That build doesn't have polarize hull, but double HE. Yeah, great one.

The build that Edna posted is a version of a pure healer build which don't really requires polarized. You have the option to change a hazards to a PH of needed
But for a pure healer the 2 hazards is usually better.

Askay, as edalgo points out don't limit yourself to kerrat. While arenas might a bit frustrating pugging as a healer can and holds can be a great experience since a good healer can sit at a point and deny it to the enemy for a good while.

You can also forming a opvp pugmade to practice (probably wouldn't say who you are though. Lol)

Besides that I would also say to not limit yourself to Ker'rat but also Cap n Holds, Arenas (pug q), and 1v1s(these can also be training sessions so the speed and complexity is explained as it's happening in a controlled environment)

Fighting someone at an equal level is what would provide you with the best practice, 1v1 is the best traning scenario you can have. Atleast if you fight the same people all the time. Then you can fight once or twice, then make the changes you want, to see if they do anything for you.. and then fight the same people with the same builds again.. thats the only way to see how the changes you made actually works..

You can also do this by numbers, personally i do both.. i can theorize on how much something would affect gameplay.. but it could be something completely different, because its either "broken" or just "doesnt add up with the numbers", or there was some variables you didnt account for.. and being new at PVP, there *will* be variables you forget to account for...

testing testing testing testing, adapt, and test test test again. takes time, and effort, but there are no easy shortcuts im affraid..

And yeah, this is the best way - the most important element of STO PvP is player skill and knowledge.

This isn't surprising that a mod (or Dev or gm or com manager for that matter) would be targets for screenshots :p I will admit if someone finds me and does post it all I ask for sanity sake at the time to leave my handle hidden :P (even though I know that's a stretch.)

I'm actually reading everything and taking it all in. I've also been invited to a TS today to sit down and go over some ideas for builds. :)

Pvp in this game has two things which must be given equal importance:

    1) a good build and 2) practice and familiarity with such a build.

Any times players will be given a good build and after a day or two claim it is worthless because it didn't do as expected, not taking into account that any build requires knowing when and how to use the abilities available. This is particularly important in support classes as heals and debuffs must be times appropriately.

You are more than welcome to join us in the vipers TS anytime you want. We might not be a big fleet but we have plenty of good players that are more than willing to help out. Send me (@alejogcl) or edalgo a mail in message and we'll send you our TS info.

you realize that you can escape tractor anything with evasive since you have high ID.Also that is full healer not useless tank ...when I say healer I try to have as many powers you can cast on the ship ....PH is a kirk like power you can use when you need to tank.

Btw dunno if that build is great or not but I'm 100% is better than the one you posted.

^^that and also its very important to arrange your powers in your tray in a way you most likely use them thus making them easy to find .Same for UI ...add the team part close to your tray so you don't move your eyes alot (causes myopia in time  ) thus you can see your cooldowns and your team mates debuffs and health.

Your talking about a different forum I suppose

    Troll much?

There's all sort of people in pvp so sometimes opinions get heated, specially when talking about builds but most people here are quite helpful and will give their opinions.

I know most of my fleet, myself included, will PM people in matches when we can tell they are noobs and offer advice. And I'm pretty sure we're not the only ones.
Btw, not too far away from this thread there is one where someone asked for help that is not a moderator or dev and it is being given.

Exactly, if anyone asks nicely they get a ton of advice, whether Newbie or N00b. (and there is a difference)

Come in like the guy who didn't understand Ker'rat and said the Devs deserved to be killed for making it and you will quite rightly be thrown to the wolves.

And even then you still might get someone saying post up your build, lets improve it.

Another thing showing up to kerrat a one ship is always a bad idea. Team play in sto is the only op thing. come with a team they will show you how to roll. A bastion in kerrat by itself is toast no matter how good the build is...

A fedball is NOT a team. A team uses cross healing, teamspeak for coordinated subnuk/alpha. A fed ball is herd mentality.

Definitely not a team, just a large gathering of FAW in the hopes there will be enough mindless no-need-for-targeting damage to kill someone, basically by accident.

    http://skillplanner.stoacademy.com/?build=kerratoffensivetank_0

If you don't want to do a pure healer build, you could try this one for Kerrat. It's resilient and decently offensive if you time the aux-to-bat right, which takes a bit of getting used to. I didn't have time to change your skill-tree, which also needs some work (I can probably get to it later today). For doffs for the build I posted, use 3 purple technicians for CD reduction, 1 Antimatter for energy resist on use of Aux2Damp, and 2 Energy Weapons doffs for BO penetration. In the end though, engineers are just not the best option and only really useful as pure healers, but this could be something different and fun to try.

After his "pvp dosn't matter" post, no build will work for him. He is going to have 5 FoMM stacked all the time lol

I don't know if he was trolling us OR just a complete noob despite playing since beta.

I still think (tinfoil hat) that it was done on purpose - that he was taking one for the team, so to speak. Remember all the other threads going on around the time he started this thread? It was a way to focus folks on something other than everything else they were focusing on at the time.

Course, seeing Smirk's builds in a couple of livestreams...er...I don't think this as strongly as I did initially.

There are a lot of things folks take for granted...that a lot of folks don't know the first thing about out there.

Which is the majority of the playerbase...and well, how should the devs/CM folks build, eh? Toward the majority or the minority?
