Either the wheel needs replacing, or the hamster does.

    Make it so! :P

I find this line of replies sadly hilarious. We put a lot of work into the massive list of fixes/changes above, and ya'll are hung up on the ability to skip our content. =p

Also got kicked. Was playing Fluid Dynamics when I started to suffer from as well as rubber-banding, and the lag kicked itself up a few notches. Went into an Elachi Alert, and things were a bit smoother, then went back into Fluid Dynamics and it felt like the game was having a stroke. Now I can't log back in.

Never send a hamster to do a mouse's job. A gerbil maybe but not a hamster.

Well with the server being down, this would be a good time to get some sleep.

Lucky you, it won't even connect to the account server where I'm at. (USA, South Dakota for ref)

Okay, it responded now, we'll see how long it stays.

This is really odd. People I know on Steam are getting in just fine, but I can barely even connect to the chat server through XML.

Not that anyone who can help will look in a thread called "Hamsters Down!", but I'm making a note of it anyway.

EDIT: Got to the launcher, now getting "Unable to authenticate:".

Well so much for staying up late, they won't get this server fixed anytime soon.

And I just lost a day's worth of work thanks to this crash. But doubt they will add a day to compensate.

From what I can tell, the server itself is working fine, however some of the DNS routing through certain internet backbones has gone to sleep. So some people will not have issues, and others cannot connect at all. It could be 24 hours before the responsible pipeline provider gets the problem sorted out.

Ugh. I want my STO fix dammit.

ARC runs fine, as does the forum, so all i can tell is it is related to their server base.

Seems like a Europa only problem again, just like last year. I remembering how they tried to tell hundreds of people the problem would be at their end of the cable, which definetly was not the case. Took days until they fixed that Connection Problem for Europeans...

Just got kicked again from the states, same as before. It's not a Europe only problem entirely.

The account server 'connected' but took forever to load char, waiting to see if I can actually get back onto the game server or not...

and it gets back on only to have server immediately not respond when I need to respawn in sector space after dying in Tau Dewa Red Alert. And of course not letting me do so, making me wait the whole transwarp cooldown, since clicking it brings "Server not responding" again.

Well if it is internet backbones or something similar (routing etc) then it is affecting Aus as well at the moment because I can not authenticate via the launcher.

I'm in Midwest USA, and it is effecting me too. I would guess it's related to all the DDOS attacks that have been going on the past few days. (3rd day now?)

So lets expect the total server crash soon. It always deteriorates in the prelude.

That happens if the hamster are organized in a trade union. :D

The situation we are all facing is not a new one. Last year similar problems occurred with logging in due to a very high volume and old equipment. The equipment they replaced and all was well. I think the Hamsters finally saw that it was Friday the 13th and in there panic worrying about something going wrong one of them had a little accident and got something wet. So I am not to worried that the problem is long term just that this full pot of coffee I brewed my go to waste because I returned to bed.

In short "Oh-well some days life just sucks"......

Connection dies at bbnet1.bsn.pnap.net (right as the connection jumps off Above.net's backbone. My trace dies at 63.251.128.41. Anything past that does not respond. However I can ping above.net's router all day and the connection is fine.

So, it's not cryptic/PWE.. or the server. It's some ISP in the us that is asleep on the job.
