Here is a simple and strait forward discussion, I offer you 3 questions.
1> What would you like to see added to the game?
2> What would you like to see removed?
3> What content brings you back to the game?
Answer as many that may apply, being as detailed as you wish. This will not only put into perspective the game for you, but it shall also give the Developers more accurate feedback to work with.
New Lunar Republic
"Where monsters rampage, I'm there to take them down! Where treasure glitters, I'm there to claim it! Where an enemy rises to face me, victory will be mine!" -Lina Inverse
1: I would like to see the Gamma Quadrant become a pure Exploration Zone with a combination of Sandbox and Story Mission Content.
2: PvP. I do not believe it is serving any real purpose other then filling in the notch that all MMOs need PvP. The war-games thing just does not fly with me for a Trek MMO.
3: I am a Trek fan and a gamer.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.
1. I'd like to see more content on home worlds. There's more to do on New Romulus than on Earth, Vulcan and Andoria....more content and more home worlds...like Trill or Betazed or Ferenginar
2. I can't really think of anything I'd remove from the game.
3. It's Star Trek
Your pain runs deep.
Let us explore it... together. Each man hides a secret pain. It must be exposed and reckoned with. It must be dragged from the darkness and forced into the light. Share your pain. Share your pain with me... and gain strength from the sharing.
1. A good number of DQ species parts (gratis) and clothing options (c-store) added to the tailor.
2. A small chunk taken out of level 60 NPC health.
3. Customization. This is my crew, my ship, my world essentially. I can dable in what other writers have come up with in the foundry or episode series, but unlike any other game I can generate my own supporting cast [in addition to my player character] and put them through a basic story structure to expand on it and let it be replayed in many, many different lights.
There's a lot of depth to be had there, plus some good, inoffensive ground and space combat.

1: This might be a weird answer but more music like what we have on New Romulus or even the Undine Battle zone. Nothing breaks immersion more then boarding a Borg cube and having that happy federation tune start playing...
2: Can't really think of anything. I don't like it when games remove content.
3: Its Startrek and dispite what other people may think it s a great game.
Functionality for the 'information' tab on other players should be properly coded, ie: when someone is in space I shoudl get to see their ship, noth their shuttle, and on ground, the fields should be populated, ie what race they are etc. Fix it or remove it, it hasent functioned properly since 1.0
Feedback Pulse removed, or revamped at least, the pve mechanics making this skill equal to everything else makes it the ultimate one press I win button in pvp. PvP and PvE mechanics should be seperated, like they are in every other game.
The trek keeps me comming back, and the amount of developer interaction is very nice.
1. A way for us to have something like an FE arc exclusively onboard the same ship.
I know our many and varied interiors make this next to impossible to have on our own ships, but a mission arc where our characters are sent to act as an advisor to another ship could work.
1. Diversity... The Fed, KDF and Romulans are basically one single faction wearing different uniforms. Sure they fly different ships, but in general all factions have access to the same abilities which means the is nothing really unique about any of the factions.
The one exception is the Singularity Core in Romulan starships which gives you 4 singularity abilities, but it comes with a 40 point power penalty.
Wanna cloak? Play Romulan or KDF or purchase the Defiant / Galaxy Dreadnought for the Federation. Plasmonic Leech? It should have been exclusive just to the KDF. Wanna fly a pure science ship? Go Fed... oh wait that is already the case... KDF and Romulan factions don't really offer much selections for pure science ships.
2. Bugs... take away bugs. On the flip side of #1 take away the homogeneous nature of the factions or should I say faction...
3. Space combat with a F2P model. It's nice that it is Star Trek, but nicer since it is F2P. Eve Online is probably closer to the type of game I actually want to play, but that game is more or less pay to win so... no thanks.
"Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Its continuing mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to go boldly where no one has gone before."
At the moment, not a lot fits that.
1. Less blowing stuff up where not faction appropriate. Ok, blowing stuff up is part of Star Trek, but that should belong primarily to KDF and Rom factions.
Starfleet of course, holds itself to a "higher" standard than "Come in peace, shoot to kill" of STO's Federation, disabling and taking prisoners should be typical, not one offs.
1. All ships to have universal seating - STO is a Star Trek game, supposedly, and thus every ship should be equally valid a choice at endgame. Boff restrictions cripple far too many ships, and universal seating doesn't make actual difference, there is already a ship to suit every desire.
1. Better NPCs, and better usage of NPCs - cannon fodder is just plain untrek, and it describes every NPC in STO.
1. More Klingon stuff - Cryptic does it really well, and it is such a shame they do not do more.
1. The KDF is a force of warriors, not a bunch of do-gooder space hippies. Every KDF ship to receive tactical buffs to be more canon.
1. Every ship available at FT5-U or T6, no exceptions - All non-T5 already T1s being a real money only (like LTS) purchase as a CBS bribe, I'm sure they will turn a blind eye for a large enough sticker price...
1. Motorsport. Tour the galaxy is a good start now it has a 15 minute timer, but we need more. In particular, I want a Vo'Quv GT racing series - you have not lived in STO until you try a proper full on racing Quv. It is insane. Mine even scored a PvP kill via ramming speed...
2. Starfleet is a coastguard, not a damned military. Every 5 Tac console Fed ship to be downgraded, only the Defiant spared.
2. Just because it exists in MMOs, doesn't make it a good idea. Case in the Trinity - some of the IPs most important ships are crippled for the sake of the Trinity, so remove it.
2. Bugs. Kill them all.
3. I came for Star Trek. I remain for my Fedside Fleet, VPvP, RP PvP, and KDF PvE repeatables. Cryptic removed all the rest of the Fedside bits I liked...
There are plenty of redshirt ensigns who would disagree, if they weren't dead.
yeah being a red shirt and dying is more Trek than exploration

1) I too want a fleshed out gamma quadrant, in addition I want multiple support heal and repair skills to matter more in both environments. (What I would completely love is to have the story between Jake, Kasidy, and Sisko resolved) I want Ben to finally make it home to Bajor, I want to see
a resolved story in which the Gamma quadrant needs Starfleet assistance, and the emissary will be a contact to the player regarding "The Trial of Tears" in which Avery Brooks voices over a mission to experience past historical events. Each trial based on individual orbs of prophecy, each a parable which takes the player to helplessness moments and what if scenarios. All culminating in a ultimate trial, but spiritual prophetic ending.
2) Being able to swap ability consoles during combat.
3) Cryptic's love for Trek as well as it's fans love for Trek.
yeah being a red shirt and dying is more Trek than exploration
Indeed. I mean how many survey missions did we see go according to plan. :P

Take them away please.
3. Same as everyone else.
Star Trek.
I don't know... I suppose I'd like to see missions... Branching, good missions, 3 or 4 times the amount we have now, AND the same for Queued missions.
2> What would you like to see removed?
Lock-boxes
3> What content brings you back to the game?
None... My fleet makes me log in... Remove them, and you remove me.

Geko
Was PVP, nothing recently
Cool rant.
2. The Neverwinterization of STO
3. Its Star Trek, but due to the Neverwinterization, I am logging only to push the crafting along.
2: I'd like to see any unnecessary combat removed from the Federation campaign (see P'Jem for example)
3: I came for the Trek, I stay for what's left of the Trek.
i come back for the story
they is nothing i would remove from the game just because i dont play it does not mean others dont like it.
