wow. thats an amazing doff. i thought assured effects were something you guys wanted to avoid in doffs, much to my disappointment.

you know diablo 3? were you have the base skill, and you unlock modifiers to the skill as you level? THAT'S what doffs should be in this game, rather then vapor ware effects that got to low a chance to do anything, that you cant build around at all.

Seems to be a lot of players playing this one. Must have a lot of servers to handle balance load and all these nodes (connections) Ran through the first with a mid-high PTR and Elite.. Elite seems tough one. You got some surprises there to deal with.

Next time going to push it with PTR (Power Transfer Rate): to 500% little over that percentage mark and see how see how it fairs on Entity. ;)

They loathe the technician doff, say they're moving away from ever doing doffs like that, and yet, here we have this doff.

Now everyone can just use evasive maneuvers over and over with the Helmsman trait to go around the screen like an annoying fly you can't ever swat.

Seriously, who puts this stuff together? Huge error in the description in the picture that has been posted in the dev blog...

    Check the image (link below)

Emergency power to engines reduces cooldown on Evasive maneuvers...

    Then it says....

Evasive maneuvers reduces cooldown on Emergency power to engines!

WHICH IS IT??? You guys may want to fix the description! HOW DID NONE OF YOU NOTICE BEFORE POSTING?

Sorry, I'm a graphic designer...these kinds of errors irritate me alot...

    pottsey5g wrote: »
No it doesn't. It resets Evasive Manoeuvres only.

So it seems from others testing the doff, that my original assumption on the doff description is correct.

In which case, can a dev PLEASE clarify if my statement on the description is correct (that it is in fact an incorrect description) OR if the doff is not working as intended???

How long to run the mission? I don't know if I can stomach this again for $3 of dilithium and a doff.
Have you tried the new forum on your phone?

yep, this is a must use, i'll be putting EM on my 'space bar' bind now lol

speed tanking was already an OP plague to balance, single handedly making cruisers that can only HPS tank TRIBBLE. thus requiring AtB builds to exist to give tac cruisers enough durability to not be the glass cannons they would be otherwise.

buff speed tanking! nerf AtB! put a gun to the head of tactical ship balance, which is PERFECT right now!

    Free Dilithium? I'll take it.

I'll undoubtedly need it to upgrade my ships to T6, right?

It doesnt matter the load of the servers. Since all the weapons effects dissapear. Except for this "little" problem, that makes the mission just push the fire button and forget about anything else, this is indeed finally a worthy event. It takes only a couple of minutes with a good team and the rewards are good.

Funny thing is, some other thread before maintenance this morning someone suggested bringing this event back. Lo and behold, here it be.

From the conversation above, sounds like maybe it is a different doff this time? Still got one character who was one shard short last time, so I'm excited to get that cleared up. :)

Curious how others are testing a doff that takes 14days to get since the event is not even a day old?

if you had the last CCE event almost done you should have received the gravimetric doff not the new evasives doff.

After collecting 14 of them, players can complete a new Event Reputation project to be rewarded with 50,000 Dilithium Ore, 500 Fleet Marks, 250 Marks of their choice (Fleet, Omega, Romulan, Nukara, Dyson, or Undine), and a Very Rare Emergency Conn Hologram Duty Officer!
Sign in once for fourteen days to work towards all of that stuff?

Yeah, I can see that happening. Not bad.

Could you round the 250 up to 300 marks?

You can still earn shards after handing in the event last time around. I had 15 shards left over from last time around. This time around I will save 15 shards for next time and the extra days worth of shards I hand in for extra dill.

Trendy, I've noticed that you have stopped adding "discuss this in the forum" links to the news articles on the site. Could you please resume doing this so I don't have to navigate to the thread from the site by hand? Thanks.

Because nobody said you HAD to actually use your shards during the last event, or the event before that. People can stockpile their shards and wait for a future event (like this one) and then have the reward on day 1.

Or alternatively, they DID do the projects but instead of turning in their bonus shards after finishing the main project, again, they stockpiled.

At this point, fixing aux2bat is something they should really consider for this release. The amount of abilities they can spam keeps growing each time they release something lately.

I don't know which side of the line I fall on anymore. People complaining about aux2bat refuse to understand it and run off assumptions and people running aux2bat assume they are flying the more OP thing there is.

It's just all wrong, and it would take an open dialogue with the devs and a very knowledgeable player to get it straighten out. Making it unable to work with tactical abilities I'd my newest thought in the matter to appease the haters and carebears....

Side by side analysis, you see that an aux2bat build and an non aux2bat build (emulating the a2b build) is actually pretty close to one another...

I noticed the change as well.

As I develop a website of my own, I am spending days debating about comment sections. Over the past few months, I have visited a mess of different websites. Sure, the comment section is a great platform, which could be used for promotional purposes. On the flip side of the coin, the comment section can also have disastrous affects. When it comes to dealing with public relations, I think forums, social media sites, and comment sections cause allot of damage.

Instead of taking the time to thoroughly read an article, many people make the mistake of going directly to the forums or comment section. Visitors can become consumed with responding to negative information. As a result of not adding a link, Cryptic can get their visitors to : (a) slowdown, (b) focus completely on the article, and (c) not be affected by negative comments.

Negative comments can cause extreme stress.

When consumers walk into the nearest BestBuy, the majority do not bother with reading online feedback. Most people will 'impulse' and/or 'casually' buy a product. Unless someone is buying something extremely expensive, the individual will not bother with reading forums.

Cryptic may be trying to control the backlash, which was accidentally triggered by premature information.

The problem is, I do have an eng toon I use for farming purposes and know how ridiculous an aux2bat build is (It has all the colonial chains so free Technicians plus I got plasmonic leech for it when it was dirt cheap). I can just stand there pressing my space bar dishing out DPS and not care what is coming my way.

On a different note, I went into one CE even instance where the spam of choice was the black goo (subspace integration circuit). Just wow, the whole damn space littered with black goo. It was worse than dealing with a 5 man team in a PvP match spamming that thing.

is this doff really as bad as it reads? if so, expect another bait-and-switch nerf in 2 weeks. there is no possible way they can let that doff go as is.

Even with the black goo and extra nasty tricks that the CE has active during events it's still more fun than the nightmare that is the unstoppable flood of mirror ships in the revamped mirror incursion. :)

My thoughts as well. I'll get it anyway however, because I gotta collect all teh pokemans. 500 roster slots isn't enough for me! :P

Although I like the idea of the extra challenge in CEE, the Cryptic Engine can't render all of the spam and stuff going on. This causes weapons firing to be invisible, shards to be invisible, and so on. Personally, I would prefer to see it tougher in a way that doesn't make half of what is going on invisible to the people playing it.
