The new Xindi Tactical Kit module, Motivation, is way beyond over the top in every sense. The ability provides +85.3% Critical Chance to self AND team while providing a heal of +134.1 on a critical hit. This ability pushes Critical Chance to the point where every shot is a critical hit. An unbuffed PvP science officer has 18% critical chance on average, that's 101.5% Critical Chance under Motivation.
Granted the ability only lasts for the first 10 critical hits (until 1,320 healing is dealt) or for a maximum of 15 seconds, but Cryptic didn't put the ability on a minimum cooldown and Tactical Initiative drops Motivation's cooldown down to 5 seconds. Not to mention Motivation has one of the lowest tactical officer ability cooldowns in the entire game (30 seconds), which means the ability will have an extremely high uptime. I'm sorry, but no ability with a minimum 50% uptime should be capable of pushing the entire team's critical chance above 100%. In PvP two tactical officers can have Motivation up 100% of the time without difficulty. Ultimately I'm guessing the chance percentage buff has a misplaced decimal point, but in any case the ability needs to be changed.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.
Bloody hell, now that is OP. In fact it is the definition of OP. No, it is the best example of a totally OP item in STO, 100% plus chance to Crit is insane.
A2B just needs an adjustment, this needs a nerf. Or its decimal points being put in the right spots.
actually you can use it with the weapon cd module secondary shots with ambush re-applied doffs you can simply spam secondary of certain aoe weapons very powerful ones and nobody in your path lives till the buff expires by which time you can simply use ti reduce cd and use again having a mess around with it fully buffed on my own i gained...114 crit chance 280.3 severity with just one player, now wait till the trolls of groundpvp start using it and you know who i mean
theres also that trait 5% dmg 10 severity every 6 sec in combat stacks x5... its a joke
oh and my testing was without that trait above and without rep traits etc so one player could get 340 346 severity 117 crit chance oh then add it strike team spec 7.5 chance so 124.5 crit chance 346 severity then say a drink buff dosi 124.5 chance and 361 severity now wait till rally cry is stacked from many players lulz oh and that doesn't include the new kits with extra severity and other stuff built in..
yeah its pretty much who fires secondary first wins as one hit is pretty much all thats needed with this behind it and how much i laughed after firing secondary and dropping all 5 players in front it might be amusing but its far too powerful to be allowed
motivation also stacks up so 80+ crit chance per player stacking...
This is the definition of overpower and I am afraid that is going to kill G-PVP for good! Every tact is useing it and now every team (pug or premade) has 100% crit chance! Each hit is a mortal crit, from lunge, exotermic and even split beam can kill 3 with one shot!
This just destroyed not only GPVP but also the crit mechanics.. why call it a chance when is a 100% fact?
Do something cryptic and do it fast! This is game stoping!
PVP once again ruins any chance of a good shot I have at ground stfs : (
If u need 100% crit chance to do a ground STF, is beacose u are doing it terrible wrong. Dont ruin every one else fun so u can succed doing something terrible wrong.
Just great. I thought I might try more ground again because of the utter fiasco that is becoming space, but now I see the new lockbox messed that up too
I bet you could almost 1 shot bosses soon enough if you stack this with all other buffs and ambush doffs.

1) All of the Xindi Traits are under review. Yes, some of the tooltips are wonky. We'll fix them once we decide whether or not to change their functionality. Sorry about that.
2) The Xindi Kit Modules have already undergone some tweaking, and more may soon follow.
3) The Tactical Kit Module "Motivation," in particular, has already received the following adjustments internally, which will appear in a future patch:
- Reduced max duration from 15sec to 10sec
- Increased cooldown from 30sec to 45sec
- Reduced healing threshhold (the max amount of healing it can do before expiring) by 33%.
- No longer stacks when used by multiple teammates
4) Deadly Intent has also received some tuning:
- Max duration decreased from 15sec to 8sec, but may now be increased with the Special Forces skill.
In other words:
We're listening. We're tuning. What you see isn't always set-in-stone, or even working-as-intended/designed. We'd appreciate it if your feedback could keep that in mind, instead of so frequently jumping to the asinine conclusion that we're "purposefully trying to kill PvP" or otherwise out to somehow harm the playerbase upon which we rely.
Yes, and is good to know that they are doing some changes, but the issue with motivation is the insane crit chance rate.. is just crazy. Each tact can bring nearly 100% crit chance, stacking is not an issue when 100% crit chance or 10000000% is the same. The heal is also a bit op, yes, but the big issue is the crit chance that for the moment (I guess we had to wait) is not been adressed.

You guys have to ruin everything good, right?
Let us wear Swimsuits on Foundry maps or bridges please! I would pay zen for that.
PvPers just want to play and have fun too. Getting one shotted isn't very much fun.
Getting ganked in space PVP seems the norm in Kerrat. Run or die, A2B, for space it has been long time there.
But again, they could just make a "half damage to player" modifier.....expect crafted weapons will have a pvp damage bonus one, going the opposite direction.

That's a good idea. Still wonder why Cryptic just doesn't decide what's allowed and disable the rest on the PvP maps. That way PvE can still enjoy the OP goodness of the shinies and Cryptic would have less nerfing to do.
Because I do not think they want to put that much effort into PVP. As much as it would allow a more balanced PVP atmosphere.
Space Marine for example had a problem like it:
The Stalker bolter, a sniper weapon that was utterly lethal in PVP, but quite useless in PVE, so overshadowed it was by other weapons. It lacked the killing power for the bosses, but lacked the ammo against the hordes of minions.

Tried elite stf, public elite stf, still could barely get the damn optionals after weeks of trying.
And now you need to do ground for crafting materials. Which I so hate.
I occasionally grab 2 fleeties and we queue up for the elite queue.. we often get 2 totally clueless pugs that barely find their way through the map... yet the optional we get most of the time done with a couple minutes still left on the clock.. and that was before the xindi lockbox of OPness.
Of course space stfs are faster.. can get all 3 space ones done in less then 15 mins, ground takes like at least twice that but nothing this game has on ground is even remotely challenging if you have people that know how to play and ain't run around with newbie gear.

I wonder what time he wrote it cause about 10 hours ago i bought 3 motivations at 1 million eah even biotech siphon was more expensive
Lol, come on. You could just get the kit now and breeze through the ground STFs using the PubliEliteSTF channel. It's just way to easy now.
Don't worry, it will be nerfed 'til it's ultimately destroyed to hundreds of pieces. Until then, deal with it.
p.s. The topic's name is hilarious, imagine if a completely strange person comes in and sees your title. He'll wonder if you're antisocial. lol

That's the worst, the bait and switch.
They sell something good, and than make it useless after its sold. Very underhanded.
