I really don't know what has gotten into the mods lately. A long standing Thread still daily updated is closed without ANY reason given and all attempts to restart the thread are closed right away. The thread talked about a long standing issue with a certain class of starship and i see no valid reason to close it other then the devs wanting it closed. Mods and devs you provide a product and service here. As customers we have a right to complain about a part of the product or service. And considering how big that thread was when is was forcibly closed should tell you what we want. Instead what have we've seen. the kits redone when i never saw a call for them to be messed with. redoing the crafting system which is already dead to begin with. yet ignore and issue that the customers have been figurtivly screaming at you. I'm sorry mods but defending these actions does not bode well for you with the community here. step back and look at the big picture. You are becoming the strong arm of the devs who don't want to deal with a known issue and wish to bury it. Why? we don't know other than one of them hates that ship.
Nope, we don't have a right to complain about Cryptic on their own boards. They have the right to delete whatever they want. That's why this "discussion of moderation" will be deleted and penalized too. And don't get me started on the idiocy of a community moderator system.
FKA K-Tar, grumpy Klingon/El-Aurian hybrid. Now assimilated by PWE.

Oh my... it was about time, that thread's gone so much in flame and hatred that people won't stop crying. If they had a little of common sense they'd realize Galaxy is meant to be a huge healer, because it has the stats for being one.
Defiant's another class that needs a revamp, but it didn't, and I don't stay here complaining about it. What makes you cool enough to keep trash talking about the Galaxy?
Personally, I think closing it was the wrong move because if there was one thing the thread was good for, it was containing the issue in one place. Now we're going to get endless threads like this until a rage well for the issue is allowed to once again take hold.

Forgetting Intrepid, Aquarius and all the other ships that need a revamp... Galaxy thread closed? It was about time. People complaining they couldn't do DPS on that boat. It's like complaining about not being able to use Defiant or Aquarrius as healers! Galaxy's one good healer. Don't like it? Don't like healing? Get a damn Avenger.

During last Friday's Livestream, PWECaptainSmirk emphasized the community needs to be more positive and constructive. Devs don't listen to "that sucks!"
Frankly speaking, I'm glad that point was raised. (And more than once by Smirk.) I have a feeling the moderators are taking that to heart.
But good luck getting everyone (specifically the "that sucks" posters) to act more civil on these boards. So now we have more policing on the forums.
I assume it doesn't mean there cannot be strong arguments or disagreements on Cryptic/PWE. But general rants aren't productive; and using the Galaxy-class threads as examples, they're magnets for negative, non-productive, endless harpings.
What would REALLY help? Having the management team give a better idea about the product roadmap. We complain about the Galaxy-class issues, even after many were addressed a few months ago, because we players (aka customers) want a better product.
The Livestream was very enlightening.
My takeaway from that? Use common sense. Provide feedback which the devs can act on. Stop the diatribes; instead, suggest solutions. Be constructive. And qualify why those solutions should be acted on.
Submit a ticket to PWE if you feel they are abusive.
While I may (or may not) agree that they are abusing their power and positions, the rules apply: Discussing moderation on the boards is not allowed.
However, PWE will act swiftly if they find them abusing their power... After all, thats why they have volunteers in the first place... Easy to fire, easy to replace, and you can't hold PWE accountable for bad judgement.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...

You're so wrong it's sad.
On these privately-owned forums, you have whatever rights the owners choose to give you, and no more. And those rights can be modified at said owners' whims. You yourself agreed to those Terms of Service by creating the account you're posting from.

where. it might have a small bout of hatred. but most of ther time constructive feedback on how to fix it.. It was an unnessecary clossure an did nothing more the alienate the community.
OP, you are not wrong, but thems the breaks. Nothing to be done. And 'submitting a ticket' does nothing, even if you catch a documented contradiction to the Terms of Service.
Galaxy: Healing hasn't mattered AT ALL in this game for a very long time. Damage is the ONLY meaningful stat. Period. The End. Arguing the point is just blindly defending the devs.
Galaxy 'changes' did nothing to address the issues that people had been asking for/complaining about for Y E A R S. It was insult in the disguise of concession.
cryptic we gave you a galaxy re vamp now like it or lump it have a nice day plz dont forget to buy zen and turn it in to dill for the new crafting we just re vamp
Personally? I'd like the Community Manager to let slip the dogs of war and ban hammer these entire forums all the way back to the Stone Age. If it were me, there would be daily rewards to the mods for who banned the most, who banned the hardest and most creative ban of the day. Then, game accounts. IP bans, too. Not just logins.
I'd let them run rampant for about a month, maybe two. No appeals and no logging in on a buddies' account to continue the snarkiness from a different angle.
These would be public executions. Upon logging in, a player would see a list of today's bans.
Example:SoAndSo@ImANerfHerder - banned for whatever.
And before anyone says, "you cannot run a business like this!" I'd also post publicly the dollar amount @ImANerfHerder has spent on the game to date. I'd wager an LTS most of the loudest and nastiest complainers haven't spent a single penny on this game. Not all. But I'm guessing the number will be well above 95%.
And before anyone says, "freedom of speech" A few things things I'd like to point out.
1) pwe/cryptic is a Chinese company. US Constitution doesn't apply.
2) First Amendment to the US Constitution applies to speech against the US Gov't not some video game.
3) First Amendment to the US Constitution also guarantees someone the right to be quiet. And Lord, do I ever wish more people would exercise that part.
4) The game and these forums are a private club. To be a member, people have to agree to abide by the bylaws of the club. Failure to do so isn't a constitutional right. It is a violation of the Terms of Service someone agreed to when they joined the private club
The Community Mods here are volunteers. This means they give up free time. This means they do not get paid. This means they do this to help the Community. But most people's minds are made up and presenting facts here will only confuse them further.
Smirk, Wendy, whoever. For the love of Gene, turn the Mods loose. Give them carte blanche to ban as they please for about a month. The rest of us will thank you for it. I am probably not the only person around here who thinks this way. I am probably the only person dumb enough to post it.

Oh yes after being apart of this community since beta and a mod since they were first introduced, without internet atm I'm just happily paying extra data to be on here to moderate from my phone because I'm on a power trip.
