OK the idea here is to take ships we already have not the new ones and build the ultimate cloaked ship hunter killer.

we need to detect them.
draw them from cloak
and destroy them preferably in a vape.

now let hear some ideas on the best way to achieve this.

this includes captin track.
captain skills
traits
rep passives and abilties
bridge officer skills and trait
duty officers
weapons
consoles
you know the whole deal.

must not include any non faction specific ships. so no JHAS and the like. it has to be a ship only the kdf can have. so they know exactly who killed them.
Trophies for killing FEDS ahh those were the days. Ch'ar%20POST%20LoR.JPG

    Hmm I'm thinking a Fleet B'Rel + (+ is easier than T5U)

You yourself stay cloaked, and run a Max Aux Torpedo boat. with a BO3 THY2 TT1.

3 Torps 1 Dual Beam Bank.

With Skills in stealth and Sensors you'll see them before they see you and can unload your Sci abilities and Torpedoes first.
I was once DKnight1000, apparently I had taken my own name so now I'm DKnight0001.
If I ask you a question it is not an insult but a genuine attempt to understand why.
When I insult you I won't be discreet about it, I will be precise and to the point stupid.

Basically you have long periods of passive detection punctuated by brief periods of spike. Sensor Scan is your only burst, so basically have to rely on passive detection almost exclusively.

Science ships get a bonus to detection. KDF have two T5 faction science ships which are Varanus and the DSD, plus the Korath which is clearly KDF-aligned but not a "faction" ship technically (it belongs to a KDF in the future not this KDF now). The Korath has uni LtC and is the only one that can run EPtA3 while the other two only have Lt engi/uni and therefore can only run EPtA2. After that its basically the Jem'Hadar Mk XII deflector, and a bunch of sensor consoles.

Once you have found them.... you do not necessarily want to pull them out of cloak because doing so will cause their shields to come online, and unless they are AFK they are going to fly away or shoot back. Its more effective to kill them while they are cloaked and their shields are down IF you can setup a strike that is capable of it (can be hard to do with science). You only need to pull them out if you are relying on a helper to kill them.

    Some good points brought up.

Probably the most lethal way to quickly deal a lot of damage to a hull without blowing yourself up in the process is the CC Enhanced Bio-Torp in High Yield 3. The B'rel Retro and (A)DSD are probably the best delivery platforms - former has EBC and Flanking, latter can have 4xTac&Sci consoles; both can run HY3+APO3 and CPB/PS/TBR.

Qib might be a decent option as well if it gets a decent tac and sci bridge/console layout.

Edit: I suppose we'll have to see how the Enhanced Bio-torp does at 60.. quantums may turn out to be the best option for the tactic instead.

My guess... we'll have a problem with being a cloaking Hunter Killer. The bottom line at this point is that the only T6 Science Ship that can cloak is a Federation vessel, meaning that they are the ones that can combine being cloaked with the increased base detection range that Science Ships provide. Since Sensors outweigh Stealth, even a few Nausicaans don't really put the KDF into the lead there... especially with the Tachyon Detection Field console.

Then again, we don't actually know the stats of the Federation cloaking technology... for all we know it's no better than Mask Energy Signature and/or applies a debuff to their Sensors to simulate the effects of "silent running". Probably not, though. :P

photonic shockwave has a nice effect on shileds doesnt it? or hull if their cloaked.

Photonic Shockwave does next to nothing if shields are up. Charged Particle Burst damage shields but next to no hull damage, but disables cloaks for a bit.

If you use PSW on a cloaked vessel, I'm not sure if it pops them out of cloaks and makes them raise shields.
