Official Feedback Threads: Elachi Weekend Event (Now Ended)

pwlaughingtrendypwlaughingtrendy Member Posts: 2,966 Arc User
Quick Captains! You're needed on the front-lines to stop the invading forces! The Elachi are pouring through multiple Iconian gateways, abducting innocents. A fleet has assembled to shut down the gate in a desperate attempt to stop the Elachi forces. Read more about this weekend event and all its rewards in our latest blog here.

This requires me to get out of my beach chair, doesn't it? Not sure I can muster that right now.

Brilliant! I loved that event, and when I saw it in the calender, I got quite exited. I know I'll be playing this alot. (Mainly STB though, of course.)

Farm, farm, farm, farm, farm....why do rep elites when you can circumvent them?
    Chive on and prosper, eh?

I'm sure this has been complained about elsewhere, but let me reiterate: I really, really prefer the previous system, where one could choose a reward 'flavor' (Omega marks, Nukara marks, etc.) LATER (when opening the marks box) rather than NOW.

I understand that choosing NOW introduces systemic inefficiencies that benefit STO/PWE, (eg, choosing the wrong flavor means you have to do 'it' again, whatever the 'it' activity was) but is there any other reason why can't it be as it was previously?
Please reconsider ARC. Please make it optional, at the least. PLEASE.
It seems the vast majority of your most active players (forum regulars) hate the idea... and while that's a small subset of the playerbase, I think it's an important constituency.
THE PLAYERS DO NOT WANT THIS.

Ooh, one question I just thought of, what is the cooldown on this? bPlease tell me there isn't one, like the shuttle queues?

Woohoo! This was an awesome queue, pity it got removed like Terradome and the DS9 queues. Glad to see it back!

The Elachi Alert queue will offer a 50% bonus to mark rewards during this event!
50% off what base amount, exactly?

Regardless, not really feel like grinding anymore. All these grinds and time-gated events totally worn me out. I even stopped logging in to refine dilithium. I guess I don't see the point anymore - grind for better gear to make an easy content even easier to grind is not good enough. And having a PvE mission appear only for one weekend every now and then kills it for me even more, as I feel kind of "forced" to play it before it goes away, instead of having it available all the time to play at one's leisure.

Oh well, enjoy your marks people. The rep gear certainly requires a lot of them...

This really should've been a regular space queue for NR rep, it's far too meat and potatoes for a weekend event.

Also, what's that green ship in the screenshot? Put that in a lockbox, it's gorgeous.

    /snip.

I'm curious about this as well just did the Elachi Alert got the 2.5x bonus optional and even got the Undine daily mark bonus box since it was my 1st run of the day which amounted too .....

    103 marks total?

I can get 92-97 from the Undine infiltration que on a non-bonus event so where exactly is the 50% bonus marks?

I would like to ask if the event got slightly changed.

Because when it was still in it was a by far too simple and easy "stand before the gate for a few minutes" mission ever.

I would wish for some more Elachi resistance and them breaking through to the Science Vessels instead of just dying to BFAW and CSV at the gate right away.

I didnt even knew it existed, then again apparently everything in STO is "fan favorite" ... yes, I know, marketing talk and all that but just because I know doesnt mean I have to like it.
I think this statement has more to do with the fact that when Cryptic removed the mission without any notice people wanted it back, as it was one of the few decent space PvE missions with reasonable Rom Marks rewards. Thus "fan favourite".

And truth be told, the mission wasn't really anything spectacular to begin with. Basically just pressing F to close the gate quicker and then defeating some elachi. Nothing to brag about, certainly.

Was hoping there would be an elite version. Why is this not permanent though? It makes no sense.

I got the bonus, 63 fleet marks with a mark boosters and wtf lol?

The mission also didn't get updated/improved in any way, it's "F" forever and faceroll over the keyboard to destroy extremely weak Elachi attackers, 2-3 players doing that are more than enough, the others can "F" forever.

Not really cool, the Shuttle Event was much more fun and better.

I love it. Just pulled something like 103 Omega marks out of a quick run. Sure it's simple and easy, but sometimes (like now), that's a GOOD thing.

If I want "good lord, this is impossible", I'll play the Hive. If I want "tough but beatable", I'll do Infected Space Elite in my free Dyson ship. If I want "LOL faceroll" with a decent payout, I'll play Elachi alert on my OPmitar.

This is a good thing. Also, it's a great source of Romulan marks, yay!

    Bwuh?

HSE is so easy people have managed to do it solo. Even HGE isn't a problem anymore. That's the problem with the game - there IS NO hard content.

    It is possible...

I know people who have 2-manned HSE. I've 2-manned HGE.

    ...

    ...

    Unbelievable.

    That's just RIDICULOUS.

    I mean...

I go in with the Adapted KHG set and elite fleet gear on a freaking SCIMITAR and 2 fleetmates who know what they're doing, and we can't complete HSE with a full team.

And here's somebody basically soloing the thing.

    This is just nuts.

I don't think that it's a content issue. I think it's an issue of people literally getting everything there is in the game to get, and then using it.

Before this goes off topic and becomes a talk about every other STF in the game, back to the Elachi Alert.

It is not only by far too easy, it is BORING. People stand around doing nothing most of the time if they are not repeatedly pressing "F".

And as people would even do boring TRIBBLE if it gives great rewards, the marks we get seem to be between 64 and 104 and bugged, I once got 64 and once 104, both times did I do the bonus.

I also don't see the promised extra marks, that was what we got before it became an "event".

I won't bother running this event anymore, every event we had before was a lot better.

How the heck did you get that many marks? The standard pack is spitting out 47 to 48. I am not planning on running it any more with such TRIBBLE rewards.

Oh, the Elachi!? You mean that race you never expanded on at ALL after the big fight over New Romulas? And just went away without a trace? Yeah, I remember that race. So they're back... And you expect me to forget about my days of leave on Risa that I clearly deserve after stopping every other threat to this galaxy for an event that last only 4 days!?

You sir, have obviously never seen me playing. I am the reason for not doing anything STF team-up related :D

I think it's one of the Monbosh's support craft, since it seems to be under the effect of Hazard Emitters.
