Yes, there are other threads about this. Yes, I wanted to create a new one, because I am like that!

Actually, I was just reading what the Curiosity has been doing on Mars and looking at some of the new pictures. I am always moved and inspired by these and other space achievements. Being a Trek fan of course my mind went here and to my science character.But...

...all I can do with my science stuff is blow things up. My science ship...blow things up. My science Boff...blow things up, or heal people so they can blow things up. At least my doffs get to do science.

There were some attempts at getting past this on New Romulus, and I liked that. I am not complaining at all about the game as I enjoy what is here. But it would be great to see some pure science missions with related skills where you need to determine if a colony can be built on a site, determine if a site is suitable for mining or terraforming, etc. Engineers could have skills where they could build terraformers or whatever. And, as the title of the post says, actually get to explore and maybe make prime directive decisions as was in Into Darkness and Insurrection.

I would love to see a whole expansion dedicated to exploring, researching, and building with nothing new whatsoever to blow up. I am interested to see what the new crafting system brings to the table.
