Ok, so I just played viscous cycle, yes that viscous cycle that the developers claimed was patched the same week season 9 was realeased. Here we are... Auto-fire won't work and the planet killer doesn't spawn. Yes, I love dying 5x and only getting 38 undine mks for an elite STF cuz the developers don't know how to patch things properly in the game.
I dont think they will going to fix it. Because they need to start get riding of the stupid lag of the undine battlezone first. Nothing will make sense until they do that. Once they achieve that, then they can work on fixing some bugs like the one you are reporting. But since people doesnt play vicious cycle anymore, due to the stupid lag and other issues, i dont think cryptic will be hurry into fixing it. But this is the way things work, get used to it. Its probably that it will never get fixed.
Er, what? Every time I've gone in VC or VCE, I've drawn the planet killer. Some of the other optionals change or didn't spawn, but the giant target's been there every time. Which means the bug is erratic, which are the hardest ones to squash, as they've got to figure out what the trigger conditions for the error are.
I do freaking wish the cutscene for it was skippable, though.

and ive seen the planet killer not appear several times.
also has strength issues, seen it be a cakewalk, weapons do damage, shields hold, most of the time same player same build weapons dont do much, shields drop mega fast, die a few times before end.

The anomaly problem has been reported since day one. Frankly, if they decided to make optionals not optionals in Elite, they should at least take the time to fix the bugs with optionals.
What about the planet killer you have to kill before the third shipyard? It sometimes didn't spawn at all, but I haven't had it happen post DR to see if it's an instant failure or not when that happens.
