Love this idea. A similiar system to DoFF's for Starships, perhaps as those assigned to an "Admirals Squadron".

Course using or leveraging ships that are currently in your inventory that would be nice too. Think of the amount of hardware that is in theory sitting unused in our ship inventory, Trillions of credits worth of ships and crew sitting idle while you are in your ship of choice.

This would also dovetail nicely with the ship experience metric in Delta, you'd have to spend time fighting in the ship just to level it in order to use in the Squadron system.

Still waiting on some word from the devs if my idea will be done or not. Should be hearing something any day now...pretttttty soon...like it should be happening any second now...probably hear something tomorrow...or maybe never.

Heh. I'm not sure you know how these forums work ;)

You -might- get a Dev response, if one of the System Devs in charge of the DOFF system has something to say... or if Tacofangs weighs in for the heck of it.

But none of them are going to want to indulge any speculation that they are going to develop any such thing. The best you're going to get is a "nice idea!" that's cautiously worded to avoid any hint of a promise. The worst you'll get is that the current system doesn't lend itself to that and that it's unlikely to happen.

That said, it's not a bad idea.

Thanks for the response. It's nice to hear a Community Moderator weigh in and explain the process.
The person you responded to had a related but different one from mine.

I would really enjoy the game that much more if we had such SHOFF system. Hopefully the Devs already have this on the drawing board!

    Thanks,
    OP

But I'm happy just being a lowly Captain of my little insignificant ship~

You know, admirals do paperwork. I want cryptic to have a paperwork daily were we go to the ready room and write a briefing note.

Or how about a daily were we move paper from one side of the desk and put it on the other side

Technically, all jobs in Starfleet would have paperwork.

    Not Captain.

Captains had tons of paperwork! What else was Picard doing in his ready room all day long? :D
Seriously, they had to submit mission reports to starfleet command, approve crew reports, fill out evaluation forms, approve crew transfers, approve maintenence schedules, approve and file flight plans, the list goes on.

I do think the idea of a paperwork daily has merit, too.
It would complement our(hopefully soon to be released) SHOFF system quite well...

Still haven't heard anything from the Devs. Keep this thread going so that we can get our SHOFF system!
