Also I love when people White Knight corporations. Like they need you to do that.
It makes just about as much sense as Black Knighting them. Corporations are just big groups of people working under a structured hierarchy to do something. Flying to their defense is silly (they don't need what you could provide) but so is compulsively railing against them (since just the same you can't have any real affect on their operation.)
Where the two come into play is just in the formation of rival mobs. The first has aligned itself in favor of entity A, and the second has aligned itself against. If you hold one decision as "stupid" the second must follow because its the exact same one only with a different polarity.

Just out of curiosity, how is the complaining hurting Cryptic? Is it impacting their bottom line?
If it is costing them money, I can see how they would want it stopped. Just saying.
My my, my dear boy, you're assuming Cryptic even listens, allow me to redirect you to their link of their initial reaction when & if they "do" decide to even read half the BS posted on these forums:
The core issue is lack of communication and when there is communication it isn't very good.
The devs and producers think they are releasing teasers without going into enough detail ever to make sense to the player base. This is why we have threads all over the spectrum from the ubiquitous DOOM Thread to the rants of people who want everything given to them and those who worship Cryptic.
I mean how easy would it have been for Cryptic to say we will release base details on the new tier 6 ships on date X and be further clarified on date y?
Date X
# of Boff Abilities 13
Intel CDR Slot
X # of Weapon Hard Points
# Consoles
Then state things will be further detailed on Date Y, Intel Abilities, Base ship Stats BO seat lay down?
They don't do that in the least and then get upset when us forum goers dig the flame thrower out of the closet to set fire to the bag of dog sh** they left at the door.
I honestly can't recall ANY game I have played in the past where the players slammed their fists and stomped up and down, cried, and curled up in a fetal position because new content was added, paid for or not.

You have obviously never played need for speed world then.
Well excuse me for having enormous flaws that I don't work on.

I am sick and tired of people complaining that the Zen ships they own are not a free upgrade to full T6. You paid for a T5 ship, and that is what you received. You certainly did not pay for T6, therefore you shouldn't get your free T6 upgrade since you didn't pay for it. It is perfectly logical and correct for cryptic to charge for T5-U, then your ship is EXACTLY WHAT YOU PAID FOR! I'm content with paying Zen to upgrade. Oh that means pay to play? LIES. You can get your zen with this little ingame currency called Dilithium. What's that? Play a few STF's and see! But the zen to dil ration is too high! Well that's your own danged fault for waiting so long to convert. This has been long coming, and completely obvious that Cryptic would do that, its their pattern. Coulda saved up!
But T6 ships will disrupt MUH PLAYSTYLE! stop. just effing stop. shutup. I cannot tell you how often the Devs have told us that T6 WILL NOT MAKE T5 OBSELETE. YOU WILL BE FINE. STOP SAYING THAT YOU WON'T.
Also: this is a business. They have to make money so you can keep your little free to play. if everyone got T6 for free, they couldn't make money to keep the game going.
Back to your forum browsing. Thank you for reading my lovely rant.
I made a similar post and got an infraction.
Don't waste your time with people on the forums. Their "logic" is illogical.
Crafting, Fleet gear, T5-U, T6, Lock Box content, episode revamps, ect. ect. ect. I've even seen someone complain that having known voice actors in Delta Rising was detracting from their lifetime benefits.
I was fully prepared to say "no, plenty of other games have their share of whining-for-effect" but then I remembered that no other I can recall has ever made a habit of using new content [for the same game] as fodder. Its not a meaningful distinction (fodder is fodder) but it is an unusual one.

People paid for END-Game ships, that won't be end-game ships anymore so yes a lot of us are mad. Especially so for lockbox, lobi, and promo ships like the Jem'hadar attack ship and Bulwark which are so expensive and hard to get it is unacceptable they will not be full upgraded to t6. Rather then make us buy t6 ships is making people so mad they will quit or not spend money.
The new boffs look like they will ruin pvp also, especially AOE subnuc. More runs and teleports for escapes aren't fun either.
It doesn't feel like a safe investment to buy t6 ships to me, I can't trust they will remain end-game ships for long and don't know how long PVP will remain playable since they keep releasing crazy OP stuff that ruins it.

Ah, gotcha. Man, I have. From MMOs to DLC for single-player games. Anything new comes with its share of screaming detractors. Panderia in WoW reached epic proportions. I ran out of popcorn.

Well I am not defending Cryptic per se, but the reality is, that a higher Tier vessel must remain separate and different from the norm.
Delta Rising is about an incursion into the Delta Quadrant, an area of space that is pretty much still remains unexplored, and is filled with far greater dangers than the current quadrants. ENTER Tier 6 ships, the latest Starfleet tech to go pound for pound with the dangerous unknowns of the Delta Quadrant.
Voyager was already an antique by the 3rd season of the Voyager Series, in which she was a Tier 5 vessel back then. She was being piece together by alien technology and even upgraded by FUTURE Janeway.
A higher Tier was due, it has been 4yrs plus since this game inception, it was past due.
So in a way Cryptic's logic makes sense from a Game life point of view & a canonical point of view (To some degree).
Should we pay for some of the Upgrade features of a Tier 6 ship rank, and I mean SOME - Sure why not, its great to add a few more features to my old workhorse.
The REAL question should be, how much should I pay for only certain upgradable features? That's the REAL issue. You can still play the full game with your VA Tier 5 ship and still kickass, so what's the problem?
In the end it will come down to ZEN Cost, I'm ok with a 500 Zen upgrade cost for a Tier 5 ship to go Tier 5-U, however; I am not ok with a 1,000 Zen cost - simply because the price is too steep and it is borderline double dipping.
At least for me, it is going to be the "ZEN" issue, because 500 ZEN is nothing, it is only one month worth of Stipend.
These kind of threads never end well so I'm going to go ahead and close it now.

You're complaining. The title of the thread sounds very clear to me.
But you're right, it won't stop. It's only up to Cryptic to see it in the right light. (I like to call it "constructive negativity".)

Hehehe, sounds like a good story, they must've really screwed the pooch on that one.
