B'rel retrofit bug

I noticed recently, after the update, that my B'rel Retrofit will randomly decloak like it fired a torpedo when mines that I launch arm themselves or do damage, when an Boff Ability refreshes, or when a torpedo or mine is ready. Is this a bug or a new balance mechanic?
