Now when i started the steam starter it showed another 6.67 patching being done?
Is this new expansion 12 gigs?
I only had a ~6gb patch after closing STO last Friday evening to do some party. When I returned the patch was done and no additional were implemented the past few days then. Funy thought to get home later after work and see another 6gigs!

That's strange. I only downloaded a 3 gig patch last week and now I am downloading another 3.4 gig patch. Mabey after this is will make me download the 6 gig one?
i downloaded the 6gigs patch last week but it look like im doing it again already a gig oand half on the second line
just started my patching too and I got the same...my already patched pre-patch files where deleted in the first second so i know they weren't switched with the old active files because it takes longer as one second to move them and now its downloading the 6.6GB patch again
Why in the hell is there a pre-patch when it doesn'twork?
You are only giving false hope to someone who only has 360KB/s download speed
Well after downloading the 3 gig patch it takes me to the Delta Rising loading screen so I guess that means I am done for now. I say for now because I would be willing to bet on an emergency patch after the maintenance is done.
Why in the hell is there a pre-patch when it doesn'twork?
I was about to post pretty much the same thing.
I got the pre-patch starting last week. I even updated Tribble. Load up the launcher today and start downloading the patch. I figure it's cool as there were probably some minor fixes being added and that at least SOME patching would be required.
Well, I've downloaded over a gig so far and have patched roughly 30% of 6 plus gigs.
Why in the world do I bother downloading all this TRIBBLE multiple times in order to be prepared for launch day, only to not have any of it matter? This has happened to me EVERY single update/season since Legacy of Romulus.
So, here I am, having downloaded a 6 gig patch twice last week and now I get to do it a third time. And yeah, I know that I'm not actually downloading 6 gigs, the patch is 6 gigs and the actual download is smaller. Even so, I've done everything that's been suggested to make "patch day" go easier, only to have none of it matter.
Thank the stars that I don't have a download cap, because if I did, I'd probably be in serious danger of going over after all this seemingly useless downloading.
And the really stupid thing is, I keep downloading the pre-patch and updating Tribble in the apparently vain hopes that "This time, it'll work." Luckily I know I'm insane so I guess it fits.

Guys prepatch has never worked for me i allways have to do a full patch download on patch day.
Dont forget to go to options on the patch client and click force verfi once its got todays patch
for the record, you folks are not downloading 6 GB patches. if it says 6gb patched, that means it is patching that much data that is already on your computer, with a smaller amount of data that is being downloaded.
it is possible to patch 1500 GB of data with 1KB of data. it just depends on what is being changed.
It took about four minutes... T/W must be pokey today.

Took about an hour to patch my game, but I'm all set now. I refuse to do on demand patching, makes things worse.
I turned that feature off the day it hit the game.

Yes, I know that, I even stated as much in my prior post.
It doesn't change the fact that I have so far this morning DOWNLOADED 2 gigs worth of data and have only PATCHED about 45% of 6+ gigs.
I don't have the fasted internet connection, so I do everything I can to avoid having to download huge patches the DAY an update hits. Which is why I download the pre-patch, which is why I update Tribble. The problem is, the game/patcher/launcher doesn't realize I've done ANY of this and decides to re-download the patch. Meaning that all the time I spent being prepared is wasted. All in the hopes that it actually won't be.
If I had only 1 single complaint about the game, this would be it.
I can live with imperfect models and uniform options that clip.
I can live with having to lower my graphic settings in order to play and the lag that is seemingly ever-present while doing events in certain circumstances. (such as the Crystalline Catastrophe and the Undine space battlezone)
I can live with out-right bugs that 'ruin' the game experience until they get fixed, if fixed quickly. Honestly, I can't think of a single bug that prevents me from playing at least some part of the game, although I do know that some people have bugs that do.
What I can't stand having to live with is doing all this downloading to prepare for new seasons/expansions only to have to sit and wait while it downloads the whole thing again on the day of the update.
Make the updater actually 'see' that the blasted update has already been downloaded! Is that asking too much?

read carefully: the top line is the patching of the files on your PC. the bottom line is the download of files from cryptic.
you are not downloading 3 or 6 gigs multiple times.
Anyway....mine is bigger than yours Patch of course...

Yes, I'm already patched and waiting for the login server to be up.

a few days ago the auto-patcher stopped showing up, and I breathed a sigh of relief knowing it's ready for patch day.
I get up today to find only 500MB was actually patched. WHY DID THE AUTO-PATCHER STOP, THEN?
