The repeating "the bomb is in the position" and the rest is so irritating! Btw sometimes it happens that the undine are stuck in the wall and cant get out.
This seems to happen often-ish in Undine Infiltration, one thought I had is that maybe it's caused by multiple players starting and completing an objective around the same time? I'm not sure, but previously the only place this happened with any regularity was Captain Shon in the Tau Dewa patrol missions, and it seemed to happen with his lines far less often than the ones in Infiltration.
its not just in that mission, when you get the bug and then leave the mission you still hear it every where you go, it got so bad for me that it completely brought by sto to a crawl and i had to do a hard reset (close sto and reload) while i was in a stf (thank god it was a private stf and i came back before the system kicked me out of the stf)
Yeah, I know it continues after the mission. I usually just restart as soon as I'm done the mission when that happens because it really does get insufferable after a while. I was just saying that mission seems to be where it happens most often. It happens there nearly every time I play it, versus the Tau Dewa patrol missions, which have the same issue, but it occurs far less frequently.
After running Undine Infiltration for an extended period my personal threshold seems to be 7 runs during the 7th run the game becomes almost a stop action movie while in mission. running 2-3 characters the audio is still noticeable unless I turn off the voice volume option, but the game is still playable. My personal conclusion is that the mission is leaking those Und:Inf audio clips into System audio ram? and each time you replay it it leaks more into that. after 7 runs I can peruse menus for characters/fleet etc but anything requiring movement suddenly will drag the game to a crawl.
Very easy to reproduce especially if you have more than 1 alt just play Und:Inf upon completing the mission you will begin to notice the audio if you have dialogue yoices volume slider turned up to 50 or more.
I started the mission while on Risa. After i got back, it was a bit confusing at first.
You could think a bomb was under one of the Powerboards, ready to blow up at race start. And the Undine decided to infiltrate our vacation destination #1 as well.
But my bet is on Q. He had so much fun with repeated messages last winter. Something had to be done this summer too. :P
This bug is a might tricky to report on. However, it is not a new bug. Hereafter, I shall refer to it as the Mveculous bug, after its original discoverer (who encountered it during a roundtable shortly after season 6 launched - video found here, time stamp 22:39). For him, it was Fed Fleet Alert and "Comm Array Disabled." (as an aside, Mveculous was LIVID when Cruiser Comm Arrays were announced). However, for me... it's Undine Infiltration and "We've found a suitable site for the Nanite Bomb, move to that location and activate the transport." A fleetie of mine and I tested this until it broke the game. Details follow. I'll post as much as I remember of my testing process, in the hopes of finding the bug.
It started after... well, Undine Infiltration. This time around, I queued solo from the Risa Resort, and was returned there upon exiting the mission (the run, by the way, was perfect, and we got max marks).Upon beaming in, I was greeted by the bug.I ran around a little, but found nothing. I queued for Fed Fleet alert, flew the mission (the bug occurring from time to time), and beamed back to the Risa Resort after. Every time I spawned - or REspawned - I'd get the bug, as well as at seemingly random points in the mission. Upon returning to Risa, I did what any seasoned TRIBBLE-tester would do: Ran around trying to get the bug to occur. Eventually, I did, at the bottom of the north-facing ramp connected directly to the resort transporter pad (beam in, look to your left, that's the one). I ran down it. Nada. Kept running about 20 meters, got the bug. Ran back... got the bug EXACTLY at the foot of the ramp. However, going over the spot from the other direction - or over the spot from the same direction without first triggering the other spot - did nothing. I eventually found a third spot where it occurred, about 30 meters due west of the ramp (in front of the lounge chairs). Here, moving the camera caused it. I began to speculate that it was something to do with the camera's position on the map - like how having your camera positioned just right on DS9 caused ambient audio to cut out. So, I swung the camera about rapidly.
This is when I broke the bug. And the game.
After a brief amount of time swinging the camera about, the dialogue ceased to play and my framerate dropped like a rock. Attempting to induce the Undine Infiltration dialogue only got me the brrr-RRT that typically preceded the dialogue. Someone nearby petted a Tribble, and I knew I was screwed. The Tribble audio was scratchy, somewhat echo-ish, and playing at half speed. My framerate dropped again. In fact, ANY source of noise caused my frame rate to drop. The amount of framerate loss depended on the volume of the noise. I decided to test voice-overs - no change, same echo/scratch/half-speed as everything else. So, I recruited a fleetie for a short test PvP on Assimilated Cruiser. The bug persisted, causing the same noise when I spawned or respawned there, and the audio continued to be entirely broken (for every sound effect). Next, I pulled up Task Manager. I set it to "Always on Top," opened he Performance tab, and went on with the PvP. Here's where it gets weird. My CPU usage was constantly at 100%... unless something caused noise in-game. Sources of noise dropped my framerate AND my CPU usage. Even more strange was that the CPU usage drop was similarly proportional to the volume as the framerate drop was.
We ended the match, and the bug persisted upon returning to Risa. Closing and relaunching the game did away with the bug. I will attempt to get a video recorder so that, should the bug happen again, I'll be able to record it.
The bug is difficult to reproduce, not being a 100% thing, but the best I can tell are as follows:
1: Play Undine Infiltration. Beat mission.
2: Leave map using "Leave Now" button next to countdown.
3: If bug occurs on spawn, find a spot on the ground where it occurs reliably.
4: Spin camera around. If nothing happens, repeat step 3 until camera spin yields bug.
Can confirm, did infiltration and now on every map load I get the guy giving instructions, but it's all his audio at once, overlaping, and sometimes he will repeat "the bomb is in postion..." over and over and over.
Yes , i have the same issues. "We've found a suitable site for the Nanite Bomb, move to that location and activate the transport." This sounds every time when i switch a location and it forcing me **** down the game.

If you wanna reproduce this bug 100% of the time play Undine Infiltration on a couple of alts thats all it takes, as the audio glitch will follow you across characters.
After about the 5-6 characters for me the game will start lagging severly, after about 8-9 at most game is unplayable, close and relaunch is the only option.
It has been reported on since the "Und:Inf" mission went live with season 9 and to the best of my knowledge I have never seen it acknowledged or any patch to fix it.
I do remember that this has happened several times before including when season 7 LOR went live.
PS The audio glitch occurrs wheater you do the interacts inside the cave system or not done it both ways a numbers of times, glitch would still pop up on a map or instance change.
ok what the power mad has edited out was a copy of what GM sent me in their response they said this was a unknown issue and to report it here on the forum. As ive already said this is a other ignored bug in the game.
I finally got this to reproduce. Thanks for the information everyone. I'm getting this written up and sent on to be fixed. Hopefully, it won't take too long, but I can't promise anything.

Out of curiosity, did it have anything to do with multiple people finishing the interacts for one objective in the caves? I re-ran it a few times and noticed it tended to happen when more than one person finished, say "Scan Caves" or "Scan for Transport Site".

It just took me multiple runs 2-3 to get it to happen. Even with cheats, that mission still takes a bit to get through and yesterday was the first time I had enough time, with no interruptions, to run it multiple times in a row to get the bug to trigger.

You found the bomb... Good for you. See that wasn't hard.
The bomb was always in the position, you just needed to take out the last of the undine to stop them from activating the device. :P:P
it normally doesn't happen on a first run of the mission , but if you run it on another toon or wait for the cool down , its bound to trigger the bug . each time you run the mission, the chances of the bug appearing increase .

so is this bug being ignored like 100s of others
