So, I visited my Defiant Ship interior for the first time, in probably over a year, to see my whole crew wearing matching uniforms for the first time. But instead only two of my BOffs are shown, along with four identical Andorian extras, and a bunch of empty seats. I guess it's an improvement over the duplicated Bridge Officer glitch from a while ago, but it still sucks. And I know that Ship interiors are obviously not a priority, and there is no reason to ever go to them. So this glitch probably wont get fixed anytime soon. But having ship interiors and a bridge that you can walk around in, and see your crew, is one of the very, very, few elements of Star Trek in this supposed Star Trek game. Does anyone else have this happen to them?
Yes this happens to me occasionally. Specifically on my romulan character. However I've found that turning your boff stations to empty and then back to the boff while NOT on your bridge seems to fix this for the most part. Try that and reload your bridge and see if it changes anything.
I have this problem but I know a workaround that fixes it every time, at least until I beam into a ground map that requires 1 or more bridge officers. But the workaround is quick to do.
It may sound weird but what happens is your bridge officers in the commissioned roster on the left of the window wind up out of alphabetical order. This causes your ship stations to appear blank for a split second when you view the stations tab. You don't need to view your stations tab before beaming to your ship interior. But when you do visit your bridge, it acts as though 1 or more boff stations are empty and no boffs are assigned to them. That is why you have some boffs replaced with generic NPCs.
I have been using a workaround I had found a while ago.
Go to your ship stations tab and for your shuttle station, select the first boff at the top of the list under 'None' assign it to the shuttle station. Then select the next boff down, then the next, and the next. After stationing the last boff in the list for your shuttle select the first boff at the top of the list. After selecting the first boff, if you choose to assign no boff (None) then you will have at least 1 boff get out of order in your roster. After selecting the first boff again you can then select 'None' without any boffs moving in the list. While doing this keep an eye on your boffs on the left of the window. You will notice some of them being moved up or down. And after you do this all your boffs on the left will be in alphabetical order and the problem won't happen again until you beam to a ground map with an away team, in which case you use the workaround again after beaming up to a space map.
One thing I noticed, and you guys can see for yourself, is that the shuttlecraft ship station does not list your boffs from top to botton in the dropdown in alphabetical order. Look at your ship and away team stations and you'll see them in the proper order. I think the shuttle station may be the cause of it. But the ship station bug has been around at least since LoR beta testing. It use to be linked to your doff department heads and constantly caused those to reset. At least they fixed the issues with the department heads and ship stations being left empty. But it still needs improvements.
Another thing to remember is that if you don't have a shuttlecraft at all, your boffs will be out of order in your roster on the left of the window and you won't be able to manually fix it using the workaround. Trust me I tried. If you have no c-store shuttle but do have at least 1 ship slot, just go to ship requisitions and purchase 1 of the 2 shuttles for EC: Type 8 or Danube Runabout for fed as an example; Danube costs about 33k and Type 8 is much cheaper. The prices are the same for all factions.
Edit: After using the workaround I described, you should see your boffs show up on your bridge instead of having some replaced with generic NPCs.

The problem you describe, and the character bios being broken, has been around since season 7 launch. Sure your bios may incorrectly show that you are in a shuttle when you clearly are not, but most of the time when you look at another player's bios, it doesn't even list what ship they are in and most of the info is just blank anyway. It doesn't seem to affect the game in any way, but having your boffs out of order in your roster does because it causes some of them not to appear on your bridge when you visit your ship interior.
To add to my above post, I forgot to mention the reason why it breaks again and your boffs get out of alphebetical order in the list on the left after beaming to a planet with them is because the boffs you take in your away team are moved to the very top of the list and don't move back unless you use the workaround with the shuttle station that I described above. Similar to the character selection where the most recent character you log in on is moved to the very top of the list and the last character you logged in on is moved down 1 slot.
If possible they can solve these problems by making it so your boffs will always go back to alphabetical order after you are no longer in a ground map with an away team.
Are we supposed to want to buy more bridges, including the Voyager bridge, with these bugs happening? I don't even want to look at my bridge with this happening.
It sounds like the Department heads list is bugged thus causing the lookup for seating to be in error and defaulting to generic NPC placements. Worst case, allow the player to assign the seating arrangements manually through a list like the Away Team list.
This does not sound like a complex problem, IT JUST NEEDS ATTENTION. Please, Cryptic, fix it.

Please read my first post in this thread. I know it's lengthy, but I described the problem and how to temporarily fix it and also how it becomes broken again after you fix it. It has to do with your commissioned bridge officers not being in alphabetical order (the list of boffs on the left of the window right under your character and ships).
From what I've seen, after using the workaround to fix it, when my boffs are in proper alphabetical order they will appear properly on my ship bridge when I visit my interior.
One thing I did forget to mention (and you can reproduce this easily every single time) is that whatever bridge officers you take with you on an away team, they will all be moved up to the top of the roster list on the left of the window. They will then stay in those exact spots on the list, until you use my workaround to place them back in alphabetical order. (And as I described above, beaming to any ground map that has you take 1 or more boffs for your away team is what breaks the whole thing again)
If i need to do that workaround every time i want all my boffs in their stations... sorry, but it is a totally broken functionallity for me. And no, of course i will never (i never did) buy bridge packs until this is fixed. So, we only have one thing or two to do on our bridges and still we need to keep seeing these bugs.. sigh.

Did you try my workaround, and if so, did it work for you?
I do agree that we shouldn't have to use a workaround to keep things working right. The main reason I posted in this thread is because I'm hoping a dev will see it, check it out, hopefully find the problem, and eventually fix it. Also I posted here to give others a workaround I found that will help.
I'm kinda use to funky workarounds like this anyway. Before when I went to my department heads in the doff window and started an assignment, it would take 10 seconds or so for the assignment to be removed from the list. My workaround: start an assignment, click department heads, reselect department, and find the just started assignment properly removed. I had this problem the whole time I've been playing this game. It was finally fixed a few patches ago.
Edit: For a long time, even after they fixed the department heads/ship stations from resetting, on at least a couple characters the very bottom or bottom 2 away team stations would appear blank still. Clicking any of the stations would reset it to the proper boffs. But if you go to beam to a planet and get the Choose your Away Team window before fixing it, the away team stations affected would either have generic security in their place or random other boffs. And if I wasn't paying attention I would beam down with the wrong boffs, like one time doing an episode on my romulan character I noticed Toven kept getting killed and wasn't attacking at all. He wasn't suppose to be in my away team and he had nothing at all equipped on him.
It's when I found the workaround, by assigning all boffs to the shuttle station and do it whenever needed, that I no longer have the problem with away team stations being blank.
My guess is with away team stations going blank like that is because you switch around boffs in your away team. As I said, what boffs you take on your away team will be moved to the top of the list and stay there. After a while of taking various boffs on away missions, the alphabetical order of your roster gets so far out of whack.
But the problem with bridge officers and ship/away team stations was found during closed beta testing of the Legacy of Romulus expansion. A while back they did fix it so ship stations and doff department heads would stop appearing blank and/or randomly assigning other boffs to them. So hopefully they can get this problem tackled once and for all.
