Yeah but the thing is people who "grind" their dil are hardcapped by the refinery cap on their character. We contrabanders just circumvent that limitation entirely with our army of alts. :P
I dont think enough people refine and convert an significant quantity, i doubt it has that much impact
I know several people who refine 500 to 1 million dilithium per day.
One friend has over 130 toons on several accounts and turns in contraband all day long. I do it on 40 toons during the bonus weekend and that is about all I can stand - it's just another mind numbing grind.
I know of people who have the time to spend 12+ hours a day on sto ...
But getting contraband for 130 toons to rotate thru ... this takes goldfarming to another level.....
It's a mission I am sure. You would have to have a network of KDF suppliers to sell you large volume.
Some people like grinding out the contraband and some like grinding out the dilithium.
But it's just a big grind - and no fun for me.
But for the avg player - if they get just a few farming toons going - they can make a nice sum if they have the time.
Some grind for "fun" - some grind for virtual profits. Some of the players I know RP as Ferengi - moving billions and billions around the exchange all the time.

The question remains, how the hell do you get the 1.04 billion EC you would need PER DAY especially since converting Zen to Dil would be more efficient way of getting it than converting Zen to Dil to EC to Dil

Indeed, some are grinding to convert to Zen. Some do it to buy C-store goods for free, some do it to buy Lockbox keys (and Lob Store Items) to sell on the exchange or for themselves. And some do it out of necessity (small fleets have small Dilithum reserves, so they have to grind so they can do Starbase Projects).

They would not need that per day. Lets say someone has 3 accounts with 40 toons per account.
Total of 120 toons.
1 contraband turn in run = 5x120 = 600 contraband x 43k ec = $25.8 million per run
4 runs per day to hit cap = 4 x $25.8 or about $100 million per day
$1 billion in contraband under this situation would last 10 days of "grinding"
I could go on with the math about where to go from there - but let's just say it is very profitable turning it back into EC
New batch of figures from my "run" last night ....
Beam out of Ganalda, Travel upwards untill i got my jobs filled, ....
Eta Eridani, Pi Canis, Tau Dewa, Psi Velorum, Alpha Centauri, Regulus ...
I also found some more Contraband rewarding jobs it seems ...
Track Fleet Movement and Blocakde Terminal ....
Assault Starfleet Refitting station - Success -
5 Dil, 51 Mar, 102 XP, 116 SP, 490 EC, 30 Com, 2 Contra

This is a good idea to track. I've taken a look at the spreadsheet and figured there are some improvements to be made (not sure if that's just Google Docs being hugely limited?).

What is the reset timer on the contraband missions after you complete them?
It's really hard to say. Usually after a full run of 22 missions I find it very hard to find 22 more during the 4 hr cycle of the game. Usually during the next cycle if I go to enough blocks I can find all that I need. Often this involves collecting the missions during one 4hr cycle and waiting until the timer flips to the next. There are so many blocks that offer good missions - 9 total - that you can just warp around.
I like setting the mission "Skirmish" to active - and transwarp there to Eta Block- head north into Regulus - right into Pi canis - up into Tau Dewa- Up into Pi Velorium - up into Alpha Centauri - then transwarp to Beta Ursae - down into Alpha Trianguli - then right into Zeta Block(if necessary)
Then transwarp back to Eta at the "Skirmish" start point for 500ec next time I log on.
So it is possible to get some of these marauding missions more than once a day?
Maybe not the same ones - but there are many. I do notice it much harder to find some after collecting in the same 4 hr cycle - best to wait until the next cycle after collecting.
It could be my imagination - but crits seem to make the next pickings slimmer as well.

Yes, you should be able to as long as you allow enough time to pass. Sometimes if I wake up early enough on the weekdays I log in and quickly search for marauding missions and then I go to work. When I get back home from eventually I would log back in and collect the rewards from those missions and then load up on marauding missions again. Then I would simply play around and do my "dilithium grind thing" for a short time before playing with my other toons (Fed & Rom-Fed).
Before finally logging off for the night I switch back to my KDF toon to quickly load up on marauding missions.

Enjoy.
The idea is that you have one table with your data and a pivot running off that to get your *information*.
The not so LoL part of it is that I have to disable my friends log in/off notification as seeing the notices go by hundreds of times in annoying.
Thankfully I am not on too much any more. My days of grinding STO are mostly over. But I do like doffing now and then.
O.o Damn, Thanks dude It was Google Drive being limited
2 Questions,
1) is all the data there?
2) How the heck do you do that

Rinse and repeat:)

I would track it, but there is really no way to accurately tell.
