What really grinds my gears is;
I leveled to 60
I then went back and did all the story missions I had never completed
Also I did some queued pve
And I cleared my available list completely.
Now I've got only 18 spec points left, from a fully completed toon, and now i have no content to get myself back to that position.

So what I've been told in the past is that the only way to get Cryptic's attention is to be nice to them. So lets try it.
Cryptic we would love to have a response as to why so many players are losing their captain specialization points? We greatly appreciate the DR expansion and love the work you do, we know there will be some bumps along the way. I just hope this bump is a short lived one.

As for me so glad I have none and so glad I waited ALL bugs to get fixed. They should have done their homewwork and fixed MAJOR issues brought up at tribble rather than ignore and launched a half TRIBBLE expansion...LOTS of peeps will be pissed with a good reason....however, what do you expected from Cryptic. If you have been here for the past 9.5 seasons dont believe for a minute things would go smooth...for those who were expecting bugs and not dedicated much time into it...good call but so sorry for all the bad development of this expansion caused to other players ...:mad:

Dude, that's nearly 300,000 (!) XP they took away from me. And I wasn't even near Tau Dewa! Sometimes the "Sh*t happens!" excuse just doesn't cut it any more. I can live (kinda) with devs giving me the endless runaround regarding the broken loadout system; but you just don't rob a person of 300,000 skill points (= the equivalent of ALL your space skills), and expect them to just SHAKE IT OFF (as you wittily retorted to my Taylor Swift quote elsewhere). And then tell those selfsame people they can grind it back at 1/3rd of the speed they could previously do it.
They took away my points as well. The only thing I did in tau dewa was red alert, romulan ground missions for marks and I farmed japori for two hours in total, SOLO.
What I'm not allowed to do patrol missions??????
I want my missing points back. Not next week, TODAY.
I have a feeling contacting support was as useful as turning the Moon into cheese with the power of the mind. But what can you do. Grind it all up again? Maybe not the best day for those questions!
Naturally the char in question is level 60. It's hard to get 14 spec points without leveling to 60 (impossible, unless the's some bug I don't know).
Seeing other people's replies, I'm happy I didn't level the char further, I might've lost even more.

Yeah, I played Japori a little bit, but it didn't seem to reward me with as many points as Argala, so about 99% of my time I spent there. The day DR dropped, I hit 60 playing in Argala. Pretty much all my time was spent there. So Cryptic, you better tell me this is a bug AND FIX IT. Give me a reason to keep playing this game. I don't spend my time here and hard work to have it all reset by you. Make this right, or I will work as hard as I did at EARNING my points to convince people NOT to play this game and spend money with you.

I have to say, DR has pretty much been verifying every player's pre-launch prediction of dread. I knew that they would TRIBBLE up Japori as soon as they detecting players having fun (can't have fun in STO. Nosirree!).
The fact is that people preferred to use places like Japori and Argala as unofficial STFs is because of one undeniable fact: the storyline for the missions are bad fanfic, extremely boring, the awarded XP is feeble, and the rewards are trash.
Just why have the Devs declared war on the players? TRIBBLE everyone isn't a good way to keep this game going.

I agree. This needs to be fixed NOW! Several people in my fleet have been screwed by this (myself included) and I'm so outraged that I feel like boycotting everything Cryptic. I've spent money on this game and I've never used any exploit for dill. I didn't do Tau Dewa patrols either. I was already angry with the decreased dill rewards for amped up stf's but this is completely unacceptable!
There is a new MMO, Star Citizen, that is starting next year that looks pretty awesome and I will take my money and as many people as I can to that game if this isn't made right. Fix this - NOW!!!!

I dont care if that sounds drastic, however i am an avid STO Forum Reader over the years.
So i did notice all the talk about the Tau Dewa Exploit and PURPOSEFULLY kept away from there and only used their Delta Quadrant stuff, like they obviously wanted us to.
Yet im still, like so many others, hit with a bug, or intentional punishment, whatever it may be.
Fun fact, a fleet mate who was doing Tau Dewa Patrols Solo all the time did not get anything reset.
So this had me lose all the little fun in the game i had left.
Looks like Space Citizen will see more from me from now on.

I feel your pain Frank. The wondering why you have been labeled an exploiter for playing the game. It isnt your fault. Its Cryptics. They failed at this completely.
Unfortunately they seem bent on driving this game into the ground within the next few months and this is just another step on that ladder. You can countless other innocent players have been affected by their terrible rollback coding, while many a guilty remains untouched.
Look past the small details of how it affects you and think upon what kind of company does things like that. Not one that I want to endorse, with money or praise.
I didnt mind the cash grab tactics so much, but this goes far beyond money grabbing.
This is some oldschool gangster stuff that most lawful civilized countries wouldnt tolerate.
You dont hang everyone in the bank when it gets robbed.
I took a years worth of vacation time off work to grind my nacels off (that's just three days). Continued to grind through the weekend, and before and after work every day.
Got my character a grand total of 39 specialization points.
Got home after a long day today, prepared to grind some more and found myself set back to 21 points.
That's 18 points of my vacation time robbed. I worked damn hard to get my 39 points. I took everything I had learned grinding levels in contentless eastern RPGs during my teenage years and put it to use in STO for the first time.
I don't think I have it in me to grind any more. I didn't exploit anything, I just worked hard within the game mechanics that cryptic designed.

im not the type of person to demand things, nor am i the type of person to rage quit lightly, i very rarly speak out on things in this game not because they dont effect me but because i realise how little i am worth to the devs, but here is the thing
im OK with the roll back of skills-- if they:-
1) warned us the MOMENT they decided not then wait for days for us to waste time they were going to steal from players
2) done the roll back fairly and properly NOT wiped some chars completely some not at all that i know have done this suposed exploit
3)put a statment out properly BEFORE the nerf
basically over the last 3 weeks ive put about 50 hours into this game if not more and now all of that is gone, ive lost confidence that anything i do will still be there the next patch coz i might do something they deem as not acceptable
so i am done im out i will not be returning to this game untill my hours upon hours of work are restored
i know people who have still got millions of dilithium from the last exploit that never got that removed and they literally got that in the space of a few days, i got my specialistaion trees by running the delta quad missions the DEVS made punishing the playerbase like this will only lead to lack of consumer confidence and inevitable quitting
i will continue to read the forums and hope they fix it, i wont make a sweeping statement about how it will make thier playerbase dwindle, but im sure me and the above quote are not the only ones

p.s epic marketing blunder there cryptic, distance your playerbase right when the market leader in rpg's is just about to release a new expansion, tho i supose you could blame any loss in log on time on that right not your incompetence
This has been handled terribly by Cryptic and I for one can't be bothered with the game any more.
Any motivation to log in has been sapped by their poor public relations in this matter, so many people are passionate about this game and are willing to support it through good and bad but this latest fiasco paints them as an uncaring company that covers it's mistakes by punishing the player base.
Cryptic will take the hit, brush it under the carpet and carry on regardless.
A friend just told me hes got 10 LEFT...well he was FULLY skilled before
LOL, that's about 3,045,000 skill points earned in less than 10 days to be fully done in the specialisation tree from level 50 by my maths (someone correct me if I'm wrong):
level 50 to 60 = 395,000.
50 specialisation points = 53,000 x 50 = 2,650,000
So about 240 hours since DR went live, about 12.5k skill points an hour, if they were up 10 days straight.
Out of all of the games that PWE has in it's collection, which are mostly a miserable bunch of martial arts garbage and effeminate WoW clones really, Star Trek Online is it's most well-known and moneymaking game. It is part of a major global media franchise for crying out loud! Why they would drag out this train-wreck and commit idiotic mass punishments like this is a freaking mystery.
I wonder if CBS knows what is going on over here? Perhaps it should be brought to their attention.

My points were reset and are only showing 11, but the button is greyed out.
