    In the past week or so, either my luck has taken a dump or...something else has been doing on. I'd usually hit up 6-11 Contra per toon per go round. In the past week or so though, I'm usually looking at 0-3 Contra with the odd toon getting 5.

    Same missions I've always done - I'm pretty lazy about how I DOFF for the most part.

    edit: Then again, my overall Dil rewards have dropped off significantly as well. Used to get 4-5k, and now I'm lucky to get 1-2k.

    Shouldnt be changed, i am running the same assignments i ran when i created the chart several months ago and the rewards are totally within the same range

    EDIT: There is no way you should be getting 0-5, 2 or 3 contraband assignments on success only will drop 5 and on crit you are looking at as much as 15 for 2-3 assignments.

    Also 2 tips,
    1) look around a few sector blocks, you can usuallly find 12-15 missions to run for contraband
    2) Once you have sirius sector block unlocked (maruading T4), I find it to be the BEST sector block for DOFF assignments awarding contraband.

    Another note: A lot of assignments dont have results for critical success, as my DOFF roster improves these should start to fill in.

    To give an idea of how lucrative contraband farming from DOFF missions is, in the past 3 days, with two fully functional toons and one barely functional one, i got 87 contraband

    87/5=17 remainder 2=34000 dilthium and 2 contraband OR 3.48 million EC'

    And by fully functional i mean only 100 DOFFs, only 1/3 or so of which can be used on these assignments (these are also mostly uncommons)

    A single KDF toon with 200 Doffs of 1/3rd white, green and blue quality should get you about 30 contraband per day as long as you are actively looking for Doff missions that rewards contraband.

    LOL - I know some KDF guys that are pulling in 2000+ contraband a DAY! - and selling it for $80 million+ every day - or over $2 billion every month! and they do almost no grinding or work of any kind. There are some crazy guys who are netting several Billion EC every month.

    Thank the Elite Orion Slaver pets as well as the KDF Marauding doff missions.

    This is no joke!

    Fed side gets only 1/100th the contraband farming potential of the KDF player.

    It pays - literally - pays big to roll KDF!

    Slavers pull almost nothing. It is not possible to pull thousands of contraband a day unless they literally had the max amount of toons and that is all they did plus having the appropriate doffs to net good amounts. Of course they could also be gold farmers with multiple accounts.

    Now that is a trick i would like learn .... getting alot of contraband on my own....

    Doing this multiple times per day is obviously optimal, but this can still net you 30-40 with a good team of DOFFs (per character) in one run

    Something to think about, if you dont like KDF ships is that KDF Aligned Romulans can do this just as well.

    A question for everyone who has seen the sheet, would it be helpful if i created a second sheet in the document with just the success/crit averages for each assignment?

    Would also need the number of samples to make sense...

    As an aside ... there is also the variables on the ampount of doffs used per mission, the rarity of the doffs, and the crit quality level when the assignment is started.

    Would interesting to see if it can be "averaged" out.


    As another point ... someone who can grind 250 contraband a day, earns 10M ec a day ... that goes a long way into buying the required purple doffs off the exchange to use in the marauding to maximise the contraband return.

    Ill see if I can get that to work, i can start logging DOFFs, but honestly im using mostly uncommons with one or two success traits on these missions, so until my team gets better its not neccesarily worth specifics. What i could try to log is the +crit% that the mission has when i start it, see if that has an impact.

    I also still need to expand these toons to 200 slots. Im grinding the dilithium for that now.

    Yes, the quality reward definatly has impact on doff missions (not all ...like "turn in contraband". its locked to 2k dil).

    For example, the turn in eppo tag doff mission ... quality on crit can make all the difference of starting a new eppo daily, or every few days. I believe that Crit's give u more of the purchase tokens, depending on quality.

    Yes it is more than possible. I have not done it in awhile for 2 reason: A)I have a new job and game time has been severely cut back B) after $3 or $4 billion EC - it just not that interesting any more.

    I have friends that use this and other methods to more or less control the prices of most things on the exchange. The amount of EC some people have is shocking - my $3 to $4 billion makes me seem like a shoe shine boy!! They spend 8 hrs a day running the games exchange - why? That is their STO game - for some people it's grinding STF's - for others is manipulating the virtual "stock" exchange. Seems like a waste of time to me - but hey - it's a game to them and if prices keep rising - people keep grinding and whipping out their credit cards to by Zen to convert to EC and Cryptic is happy - so alls good.

    Later today I will go in and run the circuit on a few KDF toons just to get a feel for it again. But really it's just another form of grinding - and I am really tired of grinding.

    But just keep this in mind - you can have 22 doff mission slots - almost all mission you pick pay avg of 2 contraband on a success - which is certain with the right purple doffs - so that is 40+ contraband per RUN!! Guaranteed! Before any crits. Just don't try raiding any Vulcans - they don't carry contraband:P:( (sometimes you have to go farther then the run I mentioned earlier - and add the blocks around Ds9 - but transwarping is free or as little as 500 ec)

    I have been trying it out the last 2 days to get a feel again. I thought on some crits that I had got 10 contraband in the past - but have yet to replicate that - could be my memory or a nerf - or a nerf to my memory:P

    what you primarily want to load up on are all the 45 min -Raid/Assult/offensive/blockade/bombard - etc etc missions

    Those provide 1 or 2 on success and 5 on a crit

    Just remember No Vulcans as they DO NOT provide contraband

    PS - in each sector or Regulus/ETA/Pi canis - don't forget to check you tactical dept head officer to find the forced labour camp missions - send 4 Fed prisoners off on each mission for 500 dilithium! Your Brig will hit it's 20 prisoner capacity fast!

    To the best of my knowledge, no marauding mission rewards more than 5 contraband on critical success in my experience and according to the linked list of marauding missions below:

    The poster stated that his 10 high level toons can pull in 300 - 500 contraband. That's 30 - 50 per toon and it totally within the realm of possibility since that ia what I can get with my single KDF toon. 30 contraband on a single KDF toon per day takes very little effort. However, to get 50 per day you need to put in some effort.

    My Fed toon probably gets about 4 - 8 contraband per day. Sometime less since missions rewarding contraband are not easy to come by. For example, there are "Investigate Reports of Contraband Trafficking" (or something like that) which I have not seen in 5 days while flying through the sectors that I normal fly through every time I played STO during those days.

    Any chance of adding a column for what sectors these appear in? I generally hover in Tau Dewa, and the areas around DS9 seem to be good, but a lot of sectors rarely seem to have any of these.

    Also, I hadn't seen this fully mentioned, but I generally see these pop up under current map and first officer most often if that helps anyone.

    That's because those are the only two instances where you will see Marauding missions.

    "Current Map" Updates every 4 hours. Doff missions available from your Boffs and personal tab should update every hour. The timers are in the lower left hand corner of the Doff window.

    I started to do that for some of them, the column directly to the right of the data has location data for a handful, I will start logging them in that column.

    Two more things:

    1st is that if you have questions/comments/suggestions and dont want to wait for me to check this thread, you can mail/PM me in game @jarodroto123 or e-mail me at jarod.roto@yahoo.com (I check my e-mail several times a day in places where i have plenty of time to answer mail but do not have access to STO

    The other is that i noticed the n-word being commented on my spreadsheet, while i do know that some people use it as a synonym to "my boy" or "man" or "dude" ect. and i have no problem with it being used in that context; those comments can be seen by anyone, and I would rather not chance a stray comment offending someone. So please, if you are going to comment, refrain from using profanity.

    I dont think enough people refine and convert an significant quantity, i doubt it has that much impact

    Yeah but the thing is people who "grind" their dil are hardcapped by the refinery cap on their character. We contrabanders just circumvent that limitation entirely with our army of alts. :P
