Did'n geko say something along the lines that what was in the DR pack, was DR pack only?
He didn't. All items in the Delta Rising Pack will become available for individual purchase on October 14th (excluding the titles).
Next to that being an incredible stupid decision for their paycheck, imagine the glorious forum rage when nobody who doesn't have a large amount, but still some, of money cant get a T6 ship or T5U upgrade tokens (those are in the pack).

It would be glorious.
I was sure I read that somewhere. Anyways, thanks for the clarification...
On a side note: Since when does cryptic care the slightest about forum rage...
Also, just because the current ships would be locked into the DR pack, dosen't mean that future ships won't be publicly accessable...
Even so, as it stands, chances are alot of people won't be able to afford the ships anyways... i know I won't... I simply don't have the money to dish out, or the time to grind dil for it.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...

They still have to show me something I'd actually go after before I would even use my resources on lol. Funny part though is players are QQ'ing over the look of the fed ships where as KDF players don't really care because we take what we can get.
On the trend of the last few releases. Im taking a guess its going to be 2500 zen. That said i would appreciate it at 2000 zen as well. The pack does sound like a good price to go for but , rand to dollar conversion make that pack in the thousands for me. I dont have that much cash to drop atm.
Did the ships in the packs get released on the day of the legacy expansion?
I think history will show us how much and what time a individual ship will be availble.
As for the devs, i love the new eclipse and wouldnt mind testing it out before i fly into a unknown zone.
Whether you think you are right or wrong, either way you are RIGHT.
Sooner they release prices the sonnet I know if I am buying a Delta pack or only two ships.
Let's put it this way....
When it comes time to buy, you'll know. However I'm guessing that the cheaper option is going to be the two ships by a very significant margin.

the individual ships are gonna be in the 25-30 buck range. they're not gonna be cheaper then existing t5 ships.
geko said in one of the podcasts that the purple intel boffs won't be in the cstore. he also said the doffs will be in the new delta doff packs, but they'll be random in the packs and there's no guarantee you'll get the purple ones when you buy the doff packs.
I am in no big rush to buy a T6 ship. I can wait for actually prices to be released before making a purchase. I am guessing a T6 ship will be $30 USD or 3,000 Zen. Making T6 ships the same price as T5 ships would simply kill most incentive to purchase T5 ships unless people are looking to purchase the ship for aesthetics / nostalgia reasons since an upgrade token would also need to be purchased to make them competitive with T6 ships.
It would be nice if T6 did sell for $25 USD 2,500 Zen and the cost of lower tier ships would be permanently decrease appropriately, but I doubt this will happen.

Except that they didn't go that route with fleet-equivalent ships. 2,500 for a galaxy X, 2,500 for a vesta. That's the price of a "top tier" ship and even if they're moving the bar on what stats those have what people are willing to pay may not change (because unlike stats its constrained by real factors). Economically, keeping T6 to 2,500 zen makes some sense and given how cryptic has thrown nine of those into the DR bundle [plus other gear] without jacking up its price releative to the LoR bundle they may be heading in that direction. They could still just as easily decide "no, 3,000 zen is right." It is a rather arbitrary decision after all how much pieces of a video game should cost you, but I think its right to consider it a toss up at this point.

I agree. It would be very nice to see the T6 ships priced at 2500 and have the price on T5 dropped to 2000, but I think it's more likely we'll see a 3000/2500 pricing setup.
120k Dil (Free @40)
200k FC (non-Fleet Fleet)
Mirror Universe (non-Lock Box Lock Box)
Event Reward (Single Mission)
2000 ZEN
2500 ZEN
T5 10 Console
2500 ZEN (Also available in bundles with a reduced price per ship.)

Lobi (Lobi via Lock Box)
Promo (the 275 ZEN Lock Box, ahem)
Event Reward (Extended Event, not Single Mission)
1 to 5 FSM (Fleet, @500 ZEN per FSM)
So just looking at taking a ZEN boat to Fleet or picking up a Fleet boat, one could be looking at 2000 to 3000 ZEN to do that. For those that purchase the T5 ZEN version before getting the Fleet variant, you're looking at an average of 2500 ZEN to get to the T5 10 Console boat that way.
Then you take a look at going T5-U with that boat at an additional cost, eh?
Wouldn't that be where you'd be looking at the pricing on the T6 boats...in that area or higher, no?

I sense a lot of incoming forum RAGE on the 14th.
Well excuse me for having enormous flaws that I don't work on.
the game will drop intel boffs on you just like they do tac, sci, and eng but only ships with a specialist slot will be able to use their intel abilities. for everyone else they'll just be tac, sci, or eng boffs. eventually cryptic's gonna add other specialist types too. so you can still have purple intel boffs, just not those 3.
I just wish I knew how much they(and the ship upgrade tokens) were so I had an idea of how much to set aside ahead of time. (If you want me to buy something, give me time to budget it!)
Waiting for so long.. just makes me think marketing is trying to hide something - like an excessive price tag.

just assume each ship's gonna be 25-30 bucks and you know how much to set aside: 25-30 bucks for each ship you want. likewise with the tokens. they're either gonna be 5 or 10 bucks. so plan on 10 and maybe you'll get lucky and they'll be 5.

The minimum possible price would be 3000. However this will not happen because the upgrade from T5 will make those ships cost either 3000 or 3500.
So the minimum price will be 4000 for T6. I think there's an outside shot they will go 5000, maybe with a bundle for 10,000.
Upgrades will be 500 or 1000 - tossup.

But are T6 ships analagous to T5 ships with a T5-U upgrade or a T5 Fleet ship with the same?
The former, so assuming a 500 zen T5-U upgrade your choices from the c-store are these.
2,500 zen - 10 Console T5-U
3,000 zen - 10 console T5-U
3,000 zen - 11 console T5-U[fleet]
If T6 ships cost 2,500 zen they will either be the same price as, or somewhat cheaper than, the alternatives which is par for the course with 10 console c-store ships now. If 3,000, they will either be the same price as, or more expensive than, the alternatives [since you would need to buy a fleet ship module in order to get something at T6 with equivalent base stats to a T5-U Vesta, Bortasque, DSD, or Scimitar] which is unusual.
Basically.... Cryptics T6 options
2,500[10] - 3,000 [11] - Similar Range
3,000[10] - 3,500 [11] - Different Range

Still...a lot of money for a new player to plunk down, especially if it's not on sale. I wouldn't want someone new to buy an LTS only to decide 2 weeks from now that they don't like STO.

Yah but only if you know you're going to commit and commit heavily to this MMO. Except in some very rare and self-motivated circumstances I can't recommend that. As a new player it would definitely help to get the habit of using saved dilithium and its exchanged zen as their primary means of support in STO. If they find themselves wanting more than that, then they should consider a few supplemental zen transactions. If they want more than that, then look into the pricer options (packs, subscriptions, and the LTS). Build up to it, because that way you know more about what you're getting into (and what you might be able to do instead).

Only way I could see T6 being less than 3000-4000 zen is if T5's prices will be reduced because of the upgrade costs associated with them and a new tier of ships coming with DR and the T6s that will come later.
How bad will T5 store ship sales suffer is what I'm curious about. If they are roughly the same prices as T6, why not just buy a T6 ship unless you specifically want a certain ship?
