My only complaint is that the new sliders aren't that much more ranged on Aliens than on preset races. They're awesome otherwise. Nice job, whomever is responsible.

As I said before I like what I've seen/tested thus far, however I do like the idea of being able to adjust the angle/rotation of eyes as well as Aliens having a larger range of effect for the new sliders.

While we're on the subject of sliders in the tailor is there any chance that the leg length slider could have a greater effect at 0, that is to say allow shorter legs for humanoids (Humans, Andorians, Vulcans, Trill, Romulans, Orions, etc)? At present it is impossible to create a character that is short (5'6) and doesn't have disproportionately long legs. I would like to be able to have both short and in proportion (height below waist ~ height above waist) characters.

Would it also be possible to modify the way the overall height slider works so that instead of scaling the base height of the character it instead scales the overall/final height of the character? For example at present you set the height to 5ft 10in however by modifying the leg/torso/neck/etc length sliders your character can be shorter/taller than indicated/set. Whereas with what I am suggesting it wouldn't matter how you scaled the body it would always be 5ft 10in tall in the end.

TL;DR - Allow shorter legs for Humans and similar species and or height slider should scale character to set height rather than scale base height of character.

has anyone seen anything new in the Tailor? I know most are busy playing the new missions, and finding the un-announced little 'Easter eggs" that Cryptic are trying to slip in.

Just curious as to whether the UI Team has had any luck increasing (Decreasing?) the Minimum Slider settings, and adding anything new ... Like Eye Rotation? And maybe even separate colours for Eye Shadow/Eyeliner and Lipstick? Or Make-up for Trill toons?

Will the sliders of existing characters remain as they were? As in, this won't change their looks, will it? Worried about my character's bust slider.
Let us wear Swimsuits on Foundry maps or bridges please! I would pay zen for that.

Not that I know of... last time I checked, things seemed to be the same, as it was when it was first thrown on Tribble :)

Also, we're having the clipping issues with combadges on females again, especially when the arms bulk is increased and other than 'standard' stance is selected.

It actually isn't all that different than what I showed months ago but I'll indulge :).

And just so hopes don't go beyond the capabilities of the system, yes, there are some additional sliders, and yes a couple existing ones may have extended min/max. But for the most part, these new additions only allow for very subtle additional scaling.

Other than that, the organization is hopefully more pleasing to everyone.
I can't check from where I am, but I believe these are up on Tribble now. :)

I completely missed that these changes were already on Tribble, as I've been fairly busy of late. Unfortunately, I probably won't have time to check out the new sliders this weekend either. The positive feedback from other players makes me optimistic though.

Giving a heads up here for some cool stuff coming down the pipe.

There are new subheadings to greatly help navigation. A bonus is if you want to randomize each section you will be able to. For example, want to randomize just the nose settings? Just hit the randomize button next to the "Nose.." header.

Managed to throw in quite a few new sliders as well. Waist, hips depth, eyes depth and a few others offering minor ranges to fine tune your toons.

    @crypticjoejing ... Hoping you're still reading this thread ...

    First of all... THANK YOU!!!

Couple of quick questions ... Is it at all possible to get the following in as well?

Eye Rotation = outside corner and/or inside corner eye height adjustment (similar to the new mouth corner one)

Lip Size Adjustment = Separate Upper Lip and Lower Lip "Fullness" sliders

A 20% ~ 35% increase in the "range" of eye Size, Height, Width/Separation and Depth for "normal" humanoid species (as in, not Alien)

A 20% ~ 35% decrease in lower body dimensions on the "minimum " setting as currently, at the lowest/minimum setting for lower body it's still way, WAY, oversized, compared to the upper body.

A 50% increase in both directions (minimum and maximum) for foot size/width
Oh, hoho hohhhhh, Oh,, hoho, hohhhhh

And can we PLEASE do something about cute pose ankles? They are most certainly too small (even with max feet size and width sliders) when compared to even the lower legs let alone the upper.

I did a little test on a humanoid female.

I set the overall height to 5ft 6in
I set the leg length to 0
I then scaled the torso, neck and head to be approximately in proportion to the length of the legs.

End result a character who's overall height was about 6ft 6in give or take a couple of inches! :(

No, that's a massive improvement with many of the options that we discussed four months ago and a few we didn't. Thank you, I can't get on Tribble right now, but I'm extremely excited.

Well, after having a little bit of a play with new sliders and adjustments, I can say that the changes are AWESOME!

I'd agree though, that there does need to be a lot more down scaling on the lower body areas.

At maximum, most upper body parts are fairly even, but at the lowest setting, there is a very large and noticeable difference, and the results are not very realistic (as realistic as you can be with "alien" bodies I guess)

For humanoid (as in NOT "Alien") Bodies:

I would recommend scaling the "minimum" sizes for lower body parts down about 30% more.

I also think that the facial scaling option need about 20% more variety i.e. The "Eye Width" needs to have more variation, and particularly the Eye Height, needs be able to be set lower, Eye Size definetly needs the ability to be made larger on all facial types.

Lower leg size (Calves and Shins) needs to be upped more, as does overall foot size. And Calves particularly need more scaling.

Basically, it looks like at the moment, some of the adjustments are a little on the "conservative' side, I'm not saying we need to see ridiculous freaks being created, but definetly a small increase wouldn't hurt.

One final request is to have an "Eye Rotation" option similar to the mouth corner slider.

Not all faces have the inside corner of the eyes lower than the outside corners, so the option to "rotate" or at least Raise/Lower both the inside and outside of the eye corners would be a big plus.

    ...

One final note, have you guys been playing with the uniform textures and details? It seemed like many of the uniforms were much more detailed and finely textured. If so ... Wow .. they look great!

    Eye rotation is quite brilliant.

I hope in the next update of the tailor, perhaps with the next expansion, we will see the ability to swap eyes, noses, and lips between the presets. I have noses that I would like to use with a set of eyes and lips I'd like to use with a different nose and face shape

The fact that the cheek bone sliders are in leave me overjoyed though, this is gonna be great. :D

Nothing changes when loading up your character for the first time with the new sliders. Existing appearances won't be affected if you don't want them to.

Them, and every new delta quadrant species and cast character option that can work in the tailor. I really, really, really hope they don't try to keep anything arbitrarily exclusive to an NPC (besides the mobile emitter.)

We can get serious use out of ALL of that content! Just enable the options, please.

Just had a quick play with the sliders. I think some people will enjoy the extra flexability. :)

And just to confirm, I also noticed no change in the current settings of my characters when I logged into Tribble.

I'd recommend moving the "heads" to the other side of the display (far right of the screen). If you scroll your mouse across from the sliders to the imagine to rotate or zoom it does a "flash" change to the head style when you cross over it and it's really jarring.

I'd rather they just got rid of those preset options or gave us an option to turn them off.

I really like the new sliders. Like somebody else posted is there any chance we could get more variation on the lower leg slider. I was using an alien which I think has the max variation. Maybe about 30-50% larger. That would be a bit much for most normal humans most likely but aliens are well alien.

Also has anybody checked to see how the romulan faction aliens work? The ones I have I can’t see on the list to transfer so I can’t check. For some reason on holodeck I’ve never been able to make the sliders for my romulan aliens scale as much as my fed aliens.

Can we also just open up the color palette more liberally? It's silly how some items are limited to certain color palettes. If I want to go all DayGlow or all flat black, I should be able to...on everything.

Heck, I'd even pay for THAT option!

Very nice, it would be great for some numbers to go along with those slider settings so we can recreate looks easier as copying attires does not always work correctly when loading a characters look if it's another race.

that's what the save option at the bottom is for :P I use it plenty of times, but I also do see where you're coming from, I have a Fed alien that I had to literally screen cap using Steam to recreate for my KDF toon way back in the day.

^ This please. I still really dislike the placement of Odyssey belt on Odyssey Long Jacket on female model. It looks OK on short Odyssey, but hideous on long, on females. The belt model is in game, so it can't be that difficult to either have a slider for it to be moved, or an alternate, long oddysey jacket belt be done...

Another suggestion - the waist slider, I love it. Now, would it be possible to make it, so that the waist lines up with the upper part of the torso, so the curves at sides disappear completelly, at certain slider setting? Difficult to explain what I mean, and picture is worth thousand words...

    See here

I drew red lines, to illustrate what I mean, purposefully using simple background contrasting with the costume too.

that's what im thinking. further, a slider available for moving some of the other odds and ends to allow the player to line the bits and pieces up. some uniforms work better with a higher belt, others lower. plus. there is player's preference of course.

maybe a slider for skirt length? it would allow for players to adjust the "maturity" of the uniform.
