Given the Jobs at Cryptic vacancies page it is pretty apparent that the 'secret project' is a F2P title built with the Unity engine for maximum portability. The conjecture therefore is what theme the title will take. I would love to see a mini STO for one which is tablet compliant although I'd bet it is more likely a Champions variant as easier to code.
I also mentioned the Rep systems and disconnected responses to the community. I plead to you to read a whole post before commenting.
What else did we get under Stahl? The nerfing of Foundry Rewards, time gates, the dilithium refining cap, emphasis on grinds, refusal to even entertain something different besides endless grind, lock boxes substituting as content, the Romulan (not a) faction, Zen store power creep etc.
and really new crafting fall under all what you just listed again dont see it getting any better
rep grind are he to stay nerfing thing will always happen if you like it or not
dont see new EP doing anything about power creep etc.

And this is why this game is in its current, stagnant state. Too many people willing to accept mediocrity (and pay for it as well).
And I know nerfing will happen. I have no problem with needed nerfs. What I have a problem with is unneeded nerfing of rewards while doing nothing to balance it out (or heck, as with dilithium and fleet marks under Stahl upping the requirements for a project).
Those things wouldn't happen if people didn't so readily accept them.
Again, I am not defending the current producer (I don't know how you arrived at that conclusion). I'm just stating part of the reason why are where we are is because of Stahl.
How the Devs see Star Trek, apparently:
Star Trek: The Original Grind
Star Trek: The Next Grind
Star Trek: Deep Space Grind
Star Trek: Voyage to the Grind
i know that lots of ppl arent very happy with things that are currently happening, and that they tend to hold d'an responsible for much of it. but imo nobody seemed the least bit interested in fixing outstanding issues, revamping old things, or adding new mechanics until d'an took the reigns. stahl talked a lot, but there didnt seem to be much action on his part.
on the flip side, i think d'an is even less interested in the kdf than stahl was.
as far as stahl today, i was under the impression he was no longer working on project x and had actually left cryptic full stop. is that not the case?
Thus far, only slight info has been released in various podcasts and tweets...
We know that they are working on "a metric ton of ships"... thats 2000 pounds, so it can't be a lot.
Nothing Official-official yet though.
Well, most ships weigh several hundreds tons, so a metric ton isn't all that much ship.

dstahl did also remove content, by the way. But of course no one cares if PvP maps disappear. Or remember how there was a cool, new PvP mission type coming, some kind of freighter defense mission. It even made it onto Tribble. And then the project was abandoned, never to be seen again.
I suspect the only real difference between dstahl and d'angelo is that d'angelo doesn't like to talk big and talk about vague dreams that never will happen. He keeps it brief. dstahl was better at lulling the fans in. (It worked on me, too.)
But in the end, I strongly suspect both made the decisions that made STO financially successful.
Financially successful is not necessarily something that aligns with what players or forum posters want from STO, however. It can mean lockboxes, zen store items, it can mean grind of all kinds. It most likely doesn't mean free featured episodes every 2 weeks or every month.
Maybe the game would actually be more like people wanted it to be if Cryptic had not decided that playable content is not supposed to be behind a paywall. If it was, then there would always be incentive for Cryptic to produce story missions, because that would be the primary income source.
Except... Do people actually want to pay for story missions? Would enough people do that? Maybe that is actually a problem - it may be you need a critical mass of players to live from selling missions, and does STO have that mass?
And would that really be something you'd want? Fire up STO once every 2 weeks to spend some $ and enjoy a new mission?

Still waiting to be able to use forum titles
In my opinion, X2 was okay, in some ways better than the first X-Men movie. And X3 sucked out loud.

Why are you not rejoicing?
I never said I liked the crafting system.

Thats what I said... Heck, my car is 1.2 metric ton... So.. Whatever they're coming up with must be very small... I am thinking, atmospheric probes..
You know... it's really too bad Geko isn't seeing this... he'd be trolling me on twitter in a heartbeat.

Geko... nuff said.
Heh, I actually over read one negation in your sentence. Oops.
Though maybe he measures them differently. How much does a polygon weigh? How much does a texture weigh? Say, on a standard graphics card memory chip?
Well either that, or it's the same phenomenon as people using "lightyear" for time measurement.
