Scimitar the TIGER TANK of STO

Is it just me or do i see a heck load of SCIMITARS over the last few days!! it sure feels like those big tigers entering mid WW2. great ship loads of fun ... one the the few cryptic got right! feels so over engineered with its squishy hull and 5 tac consoles just like the tiger tanks of ww2 ;-) BIG guns average life span lots of zen ;-)

    FORGOT TO mention T5U scimitar comes with the extra engie console ....anyone have thoughts on this beast? im really thinking of getting one!!

    Comparing the Scimitar to a Tiger suggests you don't know much about the Tiger...

    You got the Scimitar's 'glass cannon' style right... However German Tigers, and especially the Tiger II, were far from 'glass cannons' as the Allied tanks that were going up against them could barely scratch them...

    Only thing the Allied tank crews had going for them were numbers, speed and maneuverability... The American Shermans had to get behind a Tiger to have any chance of taking them out in most situations...

    Just saying...
    The entitlement is strong in these forums...

    The beauty of the Scimitar Warbird is that it is an extremely capable tactical ship. As for the squishy hull that is debatable my scimitar runs 12k dps and is virtually immortal in PVE with the odd invisitorp killing me once in a blue moon.

    If you're thinking the Scimitar is squishy, you've built her wrong or are playing her wrong. And the Tiger Tanks of WWII weren't exactly squishy either.

    Badly outnumbered and underproduced? Yes.
    Burn through fuel? Yes.
    Overengineered? Yes.
    Powerful armaments? Oh yes.
    Bad protection? Oh hell no.

    Thank you "Imruined". Although I think the British "Firefly's" had a fair chance at the flank of a
    Mk-VI (Tiger I).

    There was a discount sale on ships recently. That's why everyone who wanted a Scim snagged one.

    And BTW, even the dreaded Tiger got P'WNED by the Allies' Super Pershing.

    Awesome input gents ive been ntipicking the build ...lol it feels squishy cause the ship is darn big (which is uber cool may i add) but one forgets to move around with the thing!! lol ... so seems to take alot of the heat and get hit alot !!! seems to be taking the most damage in most stfs ( i dont have that threat reducing EMO console yet but working on that... been doing about 16k to 18 k dps so far is that any good for the scimitar? how are you guys doing with your ships ? ok DPS aint everything agreed but darn this game is so meant for DPS lol

    The engagements by the Pershings (of any type) were so limited and soooo late in the war (combat in March, war ends in Europe in April) that they're an afterthought in WWII armored warfare. In contrast to the Tigers and their history. Not to mention the Soviet IS-2's, though late entrants into the war, saw a lot of action and could kill the best of the Panzers.

    There have always been a ton of Scimtars around everywhere and the Scim isn't squishy.

    no no dont worry its squishy at first but after a bit of grinding and getting the right layout and build im pretty sure its pretty awesome. im heading there ... grinding for the candy !! but gottas ask is there anything fed or kdf side that has the same challenge ?

    the new ships!! sigh i really want to try em but they just dont feel star trek sadly ... ill just save my chicken little bit of lobi for a lockbox ship in DR that does not need the an extra 600 lobi in consoles for special powers ...

    T34 - Excelsior
    M4 Sherman - Cheyenne/Dakota/Stargazer
    Cromwell - Ambassador
    Panther - Vor'cha
    T35 - Galaxy
    Jagdtiger - Galaxy Dreadnought
    Maus - Obelisk
