Leave the limit as-is, prices are sky high as it is and the rich are only getting richer. Market forces need to stop this wild exchange pricing going on.
SORRY LOCKBOX MAFIA!
Delta Rising is the best expansion ever and the players love it! No, seriously! ...Why are you laughing so hard?

I think you misunderstand the way this works, the limit on the exchange does not affect the prices of items in any way, when something surpasses the limit it is no longer available on the exchange instead it is taken to trading channels. What you're essentially saying is about as ignorant as "If I can't see something it's not real". You not being able to see items for above 500mil on the exchange does not make them non existent.
Shadowraith, you seem very passionate about something that does not affect you, in fact you seem to despise people who enjoy playing this game in ways other than your own style.
Guess what, I enjoy making EC and playing the economy and who are you to tell me that is the wrong way to play the game because you don't enjoy it or know how to do it and calling people lazy for wanting to be able to list an item on the exchange rather than have to spam trading channels and zone chat? Yea no, opinions are opinions but yours is plain arrogant and wrong.
It is immoral to impose this regime of theft and destruction of property on people. It does not 'cost ec' to run the exchange, so it is immoral to call theft a tax or fee when applied to the exchange.
Taxes and fees obtain their moral virtue because they fund some service or fulfill some obligation.
Actually you couldnt be more wrong. Its not free to run the exchange, it takes server space too. In alot of MMOs there isnt or wasnt for a long time action houses or exchange systems like in STO, so ppl have/had to open private shops and keep their characters in-game if they want to play the economy way. So yes, a tax on the exchange would be more then justified. The exchange saves you from staying with your PC allways on.
And its not theft on ppl proprety. Theft on ppl property is to exploit a ruleless market and take advantage of ppl, thus stealing from their pockets via an exchange system. Thats immoral, taken advantage of ppl instaid of at least try to educate them or at least do something to prevent that. But its no point of telling you that since indeed you seem to just repeat some ferengi TRIBBLE over and over...

I am not Shadowraith but I have to answer this. You are wrong too. A limit of exchange will make the items go away... in a way. It will help a bit to stop all the inflation the market fliiping brings. Yes it will take them on the trading channel, wich is actually a good thing. It seems its not public anyway. Probably becouse of that this thread exist. Scamers and market flippers got tired to try to scam eachother so now they want to extend the pool where they want to fish for suckers via exchange.
And I dont think any1 has any problems with ppl playing the exchange game way if that wouldnt start to affect other players. The fact is that without some rules or any form of control, the rich players got too big and too much. And when their fun starts to interfere with other ppls fun then there is a problem. And the whole exchange playing starts to get wrong.
Most ppl want to play the game's actual content and not be "forced" to play some silly number economy game to be able to afford items on exchange at ridiculous prices. Not becouse ppl dont know how or cant, but becouse they choose NOT TO play the exchange to exploit other players and transfer outragious ammounts of ECs via exchance in their pockets. When you are forced to gather more and more just to stay competitve in the game then its something wrong. If you want to sell stuff over 500m then you have to work for it to find a buyer. Via exchange it seems allready too easy for the market flippers anyway if they had that much ECs and as they brag about it in this thread too.
But alas, indeed as some1 else was saying, this thread looks alot like a troll thread with some EC sellers dubious connections. Really the Dev's should just nerf the "Turn in Confiscated Contraband" doff mission from 4 h duration and 2000 dil payout to 20h duration and 500 dil payout and hit hard the f-kers:mad:. This really needs to happen. Alot of them get their massive amounts of ECs that way via lots of farms.
We should start thinking about endgame scenarios how to conduct commerce when we reach that limit. With the current inflation rate it's not that far.
When that time comes, there will be a thread similar to this, with people who have never seen EC figures larger than 8 characters, telling us all how we play the game wrong and trying to sound intelligent by making ridiculous statements about economy mechanics and gold selling.
Trades worth more than 1,000,000,000 ec already happen, most rich players net wealth is kept in items not currency, so it won't make a huge difference. But if I had my way, the ec cap would be lifted to 100billion, unless cryptic does something about the inflation (several ways to do this have already been suggested) they need to do something about the ec caps.
I realize this will go over a lot of your heads, but people playing the exchange and "flipping items" does not increase inflation, vendor trash, is basically solely responsible for the problem. supply and demand will always dictate the price of items. If someone buys up all the stuff and re lists it for ridiculous prices, don't buy it, wait a day or two for it to regulate, which it always will.

As much as I like this idea, unfortunately the sale of lockbox ships makes Cryptic money, in key sales.
