Do you find it odd that there's no intel BoP. I'm not saying the intel battle cruiser isn't great, because it is, but of all the ships in the game, I would have thought a "scout/raider would have made a great intel ship.
Was surprised that it was an Intel Battle Cruiser, no doubt...and the existence of the Phantom kind of throws off the "lore" approach of them being Delta Quadrant sneaker types.
Thing to keep in mind, mind you - is that they have other Specializations planned. The next one might be something more befitting a Raider than the Intel...eh?
Course, there will likely be a Fed T6 "Whatever" Raider at that point and no KDF Raider...but those are the kicks, meh. Kick to the gut, kick to the balls, kick to the face...courtesy of the Cryptic Kick Corporation.
Kind of surprised the KDF's Intel ship is a Battlecruiser, since our Battlecruiser lineup is consistently quite good on average.
What I was kind of hoping for was a KDF Intel ship in the weaker areas of our lineup.

I would have put a much higher emphasis on a BOP as a perfect representative for a KDF Intel ship. The BOPs throughout Star Trek have regularly been sent on these long ranged special missions making use of that cloaking device. From Kirk's era and all the way into the Dominion War era, Klingons have regularly sent BOPs to do these special tasks. Not a fancy, powerful Battlecruiser. Just the ever popular, small, stealthy BOP.

Honestly, if the Mat'Ha had been our Intel Raptor it would have had me sold in an instant... trade some of that hull for a Battlecloak, Intel gimmicks, Turn Rate, Impulse Modifier, increased Intel seating... it'd be everything a Raptor had been missing over the years. Ah well. :P
With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.
No...not odd, at least not at the initial launch of DR. The decision to make the Qib a battlecruiser was purely financial. "Let's compare the number of battlecruiser captains to the number of BoP captains in the game. Will we sell more Qibs if it's a BC or a BoP?"
They ignored the fact that one of the reasons there are so many BC captains is because there are so many great KDF BCs, and not much else worthwhile to choose from. Of COURSE most people are going to choose to fly a battlecruiser.
It makes way too much sense to have an Intel BoP. That class of ship is perfect for that role. I really hope we see one in the not-too-distant future. Considering Cryptic's history with the KDF though, who knows?
I guess we should be happy that we're finally getting a nice Raptor.
While I mostly agree with you after having done extensive testing on Tribble I'm not sure an Intel BoP would be a viable ship. It would be far too squishy. The Vaadwaur cluster torpedoes would make mashed potatoes of any BoP. And in a battle of attrition (which is often the case in DR) a BoP doesn't stand a chance.
I guess we should be happy that we're finally getting a nice Raptor.
Yes, at last a Raptor. I'm still not sure how it will handle with such a low turn rate but I hope we get to test them soon on Tribble. I'm beginning to think they will never be released there.

A battlecloak would compensate 15 turn rate and 200 crew and would make Maha a interesting PVP destroyer.
But probably Cryptic had already put kdf into "content" category while federation is in "whale" category so kdf ships must be weaker than fed ones
"There already is a Borg faction, its called the Federation. They assimilate everyone else's technology and remove any biological or technical distinctiveness and add it to their own."

Pretty much instead of balancing things they choose to go down the route of saying if you buy a federation ship you will have the *best and better ship than a kdf player* that is their marketing lol. As a KDF player I ask Cryptic why bother grinding and spending my time on this game if its only to grind for inferior content. So methinks this is the end of STO for me.

You should care.
An Intel BoP would totally pwn all.
