well that's odd i just ran my full Borg galaxy threw the new stuff and didn't even scratch the paint. same for the avenger i really didn't see a huge difference in my borg set maybe it does not heal as much but i never relayed on it anyways. fyi the extra borg healing now now a trait yo have to enable that would stack with the set maybe why i didn't notce a difference.
Rep nerf was needed to stop the ridiculous PVE power creep.
Yes, because we all know the power creep is related to faction traits, and not at all to SRO trait, scimitar, a2b-demarion, fleet consoles, fleet weapons and all that.
In fact, the powercreep get real worse, because the traits that real improve DPS are still there, and even better (crith and d). But yeah, otherwise I can't use the heal on crit proc anymore. It really hurt my DPS.

Well I think the point was you can still boost your DPS or your Defense... what you can not do in the new system is both. Super goose either one... means no trait slots for the other. With the fix to the borg set... yes it means more people doing PvE will likely think about loading a heal or two.
Granted the PvE is still mindless easy... I'm not sure that any heals at all where ever really needed in STO PvE.
The changes though are more about future creep then current creep. Fast forward 6 months - a year from now. Do you really think the old system with 2-3 more reps throw into the game would not have been massive amounts of Creep ?

PVE speaking :
4 traits :
+crit severity (voth)
+crit hit (romulan)
+hull HP (nukara)
+shield HP (romulan
What did you say about not having both defense and offense ? In fact, it's even better, those traits were buffed. Sure, you can't take the damage resistance, but honestly, does it really matter ? We all know DPS>tank in this game. If you kill them fast enough, you are not hit.
I know in the future it would have been a real problem. But for now, there are more pressing issues. Rep powers are a drop in the ocean, and currently, they weren't nerfed but buffed, at least those concerned by the powercreep.
But we all know they won't nerf the fleet items or anything that make them make money (fleet players play more and spend more, cryptic interview). Rep doesn't make them earn a lot of money.

Well no **** you can put a mix of both. DUHHHH!!!!
But the issue is it's not going to be as strong offensively or as strong defensively as an "all-in" selection. Your selection is pretty watered down. You are not doing as well offensively and defensively, going for a more even approach. But you will not be raging through stuff as an "all-in" attack trait selection, or not as tough defensively with the proper selection for it.
In the old system, you can have a ridiculous number of total traits to reinforce both offense and defense simultaneously.
Of course it was the ****ing PvP players that caused all the damn nerfs in the game. Nobody in their right mind that plays PvE would complain about being able to kill enemies too easily.
Cryptic is adding all this balance **** to shut up both the PvP players that spend obscene amounts of money, and the noobs that don't know how to play PvP.
I am sure PvE players love that Escorts kill everything fast and complete compent rapidly, and Science Vessels take forever for the same content.
I am sure PvE players love long lists of useless powers that no one needs because they are useless and there are much better options.

I hope everyone read that I was being sarcastic - I even through in the part in color about pvp players causing the last dilithium nerf - just to be sure people got it. Oh well.
Sarcasm doesn't come across very well in text.
Between the post and the thread title, it comes across as blaming PvP players for decisions that Cryptic made to adjust game balance.
Hand-made [Sarcasm][/Sarcasm] or #Sarcasm or even {Sarcasm} tags might help you convey emotional context.
To be clear, no players directly cause Nerf. Players report issues and make suggestions, which Cryptic may or may not act on. Players don't directly cause power creep either. The Devs don't need any help with that... and I applaud them for addressing it when it happens.

Actually Blue, if you look in the OP after my sarcastic part I put:
/Sarcasm
Then shifted to a more serious note.
Maybe I should have made the "/sarcasm" in bold or color?

It's been needed for ages, PVP and PvE stats need to be separated, you play PvE you get x stats on your traits and items, you play PVP you get y stats for the same items. The only place they cross is battles zone ie kerrat, where the PvE get the missions easier while the PVP fight players but find the missions harder.

STO has been dying for 4 years apparantly. Guess all that flush cash cryptic has to spend on VO's and such means nothing

The only part of the game that does not seem too busy is the Q'd Undine missions. But with the rep changes(due to PvP player complaints:P:eek:) make doing the Undine rep less popular.
P.S. - You know this thread was supposed to be sarcasm - right?:rolleyes:

Agreed. I just rolled three new toons, and no one is getting bought anything over 11 Blue. I do just fine in ESTFs. Now granted not what some of my better geared toons do, but I get through map.
indeed, last toon a leveled was a fed eng, who started in the ESTF's fine running on the breen set in a sovereign and blue mkX gear. I like the rep gear, but it's not necessary and it's possible to make it without it. Adapt or die.

But yeah there are people who think that cryptic has a gun to their head FORCING them to do stuff and that's just not true.
