Has there been any statement from STO about the situation or is all this just a very bad prank gone wrong??

Saddest thing is that I'm having more fun on the forums then when I was playing STO.

Should be a hint do the devs if "pen&paper" make more fun than the actual game itself. :D
    This is Crypticverse...

My trace dies after 66.201.32.138. No idea where that is at though

Just to clarify something for you folks, traceroute protocol works on top of ping protocol, so it the ping protocol is disabled on a server you won't get further than that server.

And I just lost a day's worth of work thanks to this crash. But doubt they will add a day to compensate.

As hundreds of people are still quite happily playing the game (As seen by the multitude of Risa instances running), probably not.

I'm also able to get back in. Hopefully it was just a temporary connection burp somewhere along the line.

nooooo!!!... wait.. why aren't they using a borg hamster!?

If it were the borg running the servers it'd be run with near unerring efficiency.

The Hamster probably got fed up of all the bullsh*t it was fed, that or it kept asking for specific food and it got something else instead. :P
