You can just get it by doffing in sector space, no craftsmanship required.

Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

I see the mission for the hargh'peng torpedo a couple of times a week.

Tell you what, next time I see it I will do the mission and send it to you... For the cost of a mere 299 purple Doffs. :P :D :P

    Okay...

I have started the mission for the Hargh'peng Torpedo.

It takes 1 hour to complete.

Right now it is 10:20PM EST, so it should be completed at 11:20PM.

    Awww TRIBBLE...

I forgot, the Hargh'peng torpedo is bound to the character...

I can't even mail it to my Fed toon.

Sorry, I guess you just need to check with your Tactical Officer from time to time since it shows up as a military mission. I guess I will just install it on an unused ship.

For the feds do the Doomsday mission. For the KDF, there is a mission you can do to get the Harpeng. I just can't remember which one it is, but it is one of the early KDF missions.

Negative, for the KDF it doesn't come from a story mission. The KDF has ocassional Doff assignments that allow crafting of the Hargh'peng via the Doff system. I found those most often in Omega Leonis and Eta Eridani, bot they tend to show up in other sector blocks as well.

I could of swore there is a mission on the KDF side where you can choose the harpeng as a reward. wIll have to login check when I get home from work.

It's a nice enough Torp (it's pretty and pinky purple and stuff :) ) and it's secondary blast can be effective for large groups.

But ultimately, it's slow RoF, and it's inability to be modified by BoFF powers limits it's usefulness ... XII Plasma, Fleet Torps or the Rom Rep Hyper-Plasma do almost the same damage, but they CAN be modified by powers ...

that's one of the reasons that I did like it, not so much anymore, but way back.

because I run full on cannons and just drop the torp in when needed its hit pretty hard and didn't require boff skills to do its damage. then jerk it out and drop my cannon back in
but as I said that was way back when not now .

Yeah, Torps seem to be even more "personal" than Beams and Cannons ... Quantum Torps for instance (regular ones, not the Dyson one) Have absolutely devastating Damage, and either TSIII or HYIII make for explosions that even JJ would be jealous of ...

Throw a GW at a bunch of ships, then a TSII or III at the group, and if you time it right, they all Warp Core Breach together it's froickin' AWESOME ... Trouble is, that Quantums really need shield stripping to be effective, because if the enemy has shields, it massively reduces the damage ... Coupled with Tetryons, a Sci Drain build though, and they are great.

The XI Harpy is probably not a bad Torp to throw in a rear slot, as a "gift" for enemies after you fly past ... And if your good at counting, and micromanaging, you could time a GW to coincide with the aftershock, but sadly, once you get to lvl 50 there are a lot of better (read: easier) options.

My favorite trick to use with Harghs is to toss in a Torp cd reduction doff. Those do work on Harghs. And of course I only use Hargs on ships that don't use torp slkills.

Harpeng is a great enabler for your other torps on a torpboat. It procs the pwo and forces your HY or whatever to be used on the torps you want it too.

I also like the Harpeng because it does burning style damage and you can be up on the target and not get any kind of damage from the shockwave or explosion.

Wish this torp went up to tier 12 or better yet, was a scalable torp like the 180 deg quant.

Does Radiation damage from the new console and set boost its DoT? It can be hit or miss since the game refers to it as *Hargh'peng Radiation"

Hey icsairguns, just wondering if you had any luck finding the Hargh'peng Doff mission?

I have seen it just about every day this week. I hunt around for maraudering missions and those military "Forced Labor" missions whenever I have Doffs available for those missions (i.e. sitting on their asses doing nothing). Because of that I frequently fly between sectors and check for available Doff missions when I am not doing STFs or other missions to grind out dilithium.

You're kidding? I think I have 6 or 7 of these torpedo launchers sitting in my bank. I see this mission available all the time and generally it ends in success and yet another launcher ends up in my bank.

I was wondering myself. In fact, I think this question deserves a separate test.

Sadly, I don't think it does: I did a quick test with and without and didn't see any discernible difference on the DoT, but didn't have a chance to see if the explosion was buffed.

If it DOESNT buff the 'peng, I think that's nonsense, as even "HargPeng Radiation" is still - wait for it - RADIATION!!!

Yeah, I never even bother with this doff mission anymore. I was throwing more hargh'pengs away then I ever actually equipped to my ships.
It's not my fault if you feel trolled by my Disco ball... Sorry'boutit.
