To be fair he wasn't perfect and there were issues with the 3D models and the details showing. I think some ships take a bit of a processing hit because they just aren't optimized much. The general details are pretty basic, as well. The newer ships DO have better materials and overall look. That just doesn't make up for the customization that people grew to love in years past.

Who's responsible for letting this employee go? Sheesh!

if i recall, the previous ship dude was "captain Logan" who hasent been around for a LONG time (march/april of 2012 was his last time with cryptic), which seeing as JamJamz has been making ships that have interchangeable parts, i'd say no, thats not quiet true that we wont have any customization, look at the dyson ships, while they look similar, in the ship editor you can clearly see variances in each part.

And then theres the PER, it got a whole new skin that can still be used with the older ones.

Any SINGLE release ship (as in has no variants) might be that way, but not ships in multipacks.

Materials don't count. That's not ship customization. That's just a new color demarcation chart. Which is why most of the ships for the past couple years have been quite a rip-off in the ship customization department. Going back to the Bortas and the Oddy, you get no customization at all. I'm not impressed that the Dyson 3-ship pack allows a little cross-pack customization, but honestly I'm never going to use it nor buy it. One thing that kept me interested in the early versions of this game when I got started was the ability to customize my ships. Add these nacelles to a totally different looking main hull, and back to a third option of saucer, for example. Giving you options that are 99% identical but have materials that are... well... 99% identical? Doesn't count. IMO it's not even the bare minimum to qualify for "customization" of a ship. Same goes with the Kumari 3-pack options. Not enough to qualify in my book. Used to be different classes of ships were included as the different "look" that you could mix and match. Hell the Tork started out as a Vorcha skin, and it was a good one.

I was tweaking my Fleet K'Tinga Retro last night just to keep things interesting (and to boost my damage output by a little) and I was wondering what the highest DPS you could get out of a K'Tinga might be.

I suspect it would be an 8-beam FAW boat with romplas and plas sci consoles to add a little boost. I can pull off 10k DPS in a fed Assault Cruiser, so with the same boff setup the K'Tinga should do the same. The question is how high can it go?

    For rep, I was thinking +crtH +crtD, aux offensive, and I drew a blank on a 4th.

For non-rep space I was thinking there weren't too many to boost DPS. Accuracy is okay but the acc overflow isn't working last I read. That means most of the non-rep space is for hull healing and the like.

Consoles play a part. Plasmonic is a must. I don't have access to fleet TAC consoles, but that would help a lot. Assimilated has a small boost to crth and crtd. Tachyokinetic adds maybe the same as assimilated module does. Zero point adds 1.8% CrtH. If acc overflow worked, I'd say nukara particle converter. Outside of that I can only think of +pla rom sci consoles and maybe an offensive that probably has too long a cooldown to be effective (iso charge, sub. int. circ., etc).

Then there's the boffs. Nausicaans all, or load as many SROs as you can? What's better, +2% damage overall, or +2 CrtH and +5 CrtD? Sure thing, or chance for a thing?

This would be a TAC player, so it has APA and Tac Fleet. I suppose a Zemok doff would work but way too pricey for me. Hypothetically that would allow attack patterns to be used more and do more damage.

EDIT: Also set bonuses perhaps. run ERP and Zero Point console and get 2pc "+7.6% Plasma damage" boost. Protonic Arsenal has minor 2 and 3pc crth and crtd bonuses but really doesn't seem to fit into the plama damage type. /END EDIT

So, academically speaking: Thoughts? Highest DPS possible from a Fleet K'Tinga Retro?

Is there a DPS meter than can be applied to the game?
