It wouldn't bother me if the KDF and RRF operated the Dauntless. Simply explain it away as the UFP engaging in a technology sharing agreement.
But then, the KDF hard cores who act as if they really are in the KDF on these boards will gripe about it, and refuse to fly anything built by "Fed Scum".

And yeah, the people who play this game get waaaayyyy to tribal, as if the factions mean anything in the real world.
I've seen people in all the factions act tribal, I mean by all means be passionate about the game, but faction based biogtry is a step too far. It silly.
In regards to non-faction ship being able to be used by all of the factions, that makes sense. After all, more than one Galor was made, thus more than one faction has the chance to capture and use Galors. (Same goes for all of the non-faction ships like the D'Kora, JHAS, etc.)
The Dauntless appeared to be a single ship, a one of a kind deal. Voyager obtained its schematics and then it was assimilated by the Borg. That would indicate that the Federation would be able to make use of its tech. And the Borg. Based on a canon sense, it seems more reasonable that on the Federation could make ships based off it.

But this Dauntless isn't alien. It's a Starfleet ship. Did you read the blog?
THIS Dauntless is a Starfleet vessel. THE Dauntless is an alien vessel, and since Species 116 has been (presumably) assimilated by the Borg, its blueprints are up for grabs. In fact, there could even be abandoned Dauntlesses adrift in the DQ, just like the wreckyard at Wolf 359.
No other faction should get the Dauntless. It is a Starfleet ship based on an alien design about what they think a Starfleet ship should look like. Allowing Romulans or Klingons to use this ship would open up a can of worms that should be avoided at all cost. Tier 5 and Tier 6 Faction-specific ships should be restricted to their own faction not be made available to every faction. We should be advocating for each faction to be unique rather than make each faction the same.
That being said, Cryptic do what they did with the Dyson ships so a Warbird inspired by the Dauntless would have some similarities with the Dauntless, but there is no mistaking it for a Starfleet ship.

Its weird, because you can (and should, to get the whole story) play all three.

That would be a good idea, it would reflect the technology sharing and the faction identity.
The Dauntless doesn't need to be multi-faction but the Klingons and Romulans could get their own version. Just like the Korath and Krenn or the R'Mor and Talvath being Klingon and Romulan versions of the Wells and Mobius Temporal Ships.

I just checked the pack... it's fed only so feds get 5 to everyone else's 2 so about business as usual...
though cryptic could surprise us and add new shisp for the rest of us too. wait the quoted number was 7 to 10 t6s we're at 9, so at most one more new ship... so it a cio... who am I kidding thats fe\d to.

Kinda why I started the thread in the first place. The alien tech behind the Dauntless is practically engineering-shapeshifting, its just an alien ship with a fake-Fed skin. So alien ship with other-faction skins, would let Cryptic release a new ship for everyone without having to do any more work, same model, existing material palates, and KDF and Roms get a T6 sci ship.
