You know, I have to admit that S'lin Ta'kat, the Ha'ni science nerd, will definitely die saying "It's just a death ray, I cooked it up in about five minutes, perfectly safe!" or words to that effect.
...Oh, baby, you know, I've really got to leave you / Oh, I can hear it callin 'me / I said don't you hear it callin' me the way it used to do?...

I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.
You know, this guy sure has an odd sense of home decor. Take the welcome mat, for instance. Looks exactly like a land mine.

Kaylee: [about to detonate a large warhead near a bunch of Borg or something] "Assimilate this, you robotic TRIBBLE."
Gina: "I thought I told you NOT to touch--"
The second shot tore smoldering hole through Jacob's innards. He fell to his knees as the pain overwhelmed him. Though he stopped himself from sinking any further, he couldn't stop the the stream of blood as it poured out of his open mouth. The Malcolm wasn't sure how, but Jacob righted himself and scrambled for his sidearm.
He raised his phaser, the rage of a dying man fueling him. Malcolm Denver stood there and waited for his blows in kind. His finger hovered over the trigger, ready to strike down the traitor who'd cost him everything, but all Jacob could see was best friend waiting to join him in death. Despite the betrayal, Jacob couldn't muster the resolve to fire. Here, in the end, he lacked Denver's conviction. His strength faltered. His arm fell to his side.
"Alright," he wheezed as his weapon clattered on the ground.
"It's fine."
He fell forward into his own blood and bile, his wheeze now a whisper.
"It'll be okay."
Jacob started shaking and couldn't stop.
"It's fine."
Once the tremors had stopped, Lieutenant Commander Malcolm Devner sank down next to the body of Captain Jacob Wayland, oblivious to the gathering crowd and the sirens in the distance.

"So I'm totally gonna go make fun of that Ferengi's mother."
According to one of the novels (I forget which) the full Rule of Acquisition actually reads, "Never make fun of a Ferengi's mother. Make fun of something he cares about instead."
(Granted, in Quark's case they're the same thing.)

It figures.
Deanna, take the helm.
The Collective? Again? Sometimes I wish the Borg were more of a challenge.
