Mirror T5 Upgrade?

They told us all but mirror T5 will be upgradable. They are not. I have the Sovie you get for free when you get to 40. No upgrade availible. only zen t5's and fleet ships are upgradable. And 700 or so for that upgreade. Now consider the math. a T6 ship costs 3000. to get a T5 zen ship 2500, fleet module 500. so just buying the fleet ship is 3000, same as a T6. for the upgrade we go to the 700. we are paying 3700 zen for a ship that will not even equal a T6 in stats. RIP OFF!

Ship Tiers are related to Rank, though T5 is a bit of an oddity in that it has T5 (RA), yet also has T5 (VA) ships that are T5 yet require level 50+. The Tiers are as follows:
Tier 1 = Levels 1+
Tier 2 = Levels 10+
Tier 3 = Levels 20+
Tier 4 = Levels 30+
Tier 5 (RA) = Levels 40+
Tier 5 (VA) = Levels 50+
Tier 6 = Level 50+
*I left that in terms of Starfleet rank for ease of communication. STO Wiki has a list of Playable Starships that sorts ships by Faction and Rank/Tier, if you're interested.
That list of upgradable ships has been there for well over a month; and was linked in the blog regarding ship upgrades.
I haven't paid enough attention on that for a month. I thought it was settle before that. That only certain lockbox ships and mirror ships would be excluded.

Again, please read the notes.. that blog regarding what is upgradeable and what isnt, was posted just after the Vegas announcement. While i do agree that your level up Sovie is a great ship, just because you consider it to be of upgradeable quality, unfortunately doesnt make it so. (Tasha Yarr voicover) 'As the blog clearly states, Starships with a Dilithium or Rank-Up Token cost are NOT included in the upgrade system.
Yes I do believe so. heck the mirror should not excluded either. But the whole ship issue has been screwed up from the get go. Delta Rising is a true failure.
I'm fine with it so far, there have been a few 'teething problems' so im just going to pootle along for a few days before travelling to the DQ and getting properly stuck in. Ive purposefully tried to keep an open mind and not allowed myself to get too caught up with x,y and z expectations.. I can be my own worst enemy there lol.
Although it has to be said.. My kdf toon is really really really going to miss his Mirror Voq'uv
So keep flying it.
All my characters have ships that they fly regularly that don't qualify for upgrades, but I'm still gonna keep flying them.
I really don't think having an ungraded ship is really gonna matter that much.

I would have pay to upgrade it.
I'm not going to buy a T5 ship to upgrade. (waste of money)
I'm going to wait until I'm a level 60 and then buy a T6 ship.
You're certainly entitled to your opinions. But, clearly, the evidence shows that they didn't lie about which ships would be upgradeable and which would not.
You're not going to be allowed to make those kinds of accusations. Especially since I've shown you where to find the official posts where they listed the details and answered some of the questions people might have had.
You'll have better luck lobbying (within the rules) to have an upgrade path for the ship(s) you want. However, I suspect they have strong reasons for not upgrading those ships or they'd be on the list.

Sorry if i thought that months ago what ships were and weren't being upgraded was decided. Porrly in my opinion since alot of people have half their ships be the mirror versions of others.
And the last I heard was the mirror, T4 and below zen ships were not. the t5 award ships like T5 Ambassador, Oblisek Carrier, anniversary Oddy. were not. So I thought by standard fleet sovie was upgradable.
Here's what Cryptic (more accurately Craptic should do. At least in regards to the whole ship issue.
Have ALL T5 ships upgradeable. The price of fleet module and upgrade lesson considerably Right now on the upgradable ships it would cost overall to get maxium performace of the T5 ship will be 3700 zen. T6 ships cost 3000. So we are paying 700 zen more for the ship that will not match a T6 ship at it;'s full potential. That is a simply rip off. Fleet module should be 250 zen and upgrade 100. That keeps it below 3000 Zen. If the upgrade was equal to T6, a prefeered thing by note. Then 250 for fleet and upgrade each. making it even price with a T6 ship because face it Bluee geek other than Daunless and Guardian for the fed. Those T6 ships suck.
While the Mirror Ships do come from lock boxes, they are not considered "Lock Box Ships". All "prized" lock box ships have 10 consoles. Mirror ships are merely considered to be consolation prizes and are basically the same as the free ships, but with a Boff station variation. However, in the end they are still ships with just 9 consoles and have no special abilities.
People who spend Zen / EC on lock boxes in search for a lock box ship are not looking to for a consolation prize, they are looking for the ship that has the extra console and unique abilities. The mirror ships do not have much value so they are put up on the Exchange so the they can at least get some EC the cover the cost for a master key. The exception would be the Mirror Negh'var which are generally sold for 8 million ECs. If you get a consolation prize, the Negh'var is what you want because if someone purchases it, you will have enough EC to by 3 more master keys from the Exchange to try your luck for a "true" lock box ship. The Mirror Mogai sell for at least 2.4 million EC on the Exchange which just about covers the cost of another master key.
In the end you can gripe all you want about how or why you think a Mirror Ship should be upgradeable. But in the end Cryptic did release a list of ships that clearly stated which ships are upgradeable and which ships are not.

it's how it should work. One time that sovie fended of a Galaxy X and an oddy and even got first blood in a fight. They are forcing me to by a ship I don't want to even get it upgraded.

The T5 Sovereign class cruiser is a fine ship and you should be able to play all DR content on normal without issue. If you are looking to play the new Advanced or Elite STFs, then at that is your choice. Cryptic has increased the difficulty due to many people whining about how STO is simply too easy of a game.
If you are looking for sympathy, then I offer you mine because I really like flying my T5 Sovereign class cruiser. However, I want to be able to play Advanced STFs so eventually I will be purchasing a T6 ship. I am currently trying to finish off the main story missions at a decent pace depending the amount of time I can devote to the game. I am also waiting for other new T6 ships (especially KDF) to be released so that I have a wider selection. I would like to continue to use my T5 Sovereign class cruiser, however it's time has a ship that is capable of handling challenging missions have come and past. If I want to play the more challenging missions now, then I must move on...
You can continue to whine if you want, but it will simply fall on deaf ears because it has already been set in stone by Cryptic which ships are upgradeable and which ships are not.
It's not how it should work. How it should work is what is in-game right now. Don't like it, tough.
The fact that all over the boards you have people leaving because of this expansion.
Let's point out some things. 1 over half the fed ships don't even look fed. They are Tron ships and have been bashed repeatedly for it.
2 the upgrade system is a joke. 3700 zen to upgrade a zen T5 ship that will in the end not be equal to a 3000 Zen T6 ship. That is completely overpriced.
3 not all T5 ships are upgradable. this is stupid in the extreme for i have always seen some Star Cruisers and Sovies flying around. Or in KDF circles neghvar, and Vorcha, and Vo'quv. And given the popularity of the mirror ships which are technically lockbox ships really stupid and big middle finger to the KDF which lack alot of T5 zen ships.
4 STF completely wrong. they should have added a new bar so we have normal, advance (old Elite), and Elite. problem sloved. But also the complaint is not even a smarter AI just HP increase as well as number of foes.
5 Number of things requiring dil have gone up again and with the STF nerf we don't get as much dil there anymore.
6. buggy as hell. I played the first mission and the harry kim battle was bad. This whole expansion pack feels rushed and poorly done.
The Upgrade system being a joke is only your opinion... same with the other points you made..
Oh, and in case you missed my "agreement" with you, that was sarcasm. I don't belive you, nor should I. What people do with their own time is their business, if they want to leave this game for whatever reason, more power to them. That definitely doesn't mean that Delta Rising is a failure.
Every idiot I've seen say "I quit" hasn't quit yet, they just are immature and think Cryptic will listen to their demands like terrorists.
