Skating while in combat

Okay, here's an interesting one. While in red alert on the ground, sometimes my character skates just a little bit. This character does not have the ice skate boots from the winter event, and I've noticed it on several characters since 9.5. It seems to occur most when in a long combat where I have been sprinting and then switch into aim mode. This is not FPS mode, I always play in RPG mode combat. Also, the amount of skating is very small, maybe a couple of character foot lengths at most.

What seems to happen is this. I sprint into combat range with a ranged weapon (I think all characters had a pulse wave), I hit the aim button (x default), and start shooting. After a few shots, I start to move much faster than normal in aim mode, maybe about normal movement speed, and start to skid just a bit. This is all still in aim mode as far as I can tell. Once I am out of combat, everything goes back to normal. The characters I have seem this on are all low level, so no lockbox stuff or anything, and again, it seems to have started with season 9.5.
