So – is the addition of the Dauntless worth the cost of the Delta Rising pack?

A T6 science ship… pretty, and a cherry on the top of the cream pie that is Delta Rising… undoubtedly more goodies to come between now and Oct 14… but is it enough to warrant $125.00?

I have a feeling this pack will see a decrease to $100.00 closer to release… maybe even less as more and more players are having a difficult time seeing the “value” in purchasing in-game items for that amount of money. Yes, there will be those who will gladly hand fistfuls of cash at a whim and I say, good for them. To each their own; it’s their money to do with as they please.

But what about the rest of us?

    If you want ALL the ships, and I mean REALLY want them, then buy the pack. Otherwise, save your money or buy the only ones you want at launch.

    ask your self this is that one ship worth 125$ is that the only ship you will use out of the hole pack? when you answer these questions you will have your answer and correct me if I'm wrong will not all this stuff end up in the cstore like most of LOR pack stuff did - forums titles

    I bought the pack just for the value. I like collecting ships, and this is definitely a deal I will take. The Dauntless is just another trophy to add to my collection :)

    We don't have any stats yet, but unless its as good as the Vesta I doubt it.

    What Dauntless?! All we get to see is a picture of the outer hull, nothing else.

    I want stats. And, most importantly, I want to know whether it comes with its own unique Dauntless bridge.

    Oh ho yet another T6 fed ship. No equality here no sir!

    If they want me interested in paying a massive amount of money for a pack, they need to split the pack up. A KDF pack, a Fed pack, and a Rom pack. No way I'm going to pay 125 bucks for a mostly fed pack when I play only KDF. You don't buy things you're never gonna use.

    Give us a Rom and KDF pack for like, what? 50 - 60 bucks since we only got 2 ships? Then I'll open my wallet.

    Doesn't change the value equation much. If we assume the ships will be $30 each, then the pack is worth it if you want at least four of them. Also likely worth it if you want three of them and the other bonuses. Not worth it if you only want one or two of the ships.

    I think the Dauntless is fugly and makes me less likely to buy the pack because of severe FED bias. The pack won't go down in price as it is already on sale.

    If you plan to spend money on them..it is way cheaper than buying the ships individually.

    like ashkrik said, it is waaaaay cheaper

    assuming the cost of a T6 is 3000 zen, the ships in the pack individually would be $270 <- already more than 50% off


    and you get BOFFs, upgrades, DOFFs, ect for free :D:D:D

    In a short word, no. And I have purchased the pack already.

    Dont get me wrong, I appreciate the addition but the pack already has a sci ship and if I may be so bold...canon or not..the Dauntless is an ugly ship :)

    The ship stats, when they come out, may change my mind though. If a good sci ship then it adds good value.

    IF we were able to buy the pack now with out Zen thorough the C Store, I might be tempted since I have a good Dil-generating system so I can make a modest amount of Zen over time. But I really can never find myself dropping that much actual bank on ones & zeroes, ever.

    assuming 3000 Zen per ship

    plus 500 for the costume pack

    plus 1500 for the three upgrade tokens (which assumes 500 each)

    plus 1500 for the three boffs

    they are selling the pack for less than half it's face value. We're paying about 40% of what we should.
    Everywhere I look, people are screaming about how bad Cryptic is.

    At least its less fugly then the Intel ships. At least the Dauntless looks like a Star Trek ship.

    As others have said, if you want at least four of these ships, it's worth it.

    I want to get:
    Phantom Escort (I like the Defiant-inspired look)
    Guardian Cruiser (this one is a maybe)
    KDF Intel Ship
    RR Intel Ship
    RR T6 Warbird

    I also have been waiting on the Dauntless. Throw in 3 upgrade tokens, and 3 BOFFs... yep, worth it. :)

    if you compare this pack to the romulan lagacy pack that was the same price, you had 10 ships in the romulan pack some uniform and some titles, the only thing that stands out as differant is the 30 master keys.
    now of the 10 ships most of them were only any good at low level so after you reached lv50 there was only 2 or 3 ships you are likly to get a lot of use out of.

    with the DR pack you now have 9 ships all of wich you can use even after you reach lv60
    you also have a little uniform and some titles.

    as both packs are the same price i think you are getting better long term value out of the DR pack, it may appear the rom pack is better value but once you have used the master keys and got a load of toot you dont want really the only thing that makes a differance is the ships and unless you are continually creating rom characters most of the ships you will hardly use so the rom pack might look better value in the short term but DR pack has much better staying power.

    the rom pack sold very well and from what i have seen from other posters i think the DR pack will do just as well.

    if you have characters from each faction and are likly to buy a T6 for each faction you will most likly get quite close to the cost of the pack anyway.

    When I think about everything we've been through together,

    maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

     and if that journey takes a little longer,

    so we can do something we all believe in,

     I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

    it isnt even a true ship in canon, thats the problem, is the addition to the delta pack worth extra? in fact it takes value away.
    T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW.
    Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

    You mean from terribly overpriced to still but a bit less terribly overpriced?

    Just because they cant produce enough content that ppl want and just because loads of ppl play but dont pay doesnt make this stuff WORTH the money they ask for it you know?

    From a pure money standpoint, the pack is totally worth buying as you are getting everything cheaper than if you bought them individually, plus some extras that wont be in the store.

    if you dont plan to use the vast majority of the ships, then no. wait for the 14th and buy what individual ships you want.

    I will be buying them as i expect to fly and use virtually all of them. the only one i hate is the fed science ship and i have little use for it right now (although there is at least a trait in there), but i will use the others and it will be far cheaper than buying individually.

    Everyone is guessing T6 will cost than T5, because having them cost the same wouldn't make sense. Nobody knows though.

    To the OP: I only think the addition would be worth it to exclusively Fed captains.

    RA ship=2000
    VA ship=2500


    its like a simple pattern problem from 3rd grade :P

    next in the pattern would be FA=3000

    Technically it is a canon Federation ship, as it is seen in the future in the Enterprise episode "Azati Prime." Besides, with your logic, considering that no Cryptic design ship is "canon", then nothing Cryptic created has any value.

    so you have words from the Dev ships or going up? or are you doing what a lot of you do here? but if true then lockbox ship will go up lol to anyone having trouble getting lockbox ship now :) more i here about this Xpack more i get happier and not for the reason you would think :)
