People, Smirk is sitting comfortably on 770 DPS. Now I know he can switch to Dev God Mode, but for these tests, I feel rather sorry for his teams. As in they are trying their best to test it. Having a 770 guy is really not helping.

Come, come, you're talking about Cryptic. They have never heard about Klingons and their part in Star Trek.
Question: what's the balance between klingon and federation content throughout the series? :P

Was on his team for 2 of his attempts there. I would love to see him showing off better builds, but he is using builds that match what a very large portion of this game uses. As seen with his first Battle of Korfez attempt, where the team had no chance of beating it due to not having enough DPS.
The only reason he got through it in the end is because he was carried through by a 3/5ths DPS team, and the fact that we could carry someone through what is supposed to be an Elite queue is sad. The Battle of Korfez needs to be buffed, it's too easy compared to the other Elite queues.
Thanks to everyone who joined us for the show. We had a great time bringing you a taste of the Guardian Class Cruiser, and cannot wait to show you the Dauntless next week.
Congrats again to our winners! We hope you enjoy your prizes
Tribble is now down for maintenance, but we will see you all on social and in Holodeck.
Thanks again, and only 11 more days until we bring you Delta Rising!
Been answered couple of times that the RMC got nerfed by the Devs BEFORE the stream, what Smirk didn't know. He apologised on cam for that after he found out.
Do you know how many messages Smirk gets per day, asking the same things over and over?
And everyone wants an answer from him.
While this is mostly true, the code was modified as a result of its being spammed over social media, according to a later statement by Trendy once Holodeck came back up (credited to monkeybone13). What I'd like to see is Smirk or Trendy directly stating that they'd heard and understood the issue we had with it and would run it up the chain. Sure, everyone wants an answer from him, but for many of us it's the same answer to the same issue... which makes it much easier to respond to.
If it's corrected, give us acknowledgement that our concerns had been heard and that the company had decided to honor the original intent of the promotion. An apology from those that made the alteration would also be nice, even if it's merely relayed via Smirk or Trendy. It's not Smirk or Trendy that owe us the apology, though; as I've said elsewhere, one can make a reasonable assumption that no CMs were involved in a decision that penalizes the community for promoting the game in social media.
If it's not corrected, give us acknowledgement that our concerns had been heard and the company felt that its reasoning for the change was warranted... and that in the future all promotional codes would have clearly stated terms, such as the restriction NOT to post them in social media or in the forums. If something is going to be a single character unlock, this information will be provided to Smirk and Trendy, and will be listed in the promotional materials themselves.
The major issue is not that the RMC was a single character unlock, it's the gross miscommunication without any appropriate acknowledgement or remedy, both with the players and CMs. We were explicitly told that it was an account unlock and no warning was given in advance that it was intented to be a single character unlock. Further, it was modified from an account unlock without any indication or warning to the players or CMs. If those that altered the code had warned the community about sharing the code or given the CMs a heads up that they did alter the code, this would not be an issue.
That does not mean that honoring the original intent to make the RMC an account unlock wouldn't go a LONG way towards mollifying those that actually watched the Livestream and were outright told it was an account unlock... and then told it was our fault it was altered because a few folks re-posted the (time-restricted and Arc mandatory) code.
Parsing aside, the Livestreams would be much more interesting if they were played under the same circumstances that players will be facing. In other words, without godmode active. If that means Smirk costs his team the win, so be it; that in itself is useful information on how we will be expected to perform once Delta Rising goes live, and how a given ship performs in given circumstances... and useful information is the only reason to watch the Livestreams if the codes don't work or get altered without warning. :P
With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.
It was in the launcher when I started it up last night, a little less than 24 hours ago, so...
Yeah, I first noticed it in my launcher, 30 minutes after it ended. I suppose being in Europe does not count for much to cryptic. Perhaps some proper scheduling might be in order. Of course I expect nothing less than amateur hacks from this company after the last several seasons.
I was Becky 14 in the last stf run on the live stream. My ship was running all MK12 fleet weapons in a fun build ship with the new rep set and it was still quiet easy I thought.
From what I saw in game I think smirk was distracted with the live stream tbh, what I would rather see is how dedicated players handle the ship because this was more a show and tell rather an in depth examination of how it will handle with a proper build.
It was fun when the last ship got stuck on the first or second wave in the rock and i used the picard maneuver to jump into the rock to shoot it.
I had high hopes for the Guardian but I will be sticking with my Constellation I think now.
It is 1:20 here and I didn't read anything because I am tired. Gute Nacht :P
Sorry about making the bleary eyes more so... I have opinions! :P
Shorter version:
I'm irked by...
...the RMC being a single character unlock...
I'm not the one that spammed it across all channels, nor was anyone told at any point not to share a code that was already time restricted and required Arc to utilize.
[*]...by the change being done while Smirk and Trendy were doing the Livestream...
Otherwise, how would they have known folks were spamming it across all cannels, and how would folks have even gotten the code to spam across all channels?
[*]...by the code being changed without informing Smirk and Trendy...
Smirk checked his own account on camera because that was not how the code was originally intended to work, and Trendy later stated that it was originally intended as an account unlock.
[*]...and for the change being blamed on the players.
The justification given was that the code was being spammed across all channels.
This view is based upon the Livestream and the explanation provided later on in Zone chat, on ESD (credited to monkeybone13). As far as remedy, I'd like to see the RMC returned to the account unlock it was originally intended to be, and for some kind of attempt at better communication... internally at the very least, if not with the players. Smirk and Trendy are trying to do their jobs, and it's not fair for their coworkers to undermine their efforts at giving promotional items or alter the terms of a promotional item without any kind of notification or warning. The least they could do is return the RMC code to an account unlock for the players and give Smirk and Trendy a bacon/beer/coffee budget as an apology.
With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.
Good god this livestream was academic example how not to advertise your product. Why bother and buy T6 ship if it shows no combat value? 0,77k DPS? It was 3-4 times less then "the worst" T5 there. Next time you want show new ship give it someone who at least know some basics about game his company create.

I wonder what food product placement and fashion sense is on display today?
Plus I cannot miss ctrl+c and ctrl+v hyper speed macroing on the good ship Arc antics for those extremely limited, limited giveaways!
Great, I really wanted to see these 2 ships in action in order to make my mind which one I'll get formy new sci. once 'Delta Rising' hits holodeck.
Product placement aside, it's a good sign when they put up with the forum spew and still provide livestream events

Now shaddup about the queues, it's a BUG
Oh poor you... Only one RMC for free. I can feel your pain.

If so, that is seriously lamesauce, and severely amateur advertising, serious fail. I would have watched if I had been given SOME REASONABLE NOTICE.
Also a live video thread on only 1 ship and nothing else (obviously having not seen it), not looking good.

This announcement post has a post time about 20 hours prior to the event. He also played some group queue content in the ship.

Probably about the same just with longer missions.
