    Wahhh whiners whine about whining

    LOLOLOLOLOL

And, of course, the opposing camps of those who complain that Cryptic doesn't support RP enough, and those who complain about RPers flying realistic builds around.

And I suppose we can count this as the obligatory comment from each faction wanting something the others have, along with the response of the currently-owning faction complaining about "Cryptic always shows favouritism to FED/KDF/RR".

But we can't help it, we're just this sexy!

    :D

I think that when Smirk sees this thread, he will laugh very loudly and then hand us all warnings for being off-topic. At least, I hope that he will laugh. I've worked damn hard on these jokes.

Feddy bears whining about OP rommies, KDF grognards complaining about Feddy bears getting a new 5-tac-console escort while the KDF has none and about OP rommies, OP rommies complaining that the Feddy bears and KDF grognards have true carriers and why can't the OP rommies have real carriers...

Yeah. While I agree that Rommies are OP and that the KDF needs more 5-tac-console ships, the sheer level of whine about this stuff went well past critical mass months ago.

Or the ones who argue that EVERY ship should be made a carrier "Because, like, they've got shuttlebays on the show, right? That makes them carriers, don't it?"

Never mind the fact that it balances out, Feds have a larger selection of ships to choose from, KDF has an entire class with Universal BOff slots (Raiders) and the Romulans have Battle Cloak standard, for everything another faction has, every faction has something to help balance the scales. I've never entirely understood the 'Faction Whine', personally... if someone REALLY thinks another faction is getting more 'Dev-love', then why don't they just start a new character with that faction instead of whining? Yeah, I know, 'unrealistic expectation of common sense'.

It's not easy to understand, that's for sure.

I think that most of the KDF whine is because the KDF, which is supposed to be warlike, has no escorts with 5 tac consoles or 5 forward weapons; the Feds have both. Heck, the Rommies have both, if you can call a Scimitar an escort...

Rommies have openly OP ships, but that's fine because half the people who fly scimitars don't know wtf they're doing, so that evens it out a little.

Anyway. Yeah, there is a lot of faction whine, which makes VERY little sense. I'm going to stick with my openly OP scimitar and enjoy it until something changes, because whining is kind of pointless when you can 2-man ISE in 5 minutes.

We aim to please and amuse!

Hail Bacon! Hail Ba'al! Hail...uh, something? Maybe I should go full villain and hail Shai'tan? (I've been reading a lot of Wheel of Time books)

Hey, I should totally start my own sketch comedy troupe with organicmanfred and anyone else who is willing to hail Bacon, Ba'al, and anything else I can come up with.

Batten down the hatches, the Whinemeister is here!

Seriously, edgecrysger, there's nothing wrong at all with the FE rerun. I've been farming Spin the Wheel all week, and I've gotten my Lobi juuuuust fine. If you haven't, that's on your end, not Cryptic's.

I have not heard anything about any problems with the FE rerun, except when it was picked up before the rerun started? Maybe be more constructive and explain the problem?

I am talking about the rewards ,not the lobi. A LOT of people cant get their boffs because the stupid overflow bag bug. Please, get informed before you say anything stupid. Cryptic said they were investigating, but again, no fixes. And again no event rewards for a lot of people. When i saw emergency patch, i of course imagined this was part of it. Of course i was mistaken.

But, we are used to it, right?

    Edgecrysger doesn't work that way.

He has literally never, to my knowledge, posted anything that was not a complaint. Last maintenance thread he tried to drag Smirk into a complain war by taking this post as an excuse to whine about I'm still not sure what; fortunately, Smirk was smart enough to not get too engaged.

Seriously, edgecrysger complains about the CM going above and beyond the call of duty...

Yeah, unfortunately i am the only one who "complains" for the right things. The only thing you guys can do is to say "good job" again and again. Dont expect they take their job seriously. They never will lol. So many kids around.. lol.

    What overflow bag bug?

Also, if you can't get a special boff, what you do is you remove another boff candidate from your reserve roster (delete or put on the Exchange, doesn't matter; heck, even mail it to yourself), then select the appropriate special boff as a mission reward.

If you're worried about it getting stuck in your overflow bag, what you do is you delete a couple of reclaimable items, choose the rewards, delete superfluous stuff for EC, then reclaim the reclaimables before you leave that map.

And if there is in fact a bug preventing people from claiming items from their overflow (and neither I nor anyone I know has ever encountered this bug), then you submit a bug report and wait for a fix. This is how things are done.

The bug I know about is randomly not being able to open the overflow bag until the game is reloaded. This can happen with an inventory that is empty, full or inbetween.

Logging out and switching toons doesn't help.
If you've come to the forums to complain about the AFK system, it's known to be bugged at the moment.

Or, is that an issue this downtime is addressing? I've been away for a day, have not had time to check up on the news...

All a hangover is is a case of being overly dehydrated, and since caffeine will dehydrate you, it makes perfect sense. ;)

Well, since the bugs section of the forum is useless, i will repeat again here the same bug. When you collect the boff from the reward, and you click on "not now", because i dont want him to join my stations, just to be in my roster candidates, it goes automatically to the overflow bag instead of the inventory, and you CANT recover him from there. And that happens to A LOT of people, with the Reman boff and the Breen boff. Its reported already several times. But i guess you people, cant stop asking for new stupid content and cstore ships but you never visited the bugs section of the forums. Always the same story.

    File a bug report, wait.

And if you can't open the overflow bag, make sure that nothing goes into overflow.

It's really not that big of a deal, unlike the graphics glitches that a lot of people have been having (and which are apparently being worked on as we speak).

    Wow just wow.

The only thing cryptic doesn't fail in is finding surprising new ways to fail.

Bringing down the server in the middle of prime play time on a Friday afternoon?

Can we not test these things before we do them? It's not that hard, maybe not update every week, but instead test updates and deploy a functioning update less often? Maybe I'm trying to make it too simple :))

Well it started here at 16:00, thats about 8 minutes ago. Maybe too much players logged in at the same time to do something before the patch.
