What would you think about discounting the old T5 ships in the store?
Basically they will be sub par to T6 - even with the upgrade. So far the best ships came at 2500 zen. So wouldn't it be fair to discount the old upgrades T5 ships in the store to 2000 zen once the new ones come out?
Or do you reckon they will just put T6 at 3000 zen???
I hope that I'll be able to upgrade my Odyssey Tactical Cruiser to a "full" T6 by buying some kind if "upgrade module" for 500 or 1000 Zen.
I hope that C-Store ship swill be upgradable to "full" T6.
Something like this would be (for me) reasonable:
from C-store tier 5 to 5.5 = free
from 5.5 to 6 = pay some zen
I would prefer not paying a full 3K Zen to get a new T6 Odyssey already owning the current T5.
Also, I hope other payable upgrades for gear will be available. I don't mind paying a few hundred Zen to upgrade MKXII Very Rare and Ultra Rare Equipment. I would not, however, want to grind for a whole set of new stuff. Grinding for my current gear took forever (it feels like). Not sure I could do another never-ending grind to upgrade to MK XIV equipment.

thats like asking for the lottery numbers before they even rolled out of the big spinner onto the rack and hoping to get your winning numbers first time. the problem is it hasnt happened yet, in other words right now there is not really enough information to say one way or the other that t6 ship will even be in the z-store, it could be tied directly to a or all reputations and require level 60 or it could cost 5k for the ship from the z store ior it would just be handed out as a mission reward or something like that, how would anyone be able to answer that type of question? we just dont have any real information to work with and on top of this anyways, there are several months to go before its release, so no need to panic yet.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

Well don't hold your breath because it will never happen, the only true T6 ships will be ships that are launched as T6...T5 ships wont get all the goodies T6 ships will...even upgraded.

If anyone things T5 ships are going to get converted to T6 they are just being delusional. Read the quotes yourself. At best the implication is that there will be a boost to some T5.x ships. For the most part the only thing they have confirmed is that T5.x will be usable.
What the heck does usable mean anyways? Herr Commandant Rivera claims the Galaxy is usable too and we all know how pathetic that ship(even post recent "revamp") is. T4 ships are usable too but are many people playing T4 ships at end game.
"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censored, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."

Well...maybe.
BUT, I think it would only be fair if owners of T5 C-Store ships would get a discount for buying a T6 version of the same ship (e.g. owning a T5 Tac Odyssey and then buying T6 Tac Odyssey).

Well people who bought lower ships didn get discount on T5 ships... Cryptic has gotten significantly more greedy since then, so...
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...

Except there will be no T6 Odyssey or any other T5 to T6 ship likely, you spent your zen on them and they're old news...time to spend your 3000 - 3500 zen on a shiny new T6 ship. Sure you can upgrade your Odyssey to T5.75 but it wont have all the goodies of T6.

Reading this, 3500 Zen actually seems much more likely.

I too have the feeling it will be 3000 Zen for T6 ships.
T1 = 500 Zen
T2 = 750 Zen
T3 = 1000 Zen
T4 = 1500 Zen
T5 = 2000 Zen
T5.5 = 2500 Zen
A realistic man :cool:
The usual +1 tier improvements to hull, shields, console, and BOFF skill space.
Cryptic mentioned being able to upgrade your older ships to T6 but it will not have the bells & whistles of the actual, originally T6 implemented ships.
We will not see the prices for T5 ships drop except for the quarterly ship sale events. And that's it.

How could there be no T6 Odyssey?
In 2409 it was launched as the flagship vessel of the Federation.
We are now in 2410 and it is suddenly a lower-tier ship?
I would be shocked if the Odyssey design wasn't kept at top-tier. It would not make sense.
They should just refund everyone who's bought a c-store/zen ship. Half the cost of every ship bought, refunded in zen. Right to each player's individual account.
What the heck does usable mean anyways? Herr Commandant Rivera claims the Galaxy is usable too and we all know how pathetic that ship(even post recent "revamp") is. T4 ships are usable too but are many people playing T4 ships at end game.
Keep this in mind - people have beaten the Borg Elite PvE things (with optionals) with level 40 gained ships and Mk X white equipment.
Are those ships usable? I guess so.
I also guess that your old ships will be able to tackle the new content (no matter if you upgraded them or not) just fine with what you all have (especially if you have some kind of MK XII and/or Fleet/Reputation stuff on them).
Can you do better with T6 ships? Of course. But it'll be far from required.

Cryptic has pretty much confirmed this (without really saying it). How exactly they have not clarified. Look for blogs on this at some later date.
No, they have not confirmed it. In fact, they(Geko) have explicitly stated the exact opposite: "Nothing you have will become obsolete. Ships, gear, nothing."
So you are stating a claim that has already been demonstrated to be wrong.

Well Geko went on to say that T6 is going to be super desirable. So it's kind of a contradiction.
The T5 ships will be 'subpar', as mentioned in the original quote, because yes, you'll 'want' what's available in T6.
As I posted a few posts back - T5 no doubt will still be MORE than enough to get through the level 50-60 content, as well as run the new Elite stuff they have in store for us.

You can't judge what anyone wants except yourself. And anything being "subpar" is completely subjective, and since we know neither tier 6 ship stats nor the method in which tier 5 ships will be upgraded, no one can claim that opinion honestly yet.
I think this is a better idea. If you have already bought a Cstore ship, then you can upgrade that ship for 500 zen. All other t5 ships remain at 2500 zen, t6 are 3000. T5.5 cost 2650 for first buy (I.e., you haven't bought that ship before).
It's definitely not, and here's why. Some people might desire the tier 6 ships. Other people might still want to fly a comparable tier 5 upgraded ship, which means that the tier 5 ships are not obsolete. Hell, the same person could desire a mix of tier 5 ships and tier 6 ships.
Saying Group A will still be desirable and saying that Group B will not be obsolete isn't a contradiction. That is a false dichotomy and would imply that everyone would want things from only Group A or only Group B, when that concept is simply absurd.

This is more likely than lowering prices on T5 ships... After all, just look at the forums: People WANT to be harvested for their money.

I'm wondering how much the inevitable "Delta Rising Legacy Pack" is gonna cost...

Knowing Geko, it will be a sticker, 5K additional hull and 2 K additional shields.

It would be an admission I wouldn't expect Cryptic to make: "Hey, the people saying nobody will buy T5 now that we've outed T6 were right."
