It's kinda disturbing to know I can't fly that little canon beauty like a pure escort because it is outdated. Just give it ensign universal, 0.99 shield modifier, battle cloak device. That'd do wonders for it.

I agree the "refit" version should be idk..... Refitted??
As to see in the star trek universe a galaxy class gets a major overhaul in the refit process, so why not the defiant?

this machine is a monster, basically a kumari with a better layout, and on meth :D
i'm bored with the bug anyway...

This ship would be a dream if it had a 5/3 weapons layout like an Avenger and they turned that useless ensign tac into a universal. But fingers crossed they may one day refit the Defiant in this manner.

it's freakin' OP already, don't you want it to have an extra i-win button too?

This escort is epic, but it isn't op. my patrol escort retrofit can deal almost the same damage, but survive in a firefight longer. The xindi ship might have a 5 fore, 2 aft weapon layout like a kumari, but it can't dish out as much, it's wing cannon platforms make sure of that. It is simply an impressive escort. I actually sold the Xindi Aquatic dreadnought to get it and the Xindi tac. officer. I figured since I already had a Jem'Hadar Dreadnought Carrier, i didn't need one that was slightly more maneuverable. Anyway it is a great escort, not an OP escort.

i dont think u can pass xindi as "minor civilizations"

in the show u see reptilians as very aggressive spartan racist culture..
so strictly form startreks pov it may be heresy lol but i don't think Defiant suppose to be on the same level of an elite xindi escort..

The Xindi escorts from the show are from 2154 ish, the Defiant is from 2370. Your argument is invalid. Apart the huge time difference, the NX 01 was still able to hold its ground before Azati Prime. Why is it T1 then?

Why the hell can't the Defiant be upgraded? If you tell me that its fine the way it is, I'd say you're lying. I would gladly hop back to Defiant if they reboot it from the Tempest.

First I wonder because this ship isn't that good as the stats say - its a half glasscannon with the most builds.

But after flying many rounds with it, I like it more and more. Many possible builds - insane dmg especially with my build atm, fast, cheap option to a bug and in some things better - but still not as tanky as my bug.

well...dont u think that MAYBE the xindi ships r UPGRADED version of the old ones?? u dont get outdated ship...u get new one
if u read the dev Xindi Lockbox Overview u see that new coming ships are refit to our time frame
    quote
"The grand prize of the Xindi Lock Box will be the Xindi-Aquatic Narcine Dreadnought Carrier. Although the exterior of this elegant warship hasn’t changed much since it was first encountered by the NX-01, Xindi engineers have updated its internal systems on a regular basis."
    thats not invalid argument ...

for the Defiant...i like to see it upgraded to. but i dont think its gonna happen bcs there is new ships coming all the time.

like with all the 5 fore weapon ships, i find sticking all DHCs up front just works best. if you AtB it though that tac ENS isn't terribly useful, but seriously how can you complain with 17 turn, 5 fore, and 5 tac consoles? being down a skill should be seen as a balance on something like this. if you run all cannons you dont really even need an AtB build though, if you expect any dogfighting, 2 AtD instead will be much more helpful to match the mobility of a typical bug, then it really will dominate everything.

I'd gladly accept an upgrade to the Defiant, so long as I get to keep my one ship and the current boff layout. Yes I did just say that. Though I'd love to have 5 fore weapons. :D
I ask nothing but that you remember me.

OFF we should make a "My name is XY and I support the revamped Defiant class warship" banner or something like that, with some kick-TRIBBLE pics of it killing bugs. i would really like a dual quantum torpedo launcher with narrow firing arc and more damage output. /OFF

And I'd really like the The Death Star as a support ship...

But don't think either of us will get what we want. :(

One, still fairly noobish with builds so forgive my transgressions as I forgive your lack of tact.

Two, I have had lots of fun with boarding parties, and while I know most people would prefer A2B there I still like my boarding party

Three, the build I offered, despite its faults has crazy damage potential and the chances to knock out the opponents weapons make it more sturdy than it would appear

I'm personally more worried about the idea of having zilch for shield heals whether proc or manual. Especially with a resilient shield. And having Tyken's 1 with nothing buffing it.

Also, the damage potential, although somewhat higher than average, is still low, in comparison to the standard escort, especially since you have 3 beam skills that lock each other out.

TBH, it has a lot of glaring weaknesses in the area of survivability.

The thing about Boarding Party is how it first has to get through spam-clearing (FAW, or Acetons at the moment), and then, once it lands, is cleared by Tactical Team. Not to mention it has to catch up to today's crazy-speed escorts. You could use it......but yeah.

Maybe for the lulz, but I can't see it as being crazy in a good way. Giving you the benefit of doubt, I would like to try fighting you just to see if there was anything I missed. Any preferences for an opponent?

There was an issue with translation, P2S was misread as P2E in the link. So that and biomolecular shield generator act as my shield buffs.

The choice of critical hit chance procs on the beams was designed to increase the chance for weapons disable, and the tyken's is supported by a doff for creating echoes and running it with an aux/weapons power layout supported by the aux buffs from rep traits.

This may not be the best build, but it does have high enough damage potential and is designed in a manner to increase survivability and cause frustration in unconventional ways.

I would like to thank everyone for ripping on my build, but it would be best to go back to the intent of the thread, and I would love to see other possible builds for the Xindi so I can learn.

Why not? My Tempest dropped RSP in favor of more tactical oriented options. Now I run ET1/ATB1/DEM2 - EPTE1/ATB1/EPTS3. I tend to roll with over 10k shields in it, and when things get scary I use doffed BFI (x2 VR doffs, 50% chance each to heal shields as much as EPTS3 does when receiving energy damage). I hardly get to have shields lowered and don't miss RSP2 at all. Honestly, I could finally slot DEM2, move EPTS to Lieutenant Commander and freeing up a slot for Engineering Team 1.
Additionally, Aegis set 3 gives me Energy Feedback Conductor that applies +100 All Energy DMR, 30% damage reduction to shields, +2% energy damage when hit by energy attacks. Coupled with EPTS3... 60% damage reduction to shields just with them together, not counting Undine T4 passive...
Man don't know about you, but this revamped set is frigging awesome for any kind of ship.

The Aegis Deflector itself is shield friendly, Engines are Hyper with 10% defense bonus, Shields Covariant with Adaptive Shielding to hull. I don't miss Elite Fleet ones.

You can live without RSP. ;)

I see a lot of RCS, do you need it with a ship that is already this maneuverable?
The Xindi Weapons Platform seems to be a powerful free pet, it would also likely benefit from the bio-molecular instability in the bio-molecular disruptor build, why leave it out?

Is the fleet gear that much better? I haven't joined a fleet yet, so I haven't tried any of it. The lack of set bonuses seems to be a drawback, although I do have an interest in some of the fleet ships.
