No Display in game start up

So I have had this probelm once or twice before? But it was a few years ago and it fixed overnight. It seems that when ever i start the game...I can get in, but the second i do i get a black screen. I can see the Starfleet mouse symbol but thats it, i get a black screen and nothing else. Thing is, a few mins ago i tried again and i got into the game by pressing random buttons and i can hear my ship buffing when i hit my key bindings but all i see is a black screen...Its been about a month sense i was last able to see and i really want to play again. Anybody offering help?

    In your launcher options select safe mode and start the game, this will reset all your graphical settings so you need to redo them (don't forget to un-select half resolution when redoing them).
