Promotional Ambassador is one picky lady!

I've been able to determine that the Summer Giveaway Ambassador does not want to equip my Experimental Proton Weapon from the Voth reputation rewards. I've tried double-clicking to equip, right-clicking and choosing "Equip", click-and-dragging to the paper-doll, and even using that Quick Equip window that I don't like. Nothing works.

Update: Sorry about the misspelling in the thread title. Can we have the ability to edit thread titles?

    Isn't the proton weapon both a cannon and a beam? You can't mount cannons on cruisers.

    You can only mount DUAL cannons on certain ships.

    The terminology used by the game is unclear. Dual Cannons and Dual Heavy Cannons aren't usable by most cruisers. Single Cannons are. The Experimental Proton Weapon is a Single Cannon/Beam Weapon.
