I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.
You need the Elite Scimitar, which will be sold for 10,000 zen each in a few months.
pics or it didn't happen and until I see proof of this then it won't happen.
plus the scimi is already a 10 console ship it don't get any more elite than that.
to the OP just follow the advise of others replying in here boost your aux and use some doffs and you will see the difference.

I'm almost certain he's making a sarcastic remark about pay2win.

when did they change it? Just curious, as i thought they did the change, just cant find it.
Been that way for a long time, ever since they made the health requirement actually. Never been 25% as far as I know, or if it was, it was a long time ago.

speaking from a purely trekkie point of view, the thalaron weapon should decimate you crew level only, especially since in ST:Nemesis, it is stated that thalaron radiation only affects organic materal. this is also demonstrated when shinzon assisinates the romulan senate with a thalaron bomb. additionally any stafleetship hit by it would probably take moderate damage to it's system when the thalaron radation wipes out all the Bio-neural ge packs used in the ships computers and subsytems. Bio-neural Gel packs are supposedly a new technology when voyager gets sent in the delta quadrant. Starfleet would probably use this technology in the vessel in the future.
What do i think this means in terms of STO?
The Thalaron wave should devastate the crew of any starship it is used on. it should also cause minimal to moderate amage to the ship depending on skills, power levels, etc. On undine ship since the ships are supposed to be 'living', the thalron weapon should be a hit kill. i am sure everyone knows this already but killing off the crew impairs various thing during battle such as a reduction in hull repair rate.
Star Treking, across the universe. Only going forward because we can't find reverse...
Thaleron weapon is a joke. A fun mechanic to play with for about a day but the amount of damage is nothing compared to the amount of damage I can do with full torpedo spread, cannon scatter volley and an attack pattern. Not to mention the 3 console slots wasted. The only one worth keeping is the shields up during cloak. Once I get more powerful and can get elite fleet consoles I'll get rid of that one too.

From an out-of-universe perspective, it's because the Scimitar is hilariously overpowered as it is.
In-universe? No real explanation that I can come up with at this time. Maybe it's because Donatra's thalaron is Borgified? Or yours is Republic-issue, and was depowered so any random Romulan captain with a god complex (i.e. practically every player character ever) can't nuke planets with it?

I don't know, I can get the damage pretty high (above 150k) if I do a combo of routing all power to aux, alpha+tacteam. But yeah, still gimmicky as it's only useful against stationary targets or if you can keep the targets rooted into the cone of fire area for the 12 second charge. As such the only placee I've used it is in Azure Nebula or against Tac Cubes or the assimilated carrier bosses.

As for Donatra's one shotting everything, I would be delighted to show you a science ship that she can't 1 shot
Actually it is 50%.

no such thing in this game, I don't believe in the pay2win scenario.
