I never ran the Tau Dewa exploit. Yet I still lose 23 spec points?!?!?

This is truly unacceptable, Cryptic. You've crossed a line. I worked like crazy for those points. I put in hours and hours and hours. I worked hard and I worked smart, and I didn't abuse your dumb little exploit.
You are absolutely pitiful if you think it's right to abuse your player base in response to your own failures.
I've defended Cryptic for most of my time in this game. I've always given you the benefit of the doubt. I'm done with that. You've flat out robbed me.

Of course they're evil exploiters ... ALL OF THEM ... but to be serious it's Cryptic we're talking about, like they would have the resources to punish even "real exploiters" ... they never did it before .... sooo Bug/Glitch

Yup, I just lost 6 Specialization points. This is totally beyond unacceptable! I was never near Tau Dewa, for ****'s sake! I demand my points back. Yes, you read that right: DEMAND! This is the final straw for me.
It's okay, it's okay. Most folks agree that this is just a patch bug and not some sort of vindictive correction. There's a link earlier in the thread to post in the Bug Report forum.
what ppl agree with does not matter... it does not matter if it was a bug or not... the spec points are gone and its unlikely cryptic will take care of it
Winning on the forums will not take care of it....putting in a bug report will.

They do fix things. I don't understand their priorities or lack of communication, but things do, sometimes get fixed.
As long as you follow their protocols you can at least say, "I did what you told me to here's the ticket numbers, now what?"
you will get a bot saying blah blah blah and wait till it gets fix or like most things wait years

Yes, this is my greatest concern. It took em half a year to even look at the broken loadout system. And in the meantime we'll get the shaft, and are told just to rebuild those points again. TRIBBLE THAT!

Again, NOT defending their customer service at all, but bug reports get looked at and collated a helluva lot more than forum threads, even Bug Report forum threads.
It sucks, but that's the way PWE and Cryptic work,and have always worked, from what I understand.
A LOT of people are bothered by it. If the search function freaking worked you could see just how many with a click. I'm bothered by it, as I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get zapped when I can log in.
But just like the respec issue, the power tray issue, the broken borg alert issue, and those poor Mac barstids, it'll get seen to when it's seen to. The more bug reports they get the higher the likelihood of them doing something about it. Will we know if they are? No, and that's really, really naughty of their community manager, but that's the way they do business.
Most devs don't post what's wrong and why because they don't know yet, but most devs do at least say, "Yeah, we hear ya, keep your hair on." PWE/Cryptic doesn't and that's what's causing a lot of the bad vibes.
So, I am only going to post a bug report after the following:
1) The confirm it is a known bug
2) They can't fix it with a general patch and need to deal with you directly
By flooding them with bug reports about this, you are just slowing them down.

Don't get me started on in-game bug reports! They get >/dev/null-ed on arrival.
I think this is a good time for me to start boycotting the game. I refuse to play any further, without my 6 spec points back!

Actually no. The more bug reports they get the more data they get on the systems and setups the bug is happening on. The more but reports they get the more they have to collate. A lot of these errors don't get fixed because they don't know enough.
Data is good. Data is their friend.
LoL like this has anything to do with it ... you must be completely delusional if you believe this ... it's just a random Bug/Glitch ...
btw : I leveled some time in the Tau Dewa being stuck between Missions (even with Random Groups from hell) ... still got all of my Spec Points ... now please report me or something, and tell yourself Cryptic gives a rat's TRIBBLE to assign one of their 10 employees to check on everyone's Lvl-Progress ...
PS... to the OP. You may not have done tau dewa, but did you do elite patrol team matching anywhere? Even in the DQ?

At this point there's plenty of people who've reported it in on the bug forum.
Insisting that all discussion of this issue belongs there just seems like an attempt to keep the General Discussion area white-washed with "nothing to see here, everything about this game is 100% fine!"
These aren't mutually exclusive, either. You can report what happened to you in the bug forum. If you want to discuss the subjective impact of the bug on your gameplay enjoyment, this is actually the appropriate place for that (as that information is not pertinent to identifying the bug, itself).

Cryptic Locks down Tau Dewa in response to an 'exploit'. Then players lose Specialization points left and right and we're to believe its a glitch?
Sorry. Sounds a lot like the loss of points falls within Cryptics idiotic lockdown of an entire sector.
Can't speak for the OP, but I didn't do any of that either! Been busting my chops for days on end, solo-ing Elites patrols and doing PUG Advanced queues.
Under no circumstance, whatso-frakkin'-ever, will I just accept this loss and pretend not to care. I want my Specialization points back, ALL of them.
sure they have fixed things like loadouts , costume bugs , starship tailor bugs, . . . . oh wait , Never mind. they fix only what directly effects them , the numerous new bugs and bugs that keep reappearing every yr after any major code update havent been given any sort of acknowledgement of being fixed .there are tons of threads in the support forum that maybe 1% gets any sort of resolution .
thats the cryptic /PWE way . they claim its not cost effective , i call BS , its the lack of bugs fix is why things get so broken .
