I took several months off from STO and came back to the new ESD several weeks ago. It's so gorgeous. Whoever made it should feel really proud.

I've ordered a fleet to protect it... It should arrive anytime.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

    Yep.

The game has issues, but it being pretty isn't one of them.
Retired. I'm now in search for that perfect space anomaly.

Yeah, it's a change from the old ESD...

It nice, but every once in a while when I turn around I expect to see a Starbucks appear.

Its Starcredits since dollars/bucks don't exist anymore.

Also, @ the OP, I totally agree the new ESD is wonderful. If you haven't yet, go back and check out the delta rising blogs there's one with concept art for new zones coming with the expansion. Tacofangs and the other artists are really doing a great job.

I will give new ESD props for looking really nice - albeit hard on older graphics cards and laptops.

Overall a good addition. Will be even better when the new Club 47 gets put in :).

I'm at the point where i am itching to blow it up again.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

the only disappointment I had was that they closed off access to the shuttlebay, I would have thought this would be the ideal spot to house the ship select and such NPC`s plus it was a lovely area just to wander around, you just don't realise what you are missing out on not getting a close up view of the shuttles there and all the other stuff like watching a shuttle enter or leave through the force field or just to look out at space through the force field, viewing it from the vantage point they have given just does not compare.

with just minimal tweaking like a couple of force fields placed further in to block off access to the outside and an access walkway, ramp or stairs this would be a fine area to utilize, do RPG games or just take in the sights.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

The Spacedock ground area is really very beautiful and it actually fits what I imagine a space station would look like, with greenery and lots of open space. Don't a few hundred thousand people live and work on it?

I can'tspeak to its beauty, as my aaesthetic sense is not exactly well exercised...but the layout and convenience factors are 9/10 pts compared to previous

Yes, it really is a work of art, and I liked how they gave a reason for its refit. Stroke of genius there which made the mission in question all the more epic.

My favourite part is the water windows and the busy shuttlebay.

I don't think it's that simple. The shuttle bay was never meant as a room of its own to walk in and is probably not as deep as it looks. If you were to walk past the force field, you may find yourself a giant amongst toy shuttles as they were only meant to be viewed from afar.

If they made it navigable, they would probably need to redraw it mostly from scratch.

Is this a reference to the general mall aesthetic or to my suggestion that when they add Club 47, they also add a military base/airport style food court with themed restaurants taken from the various Trek shows?

My attitude was that, for instance, we're unlikely to see Sisko's or a number of IP locations. But that it might be doable to have themed kiosks based on these places.

Seemed pretty normal to me when I explored it on tribble

The details dropped off if you walked in further, and maybe the forced perspective might have been a little off, but I didn't feel too out of scale or anything

Yeah, I don't think the art and appearance of the game is something they can be criticised for. I still remember how impressed I was seeing the Romulan city in the attack on the Hakov. I can't wait to see some of the places in DR. The Voyager interior looks phenomenal, especially as corridors seem to be a good size. :D
