Unique plasma ground weapons missing

With 9.5 the dilithium store was removed, and the latest patch removed the last of the dilithium vendors.

I doubt the devs considered that these were the only ways to acquire one of a number of very effective and unique ground weapons, such as the Piercing Rifle and Wide Beam Rifle.

The piercing rifle in particular was very popular among players for its secondary burst fire which had a chargeable power cell similar to the plasma flamethrower. They even had unique visuals.

There has been no dev acknowledgement of the removal of access to these guns, and no indication that they will return in any other form. Hence I regard this as a bug and have posted it here in the hope of clarification or recognition.

I'm not sure if you know it, but wide beam and piercing plasma rifles are not dilithium store weapons. As far as I know, they always have been ec weapons, available at any Rommie ec social zone vendor.

So please just check the OTHER vendor.

They were in both. They are not in the dilithium store anymore and there is no way to acquire the purple Xi versions.

In that case I suspect devs will add tehm as crafted items. Or in next lockbox.

Nothing ever gets really lost in STO.

I believe Bort said he's aware of those weapons and has a plan for them that hasn't been implemented yet.
