and such, but ultimately it is Cryptic/PWE's game and they'll do with it as they see fit.
Ultimately it is I, the paying customer, who can do with my money as I see fit. I may decide to give it to Cryptic... or not.
Your prefrontal cortex isn't working right then as you've completely misunderstood my post in its entirety.
A player stated that the XP being gained was an exploit.
We don't know that since the devs are following the policy of not describing the exploit.
Ergo, you're talking out of your rear and just playing victim-blaming games.
Yeah, I perfectly understood your post. You didn't even bother to read the context of the snippet of part of a sentence you quote-mined and slammed the author for your own ignorance.
None of which has anything to do with Specialization Points being rolled back on players who never did anything in Tau Dewa, never grouped, nothing.

anywho, Popcorn is done, FLAME ON!
Picard back-tracked on that?! Okay, how's about I express my feelings for Cryptic with a little Taylor Swift then?
You and I walk a fragile line,
I have known it all this time,
But I never thought I'd live to see it break.

Yep. After that little scene Picard wanders off, the 2060's lady mentions Ahab and the whale, Picard reconsiders and orders the self-destruct.
Which Data then proceeds to deactivate once plot called for it.
LOL just SHAKE IT OFF...not real life...or DONT WORRY...BE HAPPY :D:D

Ooo, that's a wickedly good retort! Kudos!

/facepalm.

Did they reset points? I haven't played since the update...
